Off Topic / Re: Lets see pictures of your cats!
« on: March 24, 2015, 04:14:07 AM »
I have four kitties at the moment, and am so glad I do. Life us better with kitties :)

Ill start with my newest addition  (been residing here for two weeks and is very much at home) Pat (Pat the cat) who very much lives up to his name lol. I took my bestie to the shelter to have a look, and he won me over. I hadn't even seen him, went into the pen to check out one of the other cats when he came out of hiding and was all over me. I asked his age (11) and if he was a male (yes) and if he was fine with other cats (yes, not a fighter and a real smooch) and agreed to take him on the spot.

He barely leaves my side if im home. Im currently sitting on my bed and he is right next to me with his paw on my leg preening his belly. He was originally Chicko, but it was a pretty lame name so didn't stick.

Next is Sir Winston, another rescue from the shelter. He is our "baby" of the house at just 7 years old, we took him on a little over 12 months ago after losing our beloved torti, Miss Princess Tiffany. He was my mums choice, she couldn't resist that face of his.

Sir Winston was originally called Peekachoo, couldn't live with a dumbarse name like that, plus he needed a title (look at that face, it says it all lol) Hes the fat fluffy white persian in the front.

Next is the gorgeous Tiffany. She came to us at the grand age of 13, and gave us 5 years till she was 18, since her I haven't been able to adopt another kitten, and think ill probably always take on older kitties looking for a forever home. She passed away in Jan 2014 and left a huge hole in the household.

She was such a sweetheart, came to us in very poor condition with no idea about human affection, she learned very quickly that she loved cuddles, pats and to generally be in your space bubble, she really had no idea on personal space but we loved her for it.

And lastly are my two "originals", both we took on as kittens from the same litter 18 years ago. They are both old but in good shape for their age. Jack has always and always will be my little man (even if the others do share some cuddles from time to time) and Darla Boo is dads spoilt little brat.

Jack my odd eyed tabby (yes he has a yellow and a blue eye)

And Darla Boo the torti queen

Thanks everyone for sharing your pics and stories! All your animals are adorable :) petey boy is just gorgeous! Love the last photo of him scoffing down his ice cream treat lol, made me smile.

Little Pat is really doing well settling in here, hes come to me when I called for him and coming out of hiding for food / water without us taking him to it. The other delinquents don't seem bothered by him. I think he is definitely a good match for our house. His personality is starting to emerge too, such a smoochy boy!

I took my bestie to the animal shelter yesterday for support and a level head in adopting another kitty. My two oldies are getting on in age, and thought it was time to take on a new fur baby. I had 2 x 18 year olds (Jack the tabby and Darla Boo the torti) as well as a 7 year old Sir Winston a Chinchilla (persian x tabby).

We had picked out two cats, a little white girl or a champagne with ginger points boy, when I went in to visit the champagne boy in the cage a little tabby came out of hiding and was all over me like a rash, 11 year old "Chicko". I hadn't even seen him in there and immediately fell in love with his smoochy personality so took him home.

My parents weren't too fond of his original name so have renamed him Pat (pat the cat) lol.

So meet Pat :)

And just because, heres the rest of them. Jack :) (and yes he does have two different colored eyes for those of you that haven't seen him before) I didn't even realize until I got Pat home these two look so much alike.

I just did this for my boss (so much fun shopping for a baby!) I brought some clothes a size up from newborn, a baby blanket, a little rubber duck that checks the temperature of bath water isn't too hot for bub, and a stuffed dinosaur that was for birth upwards. There are some great suggestions here, and I am sure that you will find a perfect gift :)

He looks like a gilbert, cornelius, cecil. No idea why, just screams he needs an old fashioned ridiculous sort of name.

I don't at home, but I do at work with my toddlers. I bring in lots of my own stuff from home for them to play with, and often play with the kids. At home no.

Off Topic / Re: Musical Instruments! Who plays what!?
« on: January 14, 2015, 02:11:12 AM »
I don't have a musical bone in my body. I can however shake a tambourine, maracas, and play a triangle poorly. I work with kids and have at times had children cover their ears during one of my terrible singing sessions lol.

I would love to learn an instrument im just not coordinated enough :(

Toy Box & Games Cupboard / Re: Puppy Surprise - is it worth it??
« on: January 04, 2015, 11:52:19 PM »
Im 31 and wouldn't hesitate getting one at $11. The only ones ive seen in Australia are around $50AU, can't justify spending that on one, as tempting as they are :(
