The Dollhouse / Re: Disney dolls discussion!

There is no classic doll of Alice from the current or recent Disney store range I'm afraid :(  The LE does not use a unique Alice face, it uses the same face-mould as Snow White. I have seriously considered rehairing a classic or 17" Singing Snow White in blonde to create an Alice similar to this one XD (the dress actually doesn't actually look too impossible to recreate something similar, just layer up on frills and frills!)

I want her too!

wow! those frozen girls are gorgeous!!
was wondering are the 12" ones articulated at all?
was thinking of ordering them

It keeps changing, but the current 2013 ones have articulated arms/elbows/wrists BUT NOT LEGS, they have barbie-like legs that do not bend at the knee.
The new 2013 12" Anna and Elsa DO have the articulated legs that bend at knee and ankle.
I think it differs...check specific doll online before buying, someone here will know!
The last 2012 princess dolls DID have fully articulated legs.
The first 2009 ones had very little articulation in arms and legs. A lot of people actually don't like the articulated legs on Disney dolls, they are a bit flawed, not as good as monster high articulation for example.
If buying second hand on ebay do check which year release it looks like

:D Sleeping Beauty to be released on diamond edition blu-ray 2014 so it is her year :) And 2015 will be Jasmine! After that, the only princesses without the tall LE dolls will be Mulan and Pochahontas who already had special blu-ray releases but went ignored - so hopefully Disney will release them to complete the collection.

Then with all the princesses as LE's, they'll start making another collection, and another, and another, because that is what Disney just do.

Hope everyone gets their dolls soon!

It its verrry likely another LE Anna will be released with the dvd next year, in her snow outfit and cape.
Speculation is that maybe an LE Elsa will be released at the same time in her coronation gear!

When Rapunzel was released, there was a doll at movie release, and then ANOTHER dvd release. They also also did it with Brave.

Because more people will be more familiar with Frozen by dvd release, the edition size might be increased from 2500 to 5000 or 6000 for Snowy outfit Anna.
There is also a possibility of LE Hans and Kristoff. If they were made, it would probably be small edition of 500 like they did for Eric

:) (I've been really into LE doll stuff recently)

ANNA AND ELSA ARRIVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SOOOO HAPPY!!! (the second row of crystals on Elsa's dress are there because I put them there :D)
Love Anna's dress more than the stock photo! For display, it is sewn together at the bottom creating a bell-like shape, so I cut it freeee

See in this picture the lighter green sections are all joined to one another (I never noticed)

ELSA'S SHOES ARE GORGEOUS!

Hope everyone receives theirs sooon!

HOORAY I am getting a £40 refund from Disneystore, they said my dolls should have been £60 instead of £80 :D

Also for some reason I am banned from -popular fb doll page- for copying and pasting the message from Disney store UK (the one about overturning the decision on price) -fb page owner- deleted it, banned me, then post exact same thing

I am a bit freaked out and if you are here I am very very very sorry I was extremely excited and just wanted to share information and had no idea you wanted to be first to announce it that badly and would have preferred some sort of communication over banning  0________0 maybe it is some kind of mistake
(long-term follower who is very freaked out right now)

Apparently the only difference in the LE100 dolls (apart from being boxed together) is that they have extra crystals, all I can can clearly see a is few extras on Anna's dress and *sort of* see more on Elsa's sleeve....can't tell if the faces have different makeup in these pictures.

Personally, I think it's a ridiculous price for  plastic factory produced non-handpainted dolls with a few extra crystals,  when a much cheaper almost identical counterpart is available...

I am going to drop in Harrods on Friday just for the sake of having a look at them :) I will see if I can take a few pictures though I can't guarantee if they will be better than the ones we have already (I probably can't take my 'big' camera sorry :()

But so far, I only intend to get LE 2500 Anna and since I could only afford one and would debox her anyways

I wonder if the rich people will give to their darling three year old who loves disney to play with, I swear I can see this happening

*edit
By 'drop in' I mean I was going to London for that weekend anyway, so will go to Harrods for a look
I definitely can't attempt to buy these for people or anything when they are released, sorry

She looks so Beautifuly sad.

That's what I think too *__* She looks so lonely.

And I like how, although the doll is smiling, she has the same relaxed soft expression eyebrows (rather than sharp expression)

The Dollhouse / FOR SALE: Luts DELF El BJD , UK/Europe, any interest?
« on: October 28, 2013, 08:21:44 AM »
I don't like Den of Angels...I don't like Ebay...is it ok if I see if there is any interest here?
I don't like to ship stuff, so 'pickup' would be pereferable (UK, either London, or, Hampshire near Salisbury) I *may* be able to ship but it may be quite expensive I would need to research that and get back to you with a quote (heavy!! and I'm not quite accustomed to shipping large stuff)

I was thinking of asking £195. New boys are worth £277 from the site.
Keeping within Europe would help people avoid them pesky customs fees. My fee was over £40 when I bought him.

- Normal type flesh tone.
- Resin has not 'yellowed' he is even colour throughout.
- He is human, not elf
- Old 'boy' body type (similar height I think as 'new' boy, but not muscular. Does not have the extra joint in torso. When wearing clothes, all the boy body types look the same in my opinion. But please research old boy body type for Luts Delf boy if you are not familiar
- No damage but one ear has a piercing (bottom of lobe). Some scraping around the headcap (covered by wig anyway)
- Some putty stuck inside head (should not be problem)
- I completely removed his faceup , there is some very small dark staining in corners of his eyes; but, this is where you would expect to put the eye makeup anyway
- Can include his original glass eyes and underwear (no extra cost)
- Original box is missing
- I have some clothes and wigs for sale that could be included for small extra cost if you were also interested in those

I see a lot of people saying it's hard to choose, and it really is! but I find it really interesting XD Also I should answer clearly myself, and I'd keep the childhood ones :)

Quote
Honestly, having grown up as an only child and only grandchild, I was completely spoiled rotten  So I never seemed to grow attached to any of my toys, because I was constantly bombarded with new toys so much that I never felt love or attachment to any particular items  Thinking about it in that sense, actually makes me a little sad. My family was all about buying love, no time or attention, but all the toys a child could want (which although it sounds nice, it's really not).

I never considered that perspective on it before!

Pony Corral / Re: Hasbro Makes it Hard to be an adult MLP Collector
« on: October 27, 2013, 11:13:51 AM »
As a mom to a 4yo that Hasbro is marketing to, I can tell you how enraged I get when a new wave of ponies come out, and my daughter really wants, for example, Trixie, but adults have completely obliterated store stock. I go to every store within 20 minutes, as well as getting friends around the country to look, and I can't find a Trixie in store. I look on Amazon and eBay, however, and sure enough, you can find them, but jacked up 3-4x the price.

MLP was created for kids--and I get that those of us who grew up playing with them like to collect them, for memory sake and whatnot--and it should stay that way. I'm tired of moneygrabbing jerks buying out store stock to list it for outrageous prices somewhere else.

Yeah buying everything on the shelf only to resell is very rude. I don't have trouble in my home town but I can imagine that is frustrating.

Something I know is unpopular, but think Hasbro is doing right,  is making the mane 6 so widely and commonly available. Ok, so we are getting bored of them, already have them, don't need more. But, when I was a child, I really wanted the ponies that frequented the cartoon series like Wind Whistler, Paradise and Sweet Stuff for example, but those were no longer sold by the time I even knew about them.
It's great for kids that the mane 6 is always around.

Also, packaging nice exclusive ponies with an expensive playset like the carousel...ooh I see what they are doing. Most collectors want the pony, not the carousel. Carousel goes more cheaply on ebay, to a parent looking for their kid perhaps. Hasbro gets the full amount, the adult collector paid a lot but gets their pony, the child gets awesome discounted playset, may or may not even know there was an exclusive pony. And, the child may never have been able to get the playset otherwise. (I know of a few IRL instances of this already, it must happen a lot)

I wish there was more G1 realted stuff and acknowledgement of the women in the fanbase :(

Annoyed as I am about G4 I am going to try to remember how I felt about it when it happened...

I do think it has been uphill since G3.5. To me, G3.5 was the END of everything I liked about my little pony. I remember looking at the G3.5 ponies and thinking mlp was DEAD.
I was not interested in anything new being put out, I could only look back.
G4 came along made them cute again (G3.5 not being aesthetically pleasing in my opinion) G4 brought in a cartoon with a STORY full of LORE, with sun and moon ponies,  a developed world, family relationships and distinctive characters that went on adventures.
G4 was more than I ever hoped for actually...If someone described G4 to me, back in the pony dark ages (G3.5) I would have found it to good to be true

Also I think the chinese new year art pony is a positive step. I don't really like her much but hopefully there will be many art ponies

In my opinion the last sort-of interesting pony toy they made was the transparent glittery Wysteria and I'm not really excited for anything else recently

My family is moving and alot of my stuff is there (bad me). Some (newer) ponies are being sold on or given away. A loooot of other things also have to go.
I'm lucky to still have all my favourite ponies I had as a child and I love them, but there are a lot of cuddly toys I sort of miss a little when I see pictures of them. Anyway, this got me thinking -

Would you give up every pony you have bought for yourself since childhood, if it meant you could get back all your most precious childhood ponies? (even if it means giving up hundreds for the sake of 3 or 4?)

And if you still have them, which would you choose anyway?
