Wind Whistler is totally awesome.  I'm definitely looking forward to seeing a lot of her. She's the type of logical character I almost always go for in a show. The fact that there's a Big Brother episode sounds neat!

I read summaries of all the episodes and the movie, and I ended up watching The Magic Coins first. (Ooops.) But I was able to follow it just fine, and I loved it! I wondered if the show would be really kiddie, but it was great. Lots of intense goings-on and action and adventure! Some friendship squee never hurts, either! (LOL, I'm amused by the Odd Couple bit they got going at the end.) And I've promptly decided I like Megan and Wind Whistler a lot. I definitely think I'll love this show, character discrepancies aside.

All of my ponies came from thrift shops when I was a kid so I never knew their names and always made up my own  I'm surprised to find out how many I actually gave names to that they were the actual name
Ha! That's pretty awesome. Out of curiosity, what were some of the ones that got their real names?

So, has anyone ever gotten a Pony that they love, but they don't love the name? Me, I want to get a Quackers and rename her "Ahiru", the Japanese word for duck. (And if anyone asks, yes, I love Princess Tutu!) I dunno, Quackers makes me think of the slang term for insane people, as well as the nutso villain on Darkwing Duck, Quackerjack (whom I never have been able to really like). So I just can't see myself calling a cute little pony by that name.
Anyone else ever want to rename a Pony?
(Odd sidenote: I used to call a lot of my Ponies by their type and not their individual name. But that was an accident and not on purpose. Still, it persisted for years that I thought the type name was their individual name, so I've called Sunbeam "Sundazzle", Ruby Lips "Sweet Kisses", Lovebeam "Color Swirl", and Strawberry Scoops "Sippin' Soda". It's been hard to break the habit over the past year, but I've been trying to get around to calling them their real names now.)

Babystarz: Ah yes, movies often do have better animation and continuity than TV cartoons. I find it aggravating when people don't write characters the same way. I often go on rants about continuity (or lack of it) in live-action shows.  Lovesbabysquirmy: Haha! I love all generations of the toys, but I definitely agree that the G4s are not the same quality as G1s. I couldn't even get into the line until I fell in love with the show. Now I love the toys, but I deeply miss the lack of variety.

Beautiful work! I'm awed and impressed every time I see how well some of these poor little Ponies clean up. And what a lovely Pony to get at the end of the day! I adore her coloring.

Thank you so much for your comments and links! I'll watch the first episodes first and then maybe I'll do my standard thing of reading summaries to find which ones sound the most interesting to me to watch next. I tend to watch all shows that way, unless they have to be seen in order.

Oh, your artwork is beautiful! I love it! Did you draw it on a computer, out of curiosity? The lines look kind of like that. I'm always amazed by people who can draw with computer programs! Do you only draw people's original Pony characters or do you draw the existing Ponies too?

I only ever saw part of one My Little Pony episode from the '80's show, due to our lack of cable. But I know there's been some DVDs of some stuff out for years now, and last I knew, YouTube had at least some of the episodes. I've been wanting to give it a try.
I'm wondering if anyone has good recommendations for episodes to start with? Also, does Sugarberry ever appear on the show?

Wow! Just beautiful! You're stunning as Cadance and so cute as Gadget. She was always my favorite Rescue Ranger. Now I want to look up old episodes.

I'm thinking that perhaps since I don't have much to spend on Ponies on any given time (sadly), perhaps I should just actively search for the ones at the very top of my list first, then some of the others. (But the problem with that is, there's always the chance that some of the others will pop up first and I wouldn't want to miss out if it was a really good deal. Ah, juggling money is an always interesting and sometimes frustrating venture....) I really want Ponies that are in excellent condition. I wish I could afford MIB/MOC, but I can't, so it has to be the next best thing: Loose, but with no marks, no cut or frizzy hair. I love it when a seller says they've freshly washed the Ponies, although that isn't a requirement. I might be willing to bend a bit on the "no-frizz" thing if the Pony has no marks or cut hair, especially if it's one I desperately want. And I have bought Ponies with a few stray marks; I take it on a Pony by Pony basis. I actively scout the For Sale section, but please let me know if you have any of the ones listed and haven't posted them yet! The near-complete list of what I'm currently looking for is this: G1:Sugarberry Finally snagged one! Tex, with hat and bandanna if at all possible Sweet Tooth Milky Way Here! Love Melody Blueberry Baskets Powder Ice Crystal TAF Fifi Here! Merriweather Here! Flowerburst Flower Dream Here! Twilight Posey Here! Up, Up, and Away Moondancer Sugar Sweet Medley Firefly Coming! And also: Quackers Wind Whistler Night Glider Scoops Gingerbread Majesty Lemon Treats Mint Dreams Chocolate Delight (Sippin' Soda Pony) Megan (first release or maybe the second, definitely not the third) G2:Princess Silver Rain The top tier (up to Megan) are the ones I'd really like first, and of those, the top three are what I'd like to get above all others, with Sugarberry at the very top. If I could only get one at this particularly time, I'd want it to be her. I think I want the G2 Pony more than my second tier of G1s right now, but I wanted to list things in generation order. I prefer buying from people in the U.S. because overseas shipping charges make me cringe, but I'd be willing to consider an overseas seller if the Pony is in wonderful condition and the prices aren't seriously out of my range. Thank you all! Kiwi: Ahh, those dreams are the best and worst! They're so lovely to be in, but then you have to wake up and find they're not real. That sounds like an amazing experience at the garage sale!
