Have you considered just doing a real website with a mobile version app for the phone?
I would not consider an app like this if all that data was stored on my phone. I have way to much other stuff on my phone like music and movies.
You could have it function in an offline manner so that it syncs when you plug your phone in or have a wifi connection just like google+ does.

I think you need to break down your use cases and see what you need on the phone it's self. I would recommend you break it down in order of features as well. Doing a big project like this is often better done in chunks. I would also consider seeing if there is any sort of library sharing or other ways you can reuse your code between platforms.

Ok now that things have calmed down at work I can focus on the meet again.

I think we should do 2 activities besides sales/trades (not at park) and eating.
Earlier in the thread there were several suggestions for games does anyone want to volunteer to set up and supply a game?
If you want to team up to do set up a game that works as well.

That is an impressive amount of ponies!!

I would love to see the country split into 3 or 4 sections and see the fair go to each section before starting over again.

So do east coast then midwest then mountian west then west coast. Then everyone would have a shot of one or two fair locations that would be close by.  And each zone wouldn't have to have the same host city each time. People who went every year would also get a reason to see the country.

If the pony convention ever came to my home town I would be totally willing to set up tours and other great activities for those who had never been here before.

Ok so I got the final word on sales. Basicly they said no cash transaction on site. However that would not prevent us from going just outside the park property to exchange money or pre sales or paypal transactions.

Don't let this news get you down guys. We will have a ton of fun this time as well.
