I replied to your pm. My internet has been in and out because of the heat so I have not been able to check in as I would like.

Customs wants over $100 in fees for the pony. Is there anything that can be done since it is a returned good? Neither me not the seller should be out any additional money since we are making nothing from this transaction. I am really stressed over this whole situation. Thankfully LadyPinWheel has been exceptionally kind throughout the ordeal.

I think you should share the name of the seller publicly, especially since they have done this before. It would not be good for another member to be fooled by them! I am surprised eBay hasn't taken down their auctions!

Exactly! Glad you got your money back!

I ordered one thing from them online (pony related of course) and the picture and description were exactly what I wanted. Did I receive it? Nope. Thankfully my town still had a store so I could get a refund. I am not shocked others have had issues.

Did PayPal charge your credit card?

Selling ponies would be very stressful for the very reason I am not versed as to what is factory and what is owner damage. I only do trades and try my best to list any and all flaws I would notice.

I guess I would have been disappointed as well to receive a pony with a lot of missing plugs since the description made it seems like there were not any other noticeable flaws.  As a seller and collector I would know to list these faults but some sellers don't. You have a right to be disappointed but as everyone else has said factory flaws are common and unavoidable and the seller did not mislead you since the hair was not cut - he/she just didn't mention the plugs whether intentionally or not. This is not considered to be damage either.  I am not a super picky collector and have a threshold for certain undisclosed flaws. Just a lesson learned to ask questions since condition is very important to you and there is nothing wrong with that.

They will reimburse you for shipping up to $30 but want you to use DHL or UPS and not USPS. I found out about this when I called them over a claim.

I feel like a big idiot because it is probably my fault that it is stuck in customs. This transaction has gone from bad to worse because PayPal won't let me have an extension on the case I filed despite the item being stuck in customs. I called them to try and explain and now the case is escalated at their insistence. The seller wanted to handle this outside of PayPal but I had filed a case thinking it was still the 45 day window to do so and advised not to close the case until my money was refunded. The case was going to be closed soon and my only option was to have it escalated as PayPal won't reopen a case. I did not want this to happen as the seller has been so nice. I  concerned that I am going to receive a bad reputation from this and that it will cause issues for her PayPal account. This whole situation has me stressed out!!!!

Since this is her item, being returned and not a purchase by her she shouldn't be paying fees. (or if she does need to pay them to get access to her pony, Spain customs should have a process at which to have those fees returned to her with proof of this being a returned item she had sold. it is her responsibility to find out how and follow the process on her end to get that money back from customs). Did you write the nature of the transaction on the customs slip? "item returned to seller" or something similar?

No I didn't. I marked it as a gift since I was not selling it or anything. I was not really sure how to handle this return since I have never done one. I realized after I looked at the customs form I should have marked returned goods. I do not recall what the seller had marked in the box when she sent it to me originally. I hope I have not made a mistake in how I marked it.

I do not know what the hold up is then if there are no fees attached. I let the seller know it was being held in customs and have heard nothing. Wonder if customs has contacted her?

Is it a pony you are returning because you are unhappy with it?

Yes. There was a major flaw not listed in the description nor shown in the pictures (a noticeable crack/tear under the eye). The seller originally offered me a partial refund but the flaw was something that I would have not considered purchasing the pony to begin with. Ironically a few weeks ago a member from f/b was doing a price check on the same pony but in mint condition and people were quoting a fraction of what I paid for a pretty flawed pony. This post came after I contacted the seller and we agreed on me being refunded. I even offered to pay half the shipping costs since I appreciated her being understanding.

The package arrived in customs the morning of the 22nd. I am assuming the receiver will be contacted if there are any fees. What happens if the receiver refuses to pay the fees though (hopefully won't be the case)? I looked at my form and I forgot to check off what I wanted done should the package be undeliverable. I have never had issues with customs and nor have I had to return a pony before. I do not want the pny to get lost and lose the refund. I did the transaction on here and spent over 400 Euros on it plus $44 on return shipping.

Thanks for the help in answering my questions.

What value did you mark on the Customs form?

$500. It is a Lemon Drop piggy.

What does held in customs mean? I am sending a pony back to Spain and am waiting on it to arrive to the seller to receive a refund. I have never had anything held in customs before.

I would be leaving a negative. No excuse for bad packaging and definitely none for horrible customer service. Being a power seller should imply they know how to treat their customers. In your case they dropped the ball big time and other sellers will want to know. I would be asking for a partial refund to cover the cost of oil and cleaning that you would not have to be replacing if they had packaged the item properly.
