Interesting discussion! :) I was really just popping in to see if there was any info on how many ponies are known for each character, anyone know?

Also, I dont know hoe early SA started importing mlp, but is it possible that the cards are made for the imported ones, and they just used the same for the ones they made themself? Or did the import start later on?

I have also come across SA variant Moonstones, Windys, Sprinkles (white with red
hair....!)
and others

White with red hair? That sounds awfully a lot like Heart Throb.  Could it be a cause of mistaken identity? I mean, why would they make two withe pegasus with red hair, when none of them had that colour to begin with?

I also am a huge fan of Taffetas site, and it is the one I usually go to for pony information, at least regarding releases.

I, and I assume a lot of other European collectors are somewhat annoyed that ponycollecting is always referenced in a US point of view, and everything non US (and not part of the nirvana area) is often (but getting better) refered to as UK ponies.  It is like the rest of the European market never existed, if we did not produce our own ponies like spain and france, or har exlisive variants such as germany for example.
In fact most of the ponies labeled as UK ponies, where sold across Europe, and very few (maybe a handfull?) is truly UK exclusives.
On the other hand we have ponies that are considered standard releases, that where never sold in Europe, thus making them actually US exclusives, but selldom or never reffered to as such, as everything US is normal release.
Many European collectors even use terms as UK ponies, about ponies that they may have had from childhood themself, never really questioning why it is considered UK pony, when it was obvisly sold in their countries as well. The bad thing though is that there is no

I doo see your point though heftysmurf, about using strawberry reef as a quick way to identify ponies by picture, evn though it has errors. For use of the scrapbookyou need to know what you are looking for, and where to find it, but once you have identified a pony on strawberry reef, I would suggest looking it up elsewhere to find more information about them, like the mlp wiki or the scrapbook if UK (Or Euro, as I would call most of them)

As for priceguides, books tend to be outdated quite fast, so its better to price check online, or check the price check archives :)

Interesting discussion! I really like these kind of digging. ^^

Some NC ponies definately had a wider spread than just Spain. In Sweden we had NC Lemon Drop, both baby and adult, in english language  boxes. Not sure though if boxes are marked as made in spain or not (mine are packed away unfortunately)
I believe we had the NC Sundance as well. I have never seen her in box irl, but I have always assumed that if the packaging says otherwise, it just means the rest of it is made in another country. Like Megan might be made in China, whereas Sundance is NC. However, it makes sence that it might be that NC(spanish) are not always span made. At least not considering the Wingers and sundae best etc..

Regarding the Sundae Best in the gallery, Have we only seen the NC ones on spanish cards? Is it confirmed that those in the gallery on spanish cards actually are NC or are they just assumed since they are on spanish cards?  Is there any HK or China ones on spanish cards as well?

I'm curiaous though, Princess Sundance? I think I have missed something here.. Anyone have a pic? :)

(And Taffeta, if you would share the MOCs by mail, I would be very happy to see them. :))

MOC German Baby Lemon Drop for me I think. :)

Otherwise, greek blue Medley, Italy blue Lickety Split or a south african, and a lot more, too many to list :P

Aww, that is to sad :(
I would probably keep her as is anyway, as she is probably more rare on card, than loose, even if discoloured.

I wish that there had been a south african Lemon Drop, in some other colour range then the usual.

Also the babies that never where, as mentioned above. But would like to add Majesty to that.

Thanks for all your comments. This has been dragging on for some time know, and today I received a mail that they close the claim, and I will not get my money back, due to the adress provided (by Paypal) could not be found when I returned the package, so it seem that the package is going back to me as noone has claimed it.  So now I'm out of bouth the cost for the item+shipping, and a returnshipping, and still have not got what I bought. The seller claims it was shipped properly and good packaged and will not accept any refunds. In fact, it was the seller that started the claim and not me.  I'm so angry right now I dont know what to do.

As this is my first paypal claim, I need to ask advice from those of you with a little more experience. Is there any way I can oppose to this resolution, now as the case has been close, or isn't there anything I can do?
I kinda feel betrayed by paypal, as they gave me the adress that was not deliverable, and then they blaim me for not being able to provide proof of the seller had received it. Of course I cant do that, the adress I got was wrong! :(

Thank you all for your inputs.

Yes, I'm very disapointed, as I have wanted her for so long, and never thought of actually getting her MOC.

What would be a fair value for this pony in this condition know?  I mean, the pony itself is not that uncommon (spanish baby, sells for around 10-15$ in my area, and a payed A LOT more for this) But the fact that she was MOC was what made her so htf. I have actually only ever seen two of this MOC, and well, this is one of them. :(
Sure the accessories may be a little harder to find, as they are spanish, but the pony is not, it was sold in other countries as well (with other accessories though).

For me, the value has dropped drastically, but I dont know whats really fair to ask for.

I'm thinking of keeping her and glue it togheter again and make the best of what I can to straighten the card out (and of course tell its glued if I ever sell her), but it still is extremly disapointening.

I think someone found a joint inside Munchy once. I only seem to find rust and mold inside my ponies.

I think the best/worse I've seen people say they're found so far is someone found a $5 bill, and another person had a live cockroach crawl out.

I first read that as a live cobra, and was almost thinking of never buy a pony ever again..

Hi

I need some advice please.
I recently bought this MOC, wich arrived today (it's a grail pony I have wanted for years, and I'm pretty sure it is even the same MOC that I have had a picture of in my siggy for years now.)

It arrived like this, and I guess you can imagine my disapointment. I'm reluctant to even call it MOC anymore. The comb and ribbon has almost come out (well if i lift the bubble a little, they certainly will), the bubble is more loose than sealed, and the card is badly bent.
I knew there where issues with the MOC, but this is not what I expected.

I guess it is easy to blame the postoffice here, but the box it was shipped in is not even big enough for the card, so it was placed iagonal in the box.

The seller has a lot of rare MOCs, so I guess they would be fairly knowledged in how to pack them well to avoid them getting damaged in the post.

These are the picturesI received from the seller. there are some cracks and bends, but in my opinion not nearly as bad as it was when arriving.

Pony Corral / Anyone knows what these are?
« on: May 01, 2017, 08:04:40 AM »
I have got these in my collection, and was hoping anyone could share some info on them, how they where distributed and such.

First off is Snuzzle. Looks like regular Snuzzla, but came in this box. At irst I thought maybe the Mail order varaints came like these, just that people selldom kept the boxes, even though the mailorder ponies is often seen MIP. But it says 1983 on the box, so I guess these where part of an earlier issue then the mail orders. Also I have seen a Moondancer MIP with the same box.  I think the seller mentioned something like a promotion send out to stores for advertising or likewise.

The other one is Applejack, MIB in box. (It has the horseshoe point sticker behind the holes) I guess it is something that could be ordered fom a catalogue or something? but from where?

Anyone know anything about these kind of boxed ponies, and maybe someone has pictures to share of other ponies in similar packaging it would be nice to see. :)
