That won't remove the discoloration on the outside though will it? I have a windy who I'm trying to fix, I seperated her from the others already

Pony Corral / cleaning mold? what do you do?
« on: February 04, 2012, 03:40:31 PM »
Alright here I am again asking more questions, I did read about this already but had additional questions and want to know what you guys do. I have a g1 with minor mold and cancer spots. I am mainly wondering, I already opened her up and the damage isn't too bad, how I need to clean the spots on the inside and outside without damaging the pony or the hair while still treating the mold. I read oxiclean powder works but will that damage anything?? What do you use?
Thanks in advance for once again helping answer my questions!!

I would guess pussycat, golden delicious... and I think maybe amethyst is closest for the purple.
Alright thanks! If its too much work to rehair it and not really worth it I will probably just either use it as a bait, which I'm not really wanting to do cause the body is excellent, or I will just do it in a different solid color I suppose

Do you have a pic?
I can take one and put it up in a little bit, my daughter is still sleeping my bedroom where the ponies are and the computer is

Customs / g3 garden wishes hair colors
« on: February 04, 2012, 05:30:19 AM »
I am not sure if I have this in the right section but if anyone has the g3 garden wishes, do you know what hair colors she uses? I'm going to look online and see if I can find out too. I got one yesterday with super nasty ratty hair and just decided to cut it, I still have a short mane and stub for tail but I've never got hair from dolly hair before so I don't know about matching those colors. Any help?

Aww bummer that sunfading doesnt remove those things or do much to improve them. Oh well, poor windy will just have to get cleaned up and sit in the collection the way she is lol

Pony Brag Arena / $1.00 mimic! (No joke!) Pics added!!
« on: February 03, 2012, 01:47:49 PM »
So, I did my rounds today at the thrift stores and found a ton of g3s which still need some serious deep cleaning and hair care, and then on my last stop I ran in quick to check and see if there was anything new in and there she was. A MIMIC in a bag with a CC cotton candy, and a Windy for $2.99     . Yeah, I just about had a heart attack, I thought there had to be something wrong, but nope. It really was that good!! I also got a bag with 4-speed and Firefly for $2.99 as well. They all need a little more cleaning, as they have just been cleaned with soap and water and had some minor hair brushing. Mimic has beautiful untrimmed hair with no missing hair plugs and only minor symbol rub and her eyes are in absolutely perfect condition. Windy sadly has cancer spots and some minor symbol rub but is otherwise in great condition. And cotton candy has a rattle in her body and some symbol wear. 4-speed has minor trim to the white in his mane but is otherwise wonderful. And firefly only has symbol rub. So far I havent found out if any of the stains will be set in but for the most part all of the ponies are in good condition! I also found a FF cotton candy too, she's looking a little better than the CF cotton candy. I have to say though, I am pretty excited (which is a total understatement!!) The pictures aren't the best and this is before they are cleaned, (I got mimic almost fully cleaned) So I will put up better pics later once they are all spiffy and nice looking

Alright thanks for the advice! I have acetone and have used it to clean g3s but wasnt sure if it would make a difference on the g1s body. I didnt want to damage anything and figured I should be safe and just ask. Sunfading will work for cancer spots good right??

What is the best thing to use for cleaning surface stains on a g1 that won't come off with just soap and water? Will acetone ruin the body?
