The Dollhouse / Removing Face Paint ???????
« on: January 21, 2015, 10:12:59 AM »
Hi All!

I've just started work on my first custom Ever After High doll.  Previously I've done Blythe.  So far, I've torn the stitching where I had difficulty removing her hair (a warning to others who may be working on a reroot)  I'm hoping to patch it up with some glue.  As its my first, I'm ready for some patch ups - lol.

I have a question to those of you who are working on custom face ups.  How do you remove the paint?    So far, nail polisher remover didn't do the job.  I've had her soaking in Varsol, but even when I've used a brush, her face paint only fades - doesn't come off.

Any tips?

Thanks,
Laurabythelake

I'm always hesitant to debox so, I actually prefer buying dolls out of box.  I generally expect a bit of a bargain when I buy out of box, unless the doll is HTF.  I sympathise with your plight - lol!

There seems to be "what they are worth"  and "what can you get for them right now".  At the present time, they are a slow sale and difficult to get true value for, in my opinion.

Just bought a couple of nude dolls to see how they are.  I always swap out for an obitsu body on all my Pullips.  The two that are coming are:  Briar and Cerise.  They look kinda nice.  I'm looking forward to their arrival.  I never really jumped on the monster high bandwagon.  I have the first two complete series of Bleeding Edge Goths.  I really liked Hestia - but she seems to have gone away!
The playsets with Ever After High are really cool.  Dolls and Tea Parties - who wouldn't!!!

Most of these ponies were purchased here on the arena forum.  They are all in very good condition for collectors.

I need to locate some shipping boxes.  So I won't be shipping until at least next week.  I ship by post and charge postage.

If you like any of these, I could put them aside for you.

It depends on the condition.  I wouldn't say it's a "good" price - it's more of a normal ebay price.  But then you get them all at once, if that's what you want?  I found the red one was the most expensive and hardest to get, in my experience.

I think $45 ea is a good price.

Off Topic / Re: What is the population of the city you live in?

Toronto, ON

Used to love it...now I find it's just TERRIBLE.  I've always lived downtown - moved to the suburbs when the G20 came.  I still work downtown but.....sidewalks are too narrow - transit is HORRIBLE - there is no parking to be had - events I would normally enjoy have turned into mob scenes.

This used to be a wonderful place to live...now it's just a hole and a laughing stock.

Much sadness....

This is my girl Never May.  She was my first bjd and is still my fav.  She is a Serendipity Nightmare Sharmin.  I have two of these dolls.

I also have a couple of Catsys I'm very fond of and some Luts Vampire dolls I might consider selling.
