there where several ponies that I wanted but never got.
I wanted the Megan and Sundace set so badly as a child. Even back then, standing in the store wanting them so badly, I understood my parents couldn't afford them :( But that Christmas My parents did get me a fakie purple unicorn that came with a purple haired doll. :) I absolutely loved them. Looking back its that set that makes me realize just how important fakie ponies are!
The other ones I wanted so badly where SS Fifi (Because I had baby Fifi) and Baby Dancing Butterflies. I loved having Mommy baby sets. The only other one I can think of is Lucky.

Pony Corral / Re: Anybody seen the Suprise bags?
« on: March 05, 2012, 07:55:48 PM »
I went to two different Walmarts to find Blind Bags, and it was obvious that they were supposed to be in stock, but they were sold out for about a month.  When I finally saw some, it was a full box and I took my pick! (I had some of the identification numbers memorized.)  Heh, when I saw those, I was so shocked that I jumped up a bit and ran to the bags.  Just like a kid, huh?  :P

Is there a list of the identification numbers somewhere? I bought my first two bags today and am afraid I'm hooked on them, ;) but at $2  pop I can't afford duplicates

Off Topic / Re: Kids and random pickyness!
« on: February 26, 2012, 07:00:43 PM »
The one thing I have little patients for is picky eaters.  :lookround:  Now I was the pickiest kid ever, there was only one or two things I'd eat... at least at home, because I knew I could get what I wanted to eat if I refused to eat what was made for diner. I am so glad I grew out of that! (helped along by a few times in my early adulthood of having a very limited food budget) Now I enjoy a variety of food and trying new things. :)
I don't really like the idea of hiding veggies and stuff in food as that isn't teaching a child how to eat healthy. Picky or not everyone has food they don't care for, what I did with my daughter was make up a list on an index card. She was aloud to pick 5 foods she didn't like and I wrote them on the card. The rules where if a food wasn't on her list she had to eat it, and she was not aloud to change the list during meal time! She could add new foods to the list, but only if something else was taken off the "Doesn't have to eat list". She also had to be specific, she couldn't put Vegetables on the list but could put green beans. Or she couldn't put all pasta on the list but could put Mac and cheese with elbow macaroni.
I found it worked really well, She wasn't as picky as she felt she had some control over what she didn't want to eat, and I had less surprise pickyness
I have also found that the more I let my daughter help me plan and more importantly prepare the meals the more she likes to eat it!

I love neopets my friend got me into playing it about 3 years ago. :)
I'm a little mad at the lab ray right now as the last 8 zaps have been gender changing zaps, poor neopet doesn't know what gender it is anymore. lol
I don't like the ads either, so me and a friend split the cost of a year of membership (you can add I think 5 account per premium membership) and not only are there no ads but you get the super shop wizard. :)

Off Topic / Removing Smoke Smell From Car??
« on: February 21, 2012, 07:19:36 PM »
I just got a new (to me) minivan for a great deal! :) The only problem... It absolutely reeks of cigarette smoke :X I had to drive it home with all the windows down. (no offense to any smokers) I just can't handle that smell as it triggers my migraines.
So any tips would be greatly appreciated   especially any tips not involving specialty smoke cleaning products that cost a fortune.

but then again it has been around 9 years since G3 debuted. Longer then you might think at first!

wow I feel really old right now O.o But then I remember seeing G1 merchandise in the store. ;)
I still see the occasionally G3 merchandise. I prefer it to G4 only because G3 is closer in look to G1 then G2 or G4 was. Honestly, I'm just patiently waiting for G5.  :lookround: if the trend holds we'll get normal looking ponies again. LOL

Pony Corral / Re: What Have You Lost Over the Years?
« on: February 02, 2012, 05:35:03 PM »
I'm missing most of my childhood ponies  I had all my ponies and every single accessory, pamphlets and back cards to all my childhood ponies... When I moved out of state for 8 years everything was left in storage. When there was a problem with the storage area (stupid flooding) my brother saved what he could. He only saved about half the adult ponies and only one of the baby ponies. Everything else was lost. :( The ones that hurt the most to loose was Baby Ribbon, Baby Tictac toe and Milkweed and Tumbleweed as they where my favorites. I still haven't been able to replace them and will probably never get all of their accessories back.
The only pony I lost after starting my adult collection was the pink adult sea pony (can't think of her name off hand) I found her at a flea market for a dollar and some where between the booth and my car I managed to loose her.

Off Topic / Re: I just digitized about 2,500 family photos *faint*
« on: January 25, 2012, 05:26:50 PM »
WoW that is a lot of work!! I know I've been slowly going through all the photo albums, It takes a lot of time to scan crop label! What takes the most time is trying to label the older pictures as it takes awhile for my mom to remember who a lot of the people are. LOL
But its nice to have them, Not only so they can be scene better but the peace of mind of knowing there are back up copies of those irreplaceable photos!! As I digitalized my photos I have copies sent to both my brothers, on my laptop on my back up hard drive and onto CDs in the fire safe. Which may seem like over kill but last February my dear friend's house burned down and everything was lost including all of the family photos. :( Which is what prompted me to start backing up my photos.

« on: January 25, 2012, 05:14:07 PM »
I've already given up looking for a job because I got a D in maths and english GCSE's. I hope to open up my own vintage video game shop, but everybody is putting me down, saying that I can't do it...

I hope you are able to open your vintage game shop! Vintage games and systems are really sought after but increasingly hard to find as the majority of chain game stores like Games stop don't carry any of the older games.

Back on topic, The job situation where I live is truly horrible, especially since the GM plant shut down. My friends husband has been out of work since. He had worked there for 25 years!!! He can't find a job because he has no other experience combined with his age no one will hire him :(

Pony Corral / Your Pony Room Pictures
« on: January 22, 2012, 04:10:27 PM »
In a little over a month from now I'll be moving into my new place which has a small spare room where I can build my very own pony room! I'm so excited I can't wait to start setting up shelves and arranging my collection. In the mean time I want to see pictures of your pony rooms and displays to tide me over and give me arrangement ideas.

there are those small hand held stitching gadgets, but they really don't work very well. I can't sew by hand (no mater how hard I try I can't get it to look right) Like you everytime I tried to use a sewing machine it would never work right... they were usually older second hand machines that where a nightmare to thread and try to adjust the tension and just didn't work right. So I gave up trying to sew. Until I tried the brand new sewing machine I just bought my mom for christmas... that thing is so user friendly! As are most newer machines. And even has an automatic needle threader so you don't have to put your fingers near the needle! (that always made me nervous)
I second the quilting idea. they're a larger project and where traditionally sewn by hand. :)

Off Topic / Help Me Pick Paint Colors!
« on: January 21, 2012, 07:25:22 PM »
As I mentioned in an earlier topic I'm going to be moving soon. I'm going from a tiny apartment to a large 3 bedroom house. The best part since the whole house needs to be repainted my future landlord told me I could pick out the paint colors!!! (as long as its not to dark) While I am super excited about it, it's also very intimidating as I've spent my whole life in white walled rental places. So far I've only been able to decide on the color of my bedroom. So I could use some whole house color scheme advice! Never having had the opportunity to paint before its tempting to go nuts with color, but I also want the house to look nice and flow together even though its an older house (built in the 1890's) with a kind of boxed in layout.

I need to decide room colors for:
~ Entry/hallway (dark wood - trim, doorways and hard wood floor)
~ Stairway and upstairs hall: Might need to tie in with the entry way color wise as the stairs start by the front door. The stair rail is dark wood, but all the doors/frames and trim upstairs can all be painted)
~ Living Room: off the entryway (dark wood - trim, doorways and hard wood floor)
~ Dining room: Off entry way (dark wood - trim, doorways and hard wood floor as well as darker wood paneling on lower part of wall up to chair rail)
~ Family Room: Off dinning room (dark wood - trim, doorways and hard wood floor)
~ Kitchen: Off of dinning room (doorway from dining room and the cupboards are all dark wood - all other trim, doorways and center island are currently white and can be painted) I'm kind of thinking maybe a nice country blue and white, or a soft pale yellow?
~ Half Bath off of Kitchen: Complete blank slate, as the walls, trim and sink cabinet need painting and the floor needs new linoleum which I get to pick as well. visitors can't see pics , please register or login

UPSTAIRS:
~ The upstairs bathroom: has a dark wood sink cabinet. The linoleum needs to be replaced as well so its pretty much a blank slate as well.
~ My Room: Leaning towards pale lilac with white trim  :)
~ My Daughters Room: She's trying to decide between pink and sky blue
~ And the Most important room color... THE PONY/craft room! (think I'm most excited about this room!)

Any advice, tips, or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
