The Dollhouse / Re: Feeler ~ Signature abbey MIB

Which version of signature abbey do you have?  If she's a first edition I'll definitely take her off your hands.

Here's the link-

I think it's just that the eBay sellers don't know that there are two versions and keep using photos of 1st edition abbey to advertise the auction.
I tried to explain to the seller that there are two different versions, but they said that all signature abbey's are the same.  I' getting the impression that they think I'm a bit nutty now, as they want to see pictures of the doll I want...  As for a return, they haven't refused one but they want to me to pay for their shipping cost too, on top of me paying the return shipping.

Bump for update in the situation...

You're joking, right?
I've been trying to get Lyra and Trixie for a while now and they're always the ones cherry picked from the new assortment...

There was no mention of the doll being wave 1 or 2, I went by the pic that was shown with the listing.
At this point I'm just going to do the return and hope that the doll I receive in my next purchase is wave 1 abbey...

Well, the seller replied saying they'll accept a return as long as the doll hasn't been opened, and she hasn't so I guess I'll just go ahead and return her.
So it looks like the very nice close up of a wave 1 abbey they used for their listing was a stock photo.  There were a lot of photos in the description that were broken links, so it probably was a gamble on my part after all...

Hi guys, I need a little advice since I'm a bit of an EBay newbie...
I recently purchased an abbey bombinable monster high doll from an eBay seller, after scrutinizing many pictures to find a wave 1 abbey.
After a long week at school, I cam home to find I overpayed on a wave 2 signature abbey...
The seller's return policy is sending it back within 14 days, I just want to know how to go about doing that, as this is definitely not the one pictured.

Edit:  Okay, this has happened a second time,  and this time the seller is being very defensive and saying I'm lying and that I'm going to send them a cheaper version of Abbey when I return her...  I really need help on how to deal with this!

If you need someone to be the middleman for the purchase I can definitely help you, Mattel has free shipping right now so you'd only pay for shipping to Canada.

The bee torso has already been put on hold, but I'll let you know if it falls through.

« on: August 23, 2012, 08:53:09 AM »
Hi guys!
I recently ordered an extra torso set from Mattel for a project, but I only need the skeleton torso.  I will be selling the extras, so the dragon, sea monster, bee, and three eyed torsos will be available.
Each torso will be $2.50 plus shipping, and I'll request payment when they arrive.
Dragon, sea monster, and bee torsos are on hold!

Both are adorable, I recomend searching for some close up pics, as the makeup varies between releases. (Part of the reason I have multiples of the same character, LOL.)
I definitely recomend stalking the mh sales and trades board, that's one of your best bets for snagging a ghoulia at a good price :)

Hehe, looks like you got the infor you need!  I wish you luck on making your custom ghoulia! :)
This tumblr has a tutorial for modding the legs-
http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/doll-customizing
That one seems to be specific for dolls whose legs are attached with an elastic, but it gives you an idea of how the process goes.
As for the arms, you only have to drill the hole out a bit bigger, as the CAM pegs are bigger than normal monster high.
Hopefully another user can come along and give you better insight, I know a couple people here have modded CAM's onto the regular dolls
Whichever way you take, it sounds like an awesome project!  Do you know which ghoulia you're going to use?

It's possible to mod CAM parts onto a normal doll, but requires a lot of work (drilling, etc..).  The easiest way to get what you have in mind, but definitely not cost effective, would be to get the CAM werewolf body, and then switch out parts for skeleton parts and put ghoulia's head on the body.  There are definitely tutorials around if you go the first route, but it takes time and effort from what I've heard.
