Pony Corral / Daisy and Ladybug-themed Ponies
« on: March 23, 2013, 01:03:38 PM »
One of these days I want to collect all of the above. :) Daisies and ladybugs are two of my trademarks.

I know of the G3 ones:

Dainty Daisy
Daisyjo
Lovely Ladybug

Are there any others, from G3 or G1 or any other generation? I think there's a G4 with some daisy symbols, but daisies aren't in her name.

I always loved that about Strawberry Scoops' ice cream float/sundae. :) I wish I still had it easily accessible. Most of my G1 Pony accessories are in an old blue Florida orange box somewhere in the abyss that is one of our storage areas on the property.

She's cute! I love her color scheme (it reminds me of the Candy Cane Ponies). And she's the only other Sippin' Soda Pony (right?), so I'd like to have her to be best buds with Strawberry Scoops. :)

Maybe they are soy hotdogs.

Ha! Good one. Who knows, maybe they are. :) Maybe she's the spokespony for Morningstar Farms. ;)

Very nice! I'll have some more Ponies to add to my wantlist now.

It's interesting when names get recycled on Ponies that look nothing like the originals! I didn't know there was a G3 Merriweather.

Awesome pics of lovely Ponies! :) Now we just need the names to go with them. I recognize Quackers, Firefly, and Lemondrop, but not the rest.

Is Silver Rain the one with the crown? She's a G2 I definitely must get. Gorgeous!

So there's quite a few weather-related Ponies: sun, clouds, lightning bolts, snow, rainbows....

Are there any specifically for cloudy days and/or rain?

Leigh: Dancing Butterflies is my oldest Pony and probably the leader of my little G1 herd. :) And she's one of my earliest gifts. She's about as old as I am; I think I got her on my first birthday. So she's pretty special to me and I'm happy you decided to bring one home! ;)

On topic, I just pick whichever Ponies strike my fancy, both ones I always wanted as a child and ones I'm discovering now. Sometimes I'm not sure exactly why I'm nuts about them, although I do notice a trend towards whites, blues, and TAF Ponies in general. I also adore blue bodies with blue hair. So, so pretty.

If I had enough money, though, I'd be buying Ponies left and right! :) I'd pretty much love for all G1 Ponies to come home with me, and any Ponies from any other generation that catch my eye.

Fifi does seem kind of a surprise compared to most other Pony names! I wonder why they weren't more creative.

Which Fifi did you have? The white with blue hair, or the blue with pink hair?

I think that last photo is the first time my jaw has literally dropped open while looking at pony pics. Her...her wings!?!

My jaw dropped too, and I think a hand went to my mouth in horror. Poor de-winged Pony! And what a bizarre experience with the seller, oh wow. But at least the Pony has a happy home now. :)

Yeah, I'm not seeing any yellow, just the grayishness that I hoped was just from handling.

Thank you! That would be nice if the wipes would help. :) I'll try those first of all.

Thank you for your tips, everyone. :) I'm glad to know it's probably about what I thought. That's odd, that the blue ones always go particular colors. I'll see what I can do with them. I think it's probably the handling rather than the age, in this case. At least, I hope so. But either way, they're still beautiful even with the grayishness. :)

Pony Corral / Can Blueish Ponies look dirty when they're not?

So I've just bought my first G1 Pony on the forum, my first G1 in 21 years. I am totally excited and squeeing, and I want to get my little herd of G1s spiffied up to meet the new one when she arrives. ;)

Most of the trouble with them is wild hair, which I've already seen a lot of tips for, so my main puzzlement right now is something that only seems to affect a light blue Pony (Sugar Apple) and a turquoise Pony (Ruby Lips). Both of them really look kind of dirty, but they can't be. I've always taken very good care of my G1s and they've never even been outside to get into real dirt. I can't figure out what's on them. All I can determine is that I handled them the most, and you know how white plushies (or white gloves on plushies) can go dingy if they're handled too much?

Does anyone else have this problem? Is there something in the make-up of only the blueish Ponies that would result in a dingy/dirty look if they're handled too much? And can it be gotten rid of? I was thinking of trying a little rubbing alcohol, but I wondered if that would be too strong for the Ponies. And I don't want to take them apart or anything like that.

I wish I could take pictures of what they look like, but I don't have a digital camera that's properly hooked up. (And it's a really cheap camera anyway.) (Blueberry Baskets demonstration picture is no longer available.)
