Thanks, it's very 3D :-D It was a challenge to photograph without too much shadow.

Cool! Could I pick October? It's my birth month and I have a great fall idea for Blossom. When is the deadline?

Hi peeps,

Just wanted to share a picture I did a couple months ago for a friend. It's made out of paper layers, PanPastel and marker. I drew a sketch and made a cloud background with PanPastel, then cut and layered the paper for the background. All the other pieces are cut from cardstock and I used foam dots to give her a little lift. My friend loved it! I have another one in the works too. Stay tuned! I have been so busy preparing for an Etsy craft sale that all I have been doing is making and assembling. I can't wait to go back to making something a little more personal :-) You can find it on DevArt here - http://calzephyr.deviantart.com/art/Fluttershy-Papercut-552462787

Are there local conventions you could have a table at? When I started selling my photography, I had only three pictures (heh!) and $12 in sales. It's grown since then...but sometimes just getting out there can be a fun learning experience too :-) You might like the Artist Alley International Network on Facebook too. It's a super friendly, helpful and enthusiastic group.

Thank you Kiwimlp, I couldn't believe it was two stories either! They seem to be very successful - there was an antique mall closer to home that closed down, sadly.

Haha, yes Buddyboymama, I could round up the other playsets, but this one is so special. I always wanted a dollhouse as a kid too!

Thanks guys! I have a few more accessories to round up, I think. I'm surprised there were two bath tubs and swings :-)

Hi peeps,

I'm more active on Facebook than here, but over the Labour Day weekend we went to my hometown, Edmonton, for a short getaway. If you live in Alberta, you may recall how it rained and rained no matter where you were in the province :-D This nixed any outdoor activitives. We decided to go to the Muttart Conservatory since I hadn't been there for decades, and on our way out of the hotel we stopped at a brochure rack to see if there were coupons. We found a business card for the Old Strathcona Antique Mall and decided to go there. My husband loves old stuff as much as I do :-)

It was a bit of trip down memory lane as there was lots of hockey stuff from when I was a kid. The antique mall is also huge - like a two story grocery store. All the booths were nicely curated.

I found a Princess Royal Purple with mashed eyebrows that made her look like a Muppet! The FB group helped me ID her, but sadly she had some pony cancer, so I took her back. I was really feeling bummed out - everyone seems to find an amazing haul at thrift stores, but never me, woe!

Finally I found some Breyers and ponies on the second floor! I was sooooo excited, but then I looked at the price tags. They were soooo overpriced. $45 for a played with Gusty? Uhhhhh...nope!

After spending hours there we were almost ready to leave - everything was starting to look the same! Both of us were just hoping something would jump out and say "Buy me!"

I said to hubs, "I'm just going to take a quick look down this aisle and we can go. Did you see anything horse shaped?"

"Naw," he replied as he followed me. Then, holy cow, I found an MLP and LPS booth. I spotted the G1 nursery and claimed it. There were bags of G3s for $10 and I was just about to hunker down and see what else there was when three little girls just stopped short of me.

"Let's trade places," I said and they eagerly dug into the LPS while I chatted with their parents. Unfortunately the LPS wasn't the 90s kind. Would love to get my hands on some of the ponies. Once they left I realized that there weren't any other G1 treasures unless one considered a MOC Skydancer for $80 a bargain. I found a counter where I could inspect the nursery and gave it a whiff. Smoke free home!! It came with a big baggie of furniture as is all for $20. Holy cow!!!

Although I am not collecting much of anything any more, I had to have this. It looked like the baggie didn't have a pony in it though, but I just so happened to remember seeing Baby Tiddly Winks in one of the overpriced booths. There were two, one in poor condition and one in good condition, so I snagged her. Huzzah!

We left Edmontonian that same day and I cleaned the nursery the next morning. Some of the stickers were lifting, but that was easily fixed with sticky squares. Lots of Dawn, scrubbing, Q-tipping and bamboo skewering later, it smelled and looked amazing. It had not yellowed at all and it really wasn't that dirty - just surface dirt that anything picks up. I was able to find another Edmonton on the FB group, Ouizza, who kindly sold me some of the missing accessories :-)

I have no idea where to display it - it's freaking huge!! I remember a lot of fun times playing with my friend Shannon and her nursery. It was something I had really wanted as a kid and attempted to make my own out of cracker boxes :-D

No problem! It's funny, I have PhotoShop at work and it's such a struggle to go back and forth.

I have  CorelDraw X5 by the way, but all the versions are similar. In Photo Paint, crtl +f7 opens the object docker. This pops open a panel like layers in PhotoShop. Corel has objects instead of layers. You should be able to open a JPG in Photo Paint and convert it, or paste it into a new CPT file and colour it that way by adding more layers. HTH!
