So, so many songs are important to me. Many bands and groups, but I can think of a few I can share.
There will come a soldier, Who carries a mighty sword He will tear your city down, O lay o lai, o Lord! O lay, o lai, o lay o Lord! He will tear your city down, O lay, o lai o Lord! -Soldier, Poet, King by the Oh Hellos
Even now, you mark my steps, Lovely Bitter Water, All the days of our delights are poison in my veins! And I know I shouldn't love you, I know... -Bitter Water by the Oh Hellos
That day I prayed for your embrace Graced my face with tears since I knew you won't hear Anything I plead, But I won't walk away, By your side, hold me tight, always! Lonesome souls, connected by a broken pulse Take some solace in the fact, We've all lost things we treasured most! Taking each step lightly, Never say sorry for continuing to believe, Our shared fate awaits, So come with me! -Mirai from the Madoka Magica Soundtrack.

A toy is meant to be played with, not necessarily handled with white gloves. So if a toy develops wear and tear-- then that's most likely because it WAS loved and played with.
A toy that isn't appreciated is most likely shoved in a corner and ignored.
That said, I got my curious side out on mcdonald toys because I knew they were cheap. So my friend and I deliberately do damage to those toys to kind of see what would happen. Although then we got banned from eating McDonalds but it wasn't that big of a deal since I didn't like the food.
I agree you there! You should see the Transformer I mentioned... she has worn out joints, chipped paint, and is just a mess to behold. But she was loved. No, she's not collector's material, but she was one of my favorite toys. The same with a bunch of my Barbies and stuff. Yes, they're still in good shape, but a Collector wouldn't buy them!

My dad was in the military too, and we also didn't have a lot of money. It was pretty well drilled into mine and my brother's heads that if we intentionally destroyed a toy, we would be unlikely to get another and if we didn't keep track of them, we may not get a replacement. In fact, the only time I remember getting a damaged toy replaced was when someone stepped on one of my Transformers and broke her. It was an accident, so it was no big deal. (Yes, I totally did own Transformers, LOL. I was also sick with bronchitis at the time.)
As a result of this, we still had the vast majority of our toys. In recent years, we've been giving them away to deserving children or charities. We treated our toys like treasures, and there's still many we won't part with.

I actually really like her! She's got that cutesy feel of the G1/G3 ponies that I really like. I was nowhere near G1's heyday , being born as the line was on the way out, but G1 is my favorite. I just love how soft and round they are.

Hey all, I'm hoping you pony fixing geniuses can help me with this poor Dazzle. I got her in a bait lot, but since she was in such good shape, I wanted to try to fix her. Her hair is perfect, her cutie mark is perfect, I just can't get rid of this crusty stuff! She's had baths in Dawn dish detergent and baking soda. I'm reluctant to try acetone, but I'm running out of options. Help! https://www.flickr.com/photos/182097690@N04/albums/72157709561212802

My first ponies were Lightheart and Ivy, with their playsets (the canopy bed for Lightheart and the vanity and jewelry for Ivy). Alas, they were spoiled in a house fire. Never saw them again. Modern day speaking, my first was a Crystal Empire Masquerade Fluttershy, then a G1 Sundance I got at a ren faire.

Hello, I'm new in town and I'm glad to be here. I'm a twenty-something collector and restorer of dolls and toys. A new passion, and business venture is vintage Ponies... and well, I'm just glad it's something so lovely that people want to buy! I have a small collection of ponies, mostly G4s, with one G1, one G2, and a 35th anniversary reproduction. (To date, I have Sundance, Lightheart, Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Starlight Glimmer, and Skydancer) My forum name is a reference to my favorite pony from my childhood, Lightheart, and my avatar is a DollDivine paper doll duo of my two favorite ponies, Skydancer and Lightheart.
I live in New York State, and have a sole proprietorship business. I live with my parents and brother, our dog, my rabbit, and various collectibles. I am also pursuing my Master's degree this fall and am also a writer. Thank you all for reading!
