*Raises hand slowly in a very embarrassed way*  Haven't been around for a little bit and actually clicked this by mistake - what a shock to see a pony I recognized!! You have no idea what it means to me that you actually like her!!! I'm so glad she went to an arena member!!

... No!.... *Holds doors closed to overflowing cupboard full of soft toys*  Okay seriously I have far too many but I could never let any of them go. I obviously still have everything from childhood but I've collected a lot more since I've been an adult  I've tried hard to cut down because I just don't have the room for them all but I can't resist certain ones. I like really realistic ones, especially rabbits (can never have enough rabbits!), foxes, deer (basically any woodland animals) and dogs - mostly German Shepherds, Huskies and similar. I also love Bambi and Thumper and I've got a massive Bambi that I bought off of ebay (can't remember if I got him for £5 or £10 now but it was an amazing price.. I imagine he was a lot more new!). I'm also desperate to collect the Farthing Wood softies but they're so expensive - when they eventually do come up, which is rare. I only have Dash the hare and Mole at the moment. I've got a couple of Lion King ones but not many (tend to be expensive. Mine are from childhood). My absolute wish would be to one day get Balto and Jenna (I can dream!) And Spirit and Rain (again, I can dream!)

We actually haven't had snow where I live for a couple of years (minus a light dusting that doesn't settle, so I'm not counting that). If we get it this year it's going to be a little heartbreaking for me as it will be the first time it's snowed since I lost my dog. He adored the snow and we used to go and play in it. He absolutely loved playing with snowballs - I'd throw them and he'd jump up and catch them. He could go for longer than I could. I lost him in January this year (so coming up on a year) and as I say it hadn't snowed for a couple of years so he completely missed out. I know it's going to be heartbreaking if it settles this year, knowing that he should have been here for it (was just about to turn 8 when we lost him suddenly to cancer) Some action shots from a few years ago: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or login

I THINK if you heat the legs enough the plastic will soften enough to pop the plugs out. Then just make sure the new tail is the same thickness as the old one so the knot/tie in it isn't so big it gets in the way of putting the legs back in.
Hmm I was wondering about heat, though the plastic plugs seem quite large. But then again it was assembled at the factory somehow so it must have been pushed through the body at some point? I'll give that a go, maybe leave her in some hot water for a bit and see if I can do it. Will post here if it works so you know too, NsMLPonies  Thanks! I suspect it's not possible to retain the movement in a customized magic motion without making modifications  I got the legs off much easier than I thought, didn't need to heat the pony but it turns out there's a peg/shaft thing running between the two legs and it snapped. It's probably possible to repair the joint, maybe in a similar way to how teddy bears arms and legs are put together? I'll see what my Mum can come up with as she makes teddy bears and I imagine the principle is the same. But it's all very narrow inside, barely any room to even fit a new tail so I think she'll be a challenge.

Hey everyone I was just wondering if anyone has ever customized a G2 magic motion in Queen Sunsparkle's pose (the one with the moving back legs) and if so how they removed the tail and added the new one? There are large plastic plugs holding the rear legs in which block the tail hole. I can only think to remove the legs but I'm not sure that's possible without slicing through the plug. Does anyone know how to do it? I've got a Queen Sunsparkle already partially baited (head and mane removed) and I'd like to work on her but I'm not too sure how to sort out the tail! While on the topic of G2's I was just wondering if anyone's ever done anything with Full Motion Light Heart (the one that came with the canopy bed, all four legs and head move)? I've got a few hanging around somewhere, some quite baity but I've never been too sure what to do with them. Any ideas? Thanks

Thank you Just realised it doesn't show so well in the pictures but the streaks in her hair are actually silver (DH 'Moonlight'), not white. It looks stunning in person, the pictures really don't do it justice. It's one of my three favourite colours but it's always out of stock  Think this was the last I had left

She's so beautiful! How did you make all of the tiny stars? I'm going to make a galactic custom but am not sure how to make the tiny stars. I've seen people use a toothbrush to add the stars, but would love to know how you did it.

Thank you I've tried different methods for stars and the one I've personally settled on for the best effect is (unfortunately!) simply dotting with a very small paintbrush. It takes a long time but it's worth the effort as the stars look better. I've used a toothpick/cocktail stick in the past but the problem with that is you end up with them about the same size (they look more realistic if you vary the size), you sometimes get a dot in the middle without paint where the cocktail stick touches the body and for whatever reason I found the stars aren't always round. You could experiment with it though. I've never tried the flicked toothbrush method myself though I know what you mean. I've always been worried that it will look too 'splattery' if that makes sense  But you could give it a go. I'd make sure the brush isn't loaded up with paint so it ends up as more of a dry mist than a splatter. I must give it a go some time. Personally I'd experiment with it and practice before doing it directly on a pony, that way if you're not happy with the result you can try another method. Can't wait to see your finished custom! (translation: we want pics when s/he's done ) Edit: Oh, one quick thing! Be very careful handling the pony whilst painting stars! You wouldn't believe the amount of times I've forgetten where I've painted, moved to paint a different part of the pony and found the stars all smeared because I held the pony where I'd just painted  I do it at least once on nearly every pony. You then have the lovely job of having to cover that section up and start again

 *Takes own recent space-themed customs and hides them in a cupboard out of sight* Oh wow, she is absolutely stunning!! I love her eyes and the paintwork is just perfect. Sponges and brushes can work but aren't the easiest thing to work with if you're trying to get an 'airbrushed' finish. You certainly achieved it! The swirls of colours are just amazing!

Thank you all I'm quite happy with how she came out in the end, considering about half way through I had a panic moment where I thought I'd done her all wrong Ohh she's lovely! :o How did you get that to look so delicate and realistic?
It's kind of hard to explain. I kind of paint it on and then immediately 'wipe' the line (gently!) with a finger - it pulls it out and gives it a whispy effect. Kinda hard to explain but it would make sense if you tried it lol. Takes a little practice but it's not too bad once you've got the hang, just as long as you're careful. I do it with different shades to give the different colours. That works for the base colours, then you paint the highlights and details over that. The real hard bit is the stars - they take forever you have to be very careful not to smear them as you go (which I always do somewhere and have to start again ) But hey, I love space ponies and I enjoy doing them so it's worth sitting there for ages painting tiny white dots Nowhere near as good as some of the nebula-themed ponies I've seen but I still enjoy making them. I probably explained that badly but I'm tired so that's my excuse...

Hey everyone Just wanted to share these two. This is Citrus Fizz. I don't like to customize G1's but this poor Sunspot had a very badly rubbed symbol, no tail and a badly cut mane. Other than that though her body was good and I'd always wanted to customize a sparkle pony so here she is now Her symbols were painted, shaded then covered with fine PTE glitter (the same glitter I use for symbol restorations) and her hair put into ringlets.
