I don't remember looking at pamphlets and such... My parents always made me throw away packaging as soon as the toy was unpacked (we have home movies of birthdays and Christmases of me whining and asking to keep the boxes of all my toys! Mom's lucky I didn't turn into a MIB collector because of the trauma, lol.)
I absolutely loved Wind Whistler in the cartoon when I was a wee tot, though. I think it's the MLP Movie where Megan hugs her? Man, that upset me as a little girl, I was so jealous. Wind Whistler's the only one I remember specifically wanting.
Overall I just always wanted more ponies :p

I see how long ago this thread was started so I may have posted previous setups in the past (we've moved a handful of times) but here's what I had most recently ... though we just moved again so in a couple months, once I get things sorted, my G1s and G3s will be reunited for the first time since 2010! I'll have moved them around a lot by then... I'm sure this thread will still be going though XD - visitors can't see pics , please register or loginHere's my G3 setup. You can't see it here, but the middle shelf has another line of ponies in the back that goes all the way across! This is from my bedroom at my parents' house. I have about 120. - visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginThis is where my G1s have been for a while, at our previous place! I have over 100, not quite as many as G3s though, I don't think? The hutch is from my husband's grandmother's old house. It keeps the cat off of them. :p

They just posted an update at the end of June!
I LOVE that site. The info's nice and all but what i love is their personal town/collection stuff. Unique content that makes me nostalgic and inspires me to take photos of my own.

I love all the sparkle ponies but don't really like her pose/colors. She's my least favorite of the set but I still like her. She was the last one that I got of the set.

G1: Favorite, hands down. I like how soft and gentle they look. I really just like everything about them.
G2: They're fine toys but aren't very MLP to me. The quality wasn't very good and I didn't like most of the designs. It lacks the spirit of G1. Sky Skimmer's in my collection though because she just surpasses most G2s to me. She's gorgeous.
G3: I think they were an awesome marriage of the classic G1 MLP look with modern toy trends/aesthetics. They're so expressive and fun. At least pre-core7, anyway. Then the line went downhill FAST, no originality, no spirit.
G 3.5: Stop no.
G4: I think the show's great but dislike the toys. They have the same sort of unimaginiativeness as G2 to me.

I looove collection photos. These are all really outdated photos from my bedroom at my parents' house, but this was my basic setup until I got my G1s from my parents' the other week. (lol I've been moved out almost four years but never had room for them til we just moved!) visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Aaahh I love pony art in this style. It's reminiscent of the Rescue at Midnight Castle proportions which I prefer on ponies. I wish I could get the hang of drawing pony bodies. These are so awesome~

This doesn't surprise me. People rip open the packages with our flower girl dresses in our bridal section, despite there being a photo of the dress on the box. It's in a cheap plastic box, it's a fluffy floofy tulle dress, and it does NOT go back into the box. My dept head eventually just put one on a hanger and it looks awful there, doesn't fit on the layout, but at least people aren't ripping them open as often yes they still do.
People open stuff all the time even when they can clearly see what it looks like. It's annoying. So this doesn't surprise me in THE SLIGHTEST.

Welcome! Hope you enjoy your time here.
To answer your question, I could never decide on a favorite G1, there's probably two dozen favorites. But my fav G3 is Sunny Daze <3

I do more or less agree with the majority here. The amount of shipping can be complicated with eBay, apparently, and you did get the package safely, so I don't see a reason to give negative feedback.
HOWEVER you are displeased with the packaging and handling of your merchandise. I would send the seller a note saying that while you got them safely, you expected them to be packaged more securely and perhaps they could take that into consideration in their future transactions. While you're at it, add that you expected, with what you paid for shipping, was for the merchandise to be packaged a certain way, and feel that you were overcharged shipping for just an envelope, and ask if they could explain the higher cost.
Just my 2ยข.

I went with "No, but I might pick up one everynow and then." because I don't actively collect all the time. Probably once or twice a year I get pony fever and purchase a handful of ponies over a few weeks, but that's usually it right now. In college I averaged buying a pony once per week (plus any new G3s that were in stores) but that was when I first really got into collecting and also lived at home! ^^; After the first year and a half to two years of initial buzz of collecting, I tapered off.
I'd say I'm more of an off-and-on collector rather than retired though!

Hey, welcome! Bow-tie is a major cutie, especially in RaMC! I hope you get your hands on one soon. Luckily she's pretty common so with a little work you should be able to get your hands on one for a good price. :)
I love Tama, too! I don't play them much anymore but I was obsessed with the P1s from 1997, then got back into them in early 2008. Was into the 3.0 and 4.5, but when the color ones came out, I kinda lost interest :P I still love reading back my old Tama logs though, they were SO much fun. <3
