Usually G1 Parasol, but lately G3 Secret Wish as I found two of her in just over a week. G1 Cotton Candy is my biggest follower and Windy is probably my second biggest fan.

Off Topic / Re: Question for Breyer Collectors
« on: February 16, 2012, 10:01:41 PM »
I'd pay a buck for a box for the models I have loose, storing them without breaking ear tips is very difficult unless you twist tie them in a box like how they come. But it certainly wouldn't be worth shipping it. Maybe its just me though. My friend once found me an old 70's shetland pony box and I don't have a shetland yet. I prefer older models so I get them out of box at antique malls and such. I have to put them in non-breyer boxes to store them.

Flight of the Navigator (Disney) over at mlp4me's house last weekend. She's always got a good movie I haven't seen.

Off Topic / Hanging things on apartment walls
« on: February 16, 2012, 12:05:12 PM »
So I've been having some fun hanging things in my apartment lately. I've lived there 3 years and never hung anything up because my apartment complex is super picky that if you so much as chip the paint, there goes your deposit. And then the other day I was reading a tip and tricks book for around the house when I was on my break at work. It said to find a wall stud you can use a strong magnet to look for a nail or screw in a stud and the magnet will stick to it or repell from it depending on which side of the magnet is on the wall. I felt so stupid when I read that. I could have had stuff sticking to my wall with magnets the whole time! So I went home and used some strong ceramic magnets I had and sure enough I was able to hang something as heavy as a 4x6 picture or a sheet of paper to screws in the studs with those magnets. And then the next day I went to the hardward store and got some super strong neodynium magnets that hold up a little more. One could easily hang an 8x10 picture sans frame.

I was finally able to hang my pony poster on my pony room wall with 4 magnets as close to each corner as the wall studs would allow. Please ignore the curled corners as I just uncurled the poster to try and see if it would hold up.

I played with a few x-mas ornaments and a ceramic magnets stuck to the wall.

And most fun of all, I managed to find some strong enough screws or nails in the wall studs to have spider-ponies! Some ponies had their hoof magnets the wrong way so the repelled from the screw, and most adults were too heavy, but I've got ponies stuck all over the walls in my house right now.

I thought I'd post this because a lot of people live in apartments were they aren't supposed to nail stuff to the walls, and sticky strips often peel the paint off too. Of course there are some flaws because magnets have one end that attracts to other magnets and one that repells so sometimes you're running a magnet along the wall to find a spot and it will repell instead of stick. Also at places like my mom's house, the walls are really thick, so I was able to stick a magnet to her wall but it didn't hold much weight.

When I'm logging into my bank account online, the last login page gives my security word front and center and I'm supposed to type my pin number into the bar below it. However, since I'm staring at my security word that's always what I type as if its one of those things asking me to type the word I see to see if I'm human. I always do this and wonder why I get an error page and have to start over.

Pony Brag Arena / Little bits of happiness
« on: February 14, 2012, 12:00:35 PM »
Not a huge brag, just a few pieces. But anything is better than nothing.
First, FF Minty! Believe it or not she is the only collector pose pony I didn't have at all in G1, although I have her repro MIB. I had to take my friend to work because her car wasn't working yesterday so I stopped at St. Vinnies and found her for $1.25. Just early for March and St. Patrick's day decor. She had tail rust which I took a toothbrush and toothpaste to and she has very faint blue ink rubs on her ear and nds shoulder.

Then a Breyer. Ariat, a classic warmblood mare. 75ยข with only an ear chipped. Somebody painted her tail green and blue with craft acrylics but warm water and a toothbrush is getting it off without damaging her original finish.

And a new puzzle for my growing collection. I showed up at goodwill the other day as mlp4me and her husband were there. She had the puzzle but gave it to me because I'm the one with the big pony puzzle collection. To be honest, haha, she would have taken half a day to put this thing together. I grew up in a house where there was always a puzzle on the table. Sorry mlp4me but you know its true :P

But since she was nice and let me buy the puzzle, I found a little something for her at vinnies for her Rainbow Brite collection

And for laughs, I just got this girl for $2 last week. I didn't have her in my collection yet. And now I found another one for $1! Just when I finally get her. I couldn't turn down a second because of the great shape of her (minus the messy hair) and the fact that they didn't make many sparkle G3s.

Nice collection. Those pictures make them look tiny, I might have thought they were classics if its wasn't for Old Timer in the first pic. She's one of my favorites because of the horse on Aristocats.

I think Simba is usually marked, but they make fakies of Simba in the UK just as we have fakies of Gigo in the US. Fakies of fakies. They'll be fun customs being that they're posable.

I'm pretty sure its usually just ingrained dirt and its never been found to be mold. I guess AJ just liked playing outside more.

I wasn't allowed to leave the table as a child if my plate wasn't clean. Didn't matter if you didn't like it, it was better than getting a belt or paddle across your rear. My aunt babysits a picky eater right now and she's always making recipes that hide veggies in everything, even chocolate pudding.

I like baby DB! But baby Up Up and Away is a unicorn. Are you sure this wasn't baby Firefly? Schrodinger confuses me, I'm smart but not weird. Why are we putting a cat in a box? Gahh. I give up.

Customs / Re: Deflocking- protecting eyes and symbols
« on: February 11, 2012, 01:33:27 PM »
Acetone is used to remove paint, why wouldn't it smear the symbols? I never knew people used it for deflocking. Jasco has been 99.9% safe for me except once when I had tried to clean a spot on the pony with toothpaste once and hadn't rinsed it well and I don't know if that's what did it but I took off a little paint on ss Lickety-Split's ice cream when the Jasco hit that spot. I don't know if it reacted with the toothpaste or what.
