The forlock is behind the stall door. It looks to be the exact same pony. I have the pony in hand so i have done comparisons by recreating the scene and it looks exact to me.

Her symbols are not like scandinavian gusty in shape.  Her stems have an arced curve where scandi gustys are usually straight. I remember we did the photo comparisons in the old thread. However the symbol color looks to be a dead match to scandi gusty.

I completely disagree Tafetta. I am pretty sure that my sundance is the exact one in the catalogue. The same exact symbol size and location. Hair looks identical too. And everyone stateside that has seen her in person agrees with this as well.

This pony is a true treasure and i am truly thankful to have an amazing piece of hasbro history like her.

I dont understand why she couldnt have been at a gathering in the UK in the  late 90s and she said they had other toys there than just my little pony.  I had a follow up conversation with her and it wasnt an massive gathering. She said it was a small group of 25 people. I remember going to such gatherings myself in the 90s that were a small group of peoplr getting together. So the story doesnt sound so unplausabld to me.

Yes ive seen babydolls reverse gusty. We have done comparisons on the weave.
The only difference between hers and my confirmed one is that hers is missing the factory glue on the weave.

I know several arena members have reverse gusty. Yes babydoll has one too.
I just know of the original two confirmed ones were wolfchick and delaneys. and then there are like 3 others that members have found. So maybe 5 total on the arena.

Still waiting to hear back from that catalogue collector PKW

CP subdance was probanly intended for international release perhaps after US plans for her release didnt work out since the catalogue photo we have of her reflects her with an early show stable. There was a cp applejack made where in the US they released shy pose applejack. I think this is the case with cp sundance but plans did not go through to mass produce her in the states so the idea was taken to the UK.  We dont know how the prototype creation process worked or what offices were in collaboration with one another. The idea could have come from the US and was transfered to the UK office with the prototype . Who knows.

I want to clarify i did not say these prototypes were actually from the UK - only that these ponys were found there. Please reference my earlier post.  So the UK might have served as a type of headquarters for international releases. This is my hypothesis.

I have several prototypes in my collection found in the UK. I am not saying they were made in the UK. Just found there.

And the UK has been referred to by lots of collectors as a dumping ground for international protos. Weather or not this is an official hasbro dump or a coincidence if traveling pony owners certainly many prototypes have been found in the UK.

The prototypes i have in my collection that were found in the UK are prototype sunnybunch, prototype painting time, prototype cp sundance and the confirmed reverse gusty. I remember those alternate uk babies found in different poses too and prototype playtime and music time that were found with prototype painting time at a carboot sale.

And the records ive located for the delaneys confirmed reverse gusty found in the late 80s stated she was found there too.

[splitting this from the Rusty thread Love pkw xxx]

That would be awesome if anyone had a scandinavian catalogue

There were originally two confirmed reverse gustys that were found in the late 1990s. The first confirmed one was found by wolfchick in a Uk pony lot. We know the uk was a dumping ground for prototypes so that may explain how she got there.

Wolfchick sold her to brickhaven who sold her to Stormy who sold her to
Sarahbee who sold her to me. So she has been extremely well documented and had some famous owners in the collecting world. I believe she was also shown at ponycon.

The second one was found in the late 90s as well by the delaneys. I believe a member here now owns her.

I was given the info by Clipper :) Just combed through the messages again. I assumed it was this year but he didn't say when.
My mistake.

He said it happened in Indiana at the Pony Fair and an attendee bought one from a former employee.

I have the wonder woman and the star riders pegasus promotional prototypes in my prototype collection. They were sold by a former mattel employee who was the designer of the horses.  They were made by Mattel in 1991 and the line was never produced. However a very limited run of them (for the pegasi two of each since their metallic finish was expensive for the factory to make) were made and were taken to toy fairs and promotional meetings to promote and gain financial support for the line. Catalogue photos were also made with the prototypes and Mattels 1992 catalogue feature 6 pages promoting the line including photos of the pegasi. The line didnt get the support it needed sadly and they canceled it. The official review was that investors did not think girls wanted to play with dolls that fight. What a pity- There was even a tv series suppose to be made.

Anyways. Thats what i think the cotton candy symbol flat foots were. An initial run of Promotional prototype releases that were given to employees to take to toy fairs and promotional meetings to promote the launch of the line.   Note they also appear in catalogue photos and the MOC one was sold by a former employee.

If anyones curious here are the pegasi protos

Aparently a MOC bluebelle with cotton candy symbols was sold by a former hasbro employee in the Indiana pony meet. (not sure what year this happened) This means she was probably a very limited promotional first run. How exciting. I am hoping to see pictures if anyone here was the lucky buyer!

Also excited that there are more out there for us to find!!

I have counted 12 so the 10-20 mark is very accurate.

This is true but we have done extensive comparisions and if i were a betting woman id wager she was prototyped for the fairy tale scandinavian line. ;)
