Bumping for buying, just recently got a promotion at work and bumped up to full-time, I'm nervous but excited and ready to purchase a few ponies.

Alas, sounds like the mechanism is broken then, it's meant to turn on it's own after being wound. Ah well, it happens with these girls, unfortunately. Still though, sounds like she should still clean up. Worth a go in that regard.
Personally I like the very 80s nature of this line (in colors, symbols, and theme). 213

With the Dance and Prance Ponies, their manes and tails are relatively on the shorter side like many of the earlier ponies (also probably to keep from getting caught in the mechanism, and it's a bit hard to tell from the photo but it looks like hers has not been cut. It's hard to tell, but I think once you condition and comb her hair, it looks like the fibers are still pretty nice and shiny, and look like they might straighten out alright. Careful to not get water in her while treating her hair, the spring that winds the tail is metal and will rust.
Does her mechanism still work? I have Swinger from the same series from my childhood, and her mane has not been cut. I think the mane lengths were the same on all of the ponies in the series: visitors can't see pics , please register or login Oh! And a wiki link to the series if you like: http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/Category:Dance_%27n_Prance_Ponies Also also, if you're curious what's going on inside one of these ponies: http://www.mlptp.net/index.php?threads/part-2-dissecting-a-dnp-pony-a-story-in-pictures-warning-lots-of-pics.78715/ 214

Hnnng, so rare, so much want! Honestly Rama's going to command a very high price indeed, I'm not sure there's even a good basis for a starting point. Pics! Pics! Pics!

Want want want! She's one of the very few ponies I have on my wishlist (I'm just looking for a few G1s I didn't have as a kid). She's so pretty and I love how unique her markings are.

visitors can't see pics , please register or login Pearly baby Moondreamer (Moondancer?) has always been a favorite of mine. I remember saving pony points to order both her and baby firefly (with my mum's help of course, I was very young). visitors can't see pics , please register or login Poor Midnight Dream was not in very good condition when I got her. All kinds of symbol rubs and frizzy cut hair. visitors can't see pics , please register or login Dream Blue has also seen better days. Someone has already de-tinsled her hair prior to my owning her (she came in a lot), I think I might do the same to her tail to match her up (there's not much left in any case). visitors can't see pics , please register or login Love Wishes has great color harmony. I had gotten her lot with intention to customize, but I'm having a lot of second thoughts about it. 217

Hah! What a wonderfully clever idea. I love it! Nice execution too, if you do keep going on it, it's going to be a great set.

I'm wondering if these will be Comic Con exclusives, it would certainly fit the theme.

(which is my payday) Looks like they've popped up in an American version of the store now too, all you need to do is purchase them from here: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/8pcs-set-5-7cm-Limited-Collector-s-Edition-Genuine-MLP-Filly-dolls-High-quality-flocking-colt/32233306834.html I would do so quickly, as they seem to go up and down pretty easily. Aliexpress functions like any other online shop, and signing up is easy. They take all major credit cards. (... I sound like I'm advertizing... really I just want to help anyone get these who wants them. They're really adorable and I'd hate to see them be scarce only because ordering was difficult). 221

I really love this whole set. Only Ringlet is on my 'want' list, but I wouldn't mind having the full set some long day down the road.

Customs / Re: Deco/Decora/Decoden/Cake/Sweet Themed Customs (My First Customs! Very Pic Heavy)« on: March 12, 2015, 08:55:14 PM »These are absolutely stunning!!! Great work especially since they're your first! Oh man advice? I mean I've read a lot and I've been around MLP a long time but customizing is pretty new to me too. Buuuut some good sources of information are: http://www.mlppreservationproject.com/index.html - Great overall info on what you're working with, how ponies are put together, and how to restore. http://sanjana.nilut.com/mlp/Tutorials/Prepping%20Bait/prep.html - Great info on prepping a bait. http://ponycustoms.com/ - Great re-hairing tutorials There's more links in one of the sticky threads at the top of this board set here: http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,283445.0.html Personal recommendations from this experience (and from cleaning and restoring ponies)? - Use acetone to remove symbols/eyes, or pure acetone nail polish remover. No other nail polish remover works as well. - If the hair in a pony's head won't come out (particularly those stubborn forelock plugs), boiling the head and then pushing down hard on the forehead can help disconnect the glue. - Do not try to remove the full weft of hair, tape wefts of hair (to save them for later) then cut them short before removing the plugs from the head. - Magic Erasers are great for removing any and all surface dirt, even when things seem ground in you might be surprised. - Tiny brushes are critical for repainting symbols, I am using this 6 piece set http://www.dickblick.com/products/princeton-series-3050-mini-brushes/ which I like very well and also use for other projects involving detailed painting (I'm working on a Monster High Neightan Rot mod that's coming along fantastically well with a lot of fiddly details). Hm... that's all I can think of off the top of my head... If you have any particular questions on what I was doing specifically, I'll answer best I can! - If you do want to do the fake whipped cream look (on ponies or anything else) I recommend white silicone sealant (for doors and windows) placed in a piping bag. It behaves similarly (to the best of my knowledge) to 'Whipple' and other branded 'deco' supplies and is much less expensive. - 225

In addition to all of these, flea markets can be a good bet if you're in a big enough city, where I'm from they're usually on weekends.
