What's funny is that they are using the same graphix that Primark and Target use for their classic MLP stuffs.
That's probably the point.

They aren't really meant for us collectors. They are meant more for people who are into "fashion" and have a nostalgia for MLP but are too "mature" to collect toys. The kind of people who only spend their extra money on clothes and shoes
I think they're also meant for people who don't even like/aren't even interested in MLP and to whom the designs are all quite tacky, but they will wear them "ironically" and cite a high culture/low culture dichotomy (although Moschino is hardly high culture IMO). It's a bit like the catwalk fashion a couple of years ago for fast food branding and handbags that looked like a crumpled up old crisp packet but cost a squillion pounds. The good news is hardly anyone will buy any of this stuff and it will end up cut price in TK Maxx, and if it's on the catwalks then Zara and Topshop etc. will produce copy-cat versions on the high street very soon in a-little-bit-cooler-than-Primark cuts and fabrics. Hopefully. In which case I will totally be buying it all. ETA: Yup, Vogue are calling it "the latest in a line of boundary-breaking high-low capsule collabs".

When I first got Hopscotch I was quite surprised that her symbol actually had tiny little numbers one to ten in the hopscotch squares just like a real hopscotch pattern, and then I saw not only that but the numbers are slightly stylised to look like they've actually been hand chalked on a pavement, then I noticed that even the lines for the squares are slightly choppy like hand chalked lines. The level of thought and attention to detail on such a miniature motif are amazing.

I highly recommend Taffeta's website

Hong Kong CP Bowtie has long curly hair Hong Kong shy pose Bowtie had shorter hair
I'm not sure on Peachy, she got a lot of releases!
Love pkw xxx
Thank you. Taffeta's website is great. I've looked at it before but thank you for reminding me about it, I've just had another read (so fascinating!). So yes it answers the question about Bow Tie. To my shame I now realised I put the hair straighteners to my CP Bow Tie's factory curls because they were too frizzy Sorry community. I didn't know. But I still can't work out the deal with Peachy. Taffeta's scrapbook says she was released as a flat foot, but it's not clear on whether she was ever released with the shorter hair.

I've read the Wiki but still can't figure this out:
Bow Tie So in Europe as well as the "shy pose" Bow Tie there was also a Collector's Pose Bow Tie. My question is whether she only came as the "groom 'n' style" pony with very long straight mane/tail or if she also came as a "regular" CP pony with regular mane & tail (slightly curved).
Peachy Same sort of question - Peachy came with the Grooming Parlour playset, and she has the very long straight mane & tail. But was there also a regular Peachy with the regular type of mane & tail?
I want to complete my CP set, I already have the grooming style Bow Tie and Peachy but if there are also regular versions I want to get those too.
Thanks!!

When you pretend to yourself the pony you're about to buy is for your 5 year daughter but actually you know it's for you.

Oooh, this is a tough one but a really good one!!! I absolutely love Collector's Pose - to the extent that I'm not really interested in any other poses right now, apart from Posey pose perhaps - and I am trying to complete my CP set at the moment.
Very difficult to pick just two, but if I have to it would be Blossom and Bluebelle.
Blossom because she was the (one) pony I had as a child, and Bluebelle because I love her colours and her stars and her eye colour.
I'm interested to see not many other pony people picked these two as their faves. I think they are gorgeous classics, I also love how the two of them look together as their manes & tails match but their body colours complement.
I don't have Minty or Butterscotch yet but they are on my list. Perhaps Minty could usurp Bluebelle.
The ponies I remember most vividly from my childhood are Blossom, Butterscotch and Minty. I absolutely love them all.
My 5-year old daughter would choose Peachy as her favouite (she's currently her favourite pony) and probably CP Bow Tie as well. She does love Bluebelle though and keeps trying to pinch mine but I am resisting (I already had to swap Peach for my daughter's Music Time, have to draw the line somewhere)
ETA: I just bought Lemon Drop!!!

It says you can vote once a day! So keep coming back and vote for pony every day. Maybe the committee will take notice. ;P
I bet you can also vote from different IP addresses/different computers as there's no authentication step to the vote process. Ponies to win!!! (but I did get a shock from the photo - that's not going to help as it's not the iconic MLP everyone recognises)

Was she released in the UK?
I really want her but can't find her over here.

Does anyone know if there is a Hasbro or fakie Princess Luna figure with the right colours? My daughter loves her character in the show and really wants a toy of her (pref brushable but any will do), but when she sees the pale lilac toys she says "that's completely wrong!! That's not what she looks like!"
The best I've seen is the Funko but I don't know how good it is for play or if it's just for display.

This is ridiculously fun. My kids are going to go wild for this tomorrow.
It's a shame the downloader doesn't work properly.

I'm going to start making episode discussion threads on saturdays
Yay! I've missed the episode discussion threads. Even though I'm not always up to date on the newest episode I enjoyed reading others thoughts and contributing my own after I've seen it.
Ponyfan
Same here. I'm actually only on Season 1 and I don't think the subforum here started discussion until Season 3 but I'm still looking forward to reading the threads when I finally get there. At the moment I go to other forums to read comments on S1 episodes as I watch them. I love reading fan comments episode by episode.
