Trish, I'm excited when I meet someone who knows about the northern lights- you wouldn't believe how many people I've met who've never heard of them, and some of them think I'm lying when I tell them about them!

When you actually ARE excited when a co-worker's granddaughter is playing with her McPony. My co-worker told me this super exciting story of his granddaughter playing with her pony (That's really all there was to the story) and it actually made me happy! LOL!

Michelle, you took the ponies out of the display? They let you do that? I assumed since the promotion JUST started, the display was off-limits. I've just been forcing my family to eat at McDonalds until I have enough toys! And you're right, completely worth a dry-cleaning bill.

I just giggle at the thought of me trying to do this computer art! Rather than try to figure out lineart, I've colored pictures with crayon and then scanned them in! LOL!
Bubbles, I'm glad to hear you didn't have to sell her. She's such a pretty pony! And now you'll have Easter too? Holy cats!

I used to buy any that I found, but then I realized that a lot of the time I was buying doubles and just putting them in my trade box, and that seemed counterproductive! So now I pick and choose a little more- if she's lovely and I think someone else may need her, I buy her and put her in the trade box. If she isn't, I'll let her wait a week- I usually go in week cycles- and if she's still there, then no other collector or child has come by and needed her, so I'll get her and help her find her way.
Of course, if she's a rare one or a g1, I'm paranoid someone will buy her for a dog toy so I get them to keep them safe. I can only hope we made the right choices!

I agree that it is too early to judge the g3's. And I also think it's not quite right to put the g1's and g3's in the same mindset. After kids got done playing with their g1's, they got put onto garage sales or donated to charity. When the g3's were done being played with, they went on ebay. It's a completely different world.

Did you sell Ladybird, Bubbles?
Rybett, after I typed that, I realized it might be a nickname. I'd love to see some of your customs!
Nessa, good to know I'm not alone here in the "love them all" world!

There are lots of people in North Dakota! You can carpool!

Different, new ones. We were in a swap together pretty much a year ago, weren't we! Haha! This is the same ponies, but they have knobs on their heads where little clips attach. I actually haven't seen them in person yet, but they're brand new, just started this week, I think!
This set has Lily Blossom, but I don't think it has Cheerilee. And I looked on ebay, the prices for the new ones aren't insane like they are/were for the last set. That set was the only time I've seen McDonald's ponies in super-high demand!

ETA: It does have Cheerilee. It's the Mane 6, plus Lily Blossom and Cheerilee.

rybett, how old is Charlie? (your son, right?) because the site is really close to the zoo, which is free to get into, so if they don't want to go shopping they can go zooing!

I love how many people are on here! What generations does everyone collect? I collect all of them, but right now I'm focusing on G4 because they are easiest to find. My favorite is G1, but I love the cartoon and the way the new ones have pulled so many people in.

How about you?

Hooray, you're back! I'm glad you're getting the computer thing figured out, they're a blessing and a curse!
I'm fine with waiting another 2 weeks, I might be able to figure out some of the accessories I am missing from my playsets. I finally got tired of waiting for hubby to make shelves, so I set up a row of tables in the pony room and have been going through boxes like a crazy woman! I have castles in corners, and realized my Lullabye Nursery is very yellow but I don't want to replace it, it has too many memories. And I have a giant box of accessories and furniture, but I'm not sure what anything goes to. I'll start going through that sometime...

while we wait, I have another question! Who would like to get McPonies in their swap box? I am planning on getting all of them while they are at McDonalds, and as many extras as I can stomach. I've actually made my family move our "out to eat night" to Tuesday and go to McDonalds until the pony promotion is over! So if you aren't able to get them yourself, who wouldn't mind getting some in a swap box? Especially the ones that blend nicely into seasons! LOL!

babystarz, I think I found the site you were talking about, it hasn't had any attention since 2008. I DID bump into something about a Midwestria meet, but don't have time right now to look for more info- pesky job.
I'm not sure if I made it sound like WI didn't need to be part of the site, I totally think they should. Where does "Midwest" end? Like on a map, is Missouri still Midwest?

sabathamk, hi! I think the date is set for the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend, it seems to work out for most people- sorry to those it doesn't! But really, who needs family vacations? But I also think that when Babystarz gets the midwest site set up, it won't be too complicated to find other pony people or to make more region-central pony meets, which means northern MN could have a meet, and that would make it easier for you! For all of us!

Nicely done! And some people may accuse you of not achieving your goals! LOL!

Well, I've always thought a map with our locations would be fun- I wanted to do it at last year's meet, but I just ran out of time. Other than that, I picture something similar to the Arena or Trading Post, just more MN oriented.
I haven't ever seen anything on a meet for Iowa or either of the Dakotas, though WI has a very nice meet every year. Maybe there's a way to make it a Midwest sort of site, so we can include those states?

Hi there! I messaged Sternen and she said her computer is down and she's working on getting it fixed. We're still doing this swap, it's just being pushed back a little bit. I know I HATE trying to do any online stuff from my phone, and that's what she's stuck doing right now.
Dragonflitter, that makes sense! I always think it would be so strange to live somewhere that doesn't have little ice-shack villages 3 months out of the year, but I imagine that people in Florida would think it's strange to have all your trees lose their leaves!

I know I would be there pretty often, and it would be really convenient to set up mini-meets and find pony people close to us! Babystarz, it sounds like a great idea if you are willing to go through the effort! Just let me know if there's anything that us less-than-tech-savvy folk can do to help!
