Pony Corral / Re: 7 Deadly Sins of MLP Collectors
« on: February 05, 2019, 02:02:48 AM »
What a great game! I need to put a bit of thought into this.  :wonder:

Greed: Your most expensive and least expensive figure.
My most expensive figure must be the wishing well, and the least expensive get to be one of my fakies that I usually get for half a dollar or so.

Wrath: A figure you have a love-hate relationship with.
That's got to be my scandinavian exclusive porcelain Firefly! She's so rare and unique but she's also... ugly to me. I started collecting the porcelains because their soft pastel apperance and she can't really compete with the others on that. She's just not well made or beautiful - she's just rare. I've been considering seller her and I most likely will some day. But at the same time, if I do that I'll probably never own her again since I've ever just seen this one.

Gluttony: This could be splurging, such as a big lot/trade, going wild at a store/online/toy convention. Or a character you army build.
I wish I had some real pony-gluttony in me. But even when I was into collecting the most I never had tons of ponies - I'm just to careful (or cowardly) with what I buy. But I do have one exeption - My soma collection. I could collect thousands of these and never be satisfied!

Lust: One of your most favorite figs ever and why.
Applejack! She was my first porcelain and my heart just skips a beat when I hold her - she's truly the pearl of my collection and I can clearly recall the moment I found her.

Pride: A figure you are proud of. This could be a reward for a real life goal, a custom/commission, one you scrimped and saved for, one you got for a killer deal, a minty fig, a rare variant or mib etc.
It's Applejack :P :newpony: I did get her for a killer deal - less than a dollar at a second hand store.

Sloth: Something you don't like doing, or are lazy about. i.e dusting, spa days, restoration, cataloguing.
Styling. I'm okay as far as straw curls go but I'm not really good at it. So I prefer collecting hair-free ponies  :sheepish:

Envy: Ultimate Grail. Perhaps an unobtainable one.
I saw a pocelain I've never seen before go on an online auction-site. And I was about to bid on it but I fell asleep    I'll probably never get a chance on that one again and I'll never know if it was a custom or a real deal.

I have the orange one (who's waiting for new hair) - and she's my very first pony (for real!), my twin sister got a beautiful and very pink one at the same time - I think it was for our 4th birthday. I named mine "Maskros" which is swedish for Dandelion.

And I was crazy about her, her pretty flowers, lights and "neighing". The only bad thing was that she had so little hair

Wow Ribbon! That's a beautiful collection!  :lovey:
I don't have a large collection, but back when I was collecting actively I was totally in love with Dancing butterflies "shy" pose. :-)

Congratulations on you anniversary!

We've known each other for 10 years now, and been living together for 8 years. We're getting married in June  To think time flies past this quickly  It surely does not feel that long!

Pony Corral / Re: Did you have any rare ponies as a kid?
« on: March 01, 2018, 04:38:14 AM »
I didn't have any cool or rare ponies as a child. Sadly T__T Though I loved my Magic Star to pieces! A friend of mine had Mimic and I was sooooooo jealous because of the movie...

Aww, they are so sweet! I love seeing collections that are very specific like this. It must be so satisfying to have them complete.
Do you collect the US release porcelains too?

Thank you <3 Yes I do! I still miss four of the singe pieces and all the big ones except the Wishing well, so I'm guessing I'll be looking a few more years until I complete my collection of the US ones ^__^

OHMYGOODNESS!!       What a beautiful sight!  You have assembled an absolutely stellar collection, congratulations!  And I have never seen the Firefly before, I had no idea she even existed.  Seriously, WOW!  :frolic:

A few months ago I finally finished the standard US sets (which was challenging enough to find/import unbroken!), but I have yet to find any of these gorgeous Euro version on eBay or anywhere else.  Recently someone told me about Tradera, but even when I've tried running the pages through a translation app I have been really struggling to navigate the site  :(

Do you have any advice you can offer regarding Tradera tips, or any other other sources I might be able to track down any more of these?  Any and all help would be extremely appreciated!  Thank you   ^.^

Thank you! I'm so happy about them :-)

I've found almost all of them at Tradera. They usually come up for auction in January-February and July (when the Swedes are all out off money because of the holidays) so that's when I reccomend you keep an eye out, but if I'd stumble upon them I'd happily send you a PM/link to it.
I think the best words to search for them on Tradera are "my pony porslin" or "my pony figurin" "my pony porslinsfigur". I'd leave out the "little" in my little pony because many swedes spells it wrong, like littel..
That's all I cound think of for now :) Hope it helps!

Pony Corral / Re: Funny or awful ways your ponies have been shipped

The best way I ever got a pony shipped to me was when I traded a porcelain AJ here on the arena for a Cherries Jubilee and she came perfectly packaged in bubble wrap -and- lots of delischious taffy filled the rest of the box to the brim!

I like her! I have never seen her in good enough condition for me to get her though, since I'm overly picky with my collection. But the colors and the pose are soo nice <3

If people don't include details like this in feedback, sellers continue to behave in this manner without any incentive to do differently.

I can't agree enough! To just leave a few lines about something like this in your feedback is very valuable for the whole collector community.
