Wow!  Yours is even more like Hasbro then.  Fantastic rehair job!  I love that!

Do you remember the brand of the pony?

Does anyone know where this pony comes from?  I've not seen her before and found her at a Goodwill out of package.  I actually thought she was Fluttershy when I first saw her, but no.  Just a REALLY good fakey.

I have this unicorn, MoC, but the plastic bubble has completely separated from the card.  I would like to keep the unicorn as mint if at all possible.  Is there a recommended way of reattaching the plastic to the card, or should I just take it out at this point?

I started customizing first (swore I'd never collect- ha!) then started collecting g4, then g1s (got my first pony in 1981 when I was 4 :) ). They make me smile too. What I love is when people come over and see them and at first they say "wow, that's a lot of ponies" then they smile :D

I love that, too!  Whenever I introduce people to my house, I always wait with anticipation for the moment when they find my collection.

To put it very simply, I think they're just something I came to want because I've been going through some very rough times. They instill some sense of happiness I can't find anywhere else, and I need all of the happiness I can find.

I feel this way about the current show, especially.  Whenever I'm down, I can count on FiM to restore my faith in ponies.  I've even carried a pony in my pocket or luggage when I'm going somewhere stressful.  Just knowing that one little piece of my collection is with me gives me something happy to think about.

Oooh!  Round n Round.  And another fantastic Waterfire photo.  Those oranges really do blaze.  I'm curious about the Glow n Show ponies.  I don't think I have any of those in my collection.

'Tis always a tough choice between Italian and Ranch, with French as a common contender.  Catalina was my childhood favourite and a great substitute when French isn't available.

I had an atypical childhood that destined I would be one of the few children in the 80's who were not allowed to own ponies.  A cousin had them, though, and was justifiably surprised to discover that I didn't even know what they were.  She brought out her moderate (seemed HUGE at the time) collection, and my love of MLPs was born.  Years later, I had all but forgotten about them, though I never stopped loving horses in general.  In college, the G3s were just fading out, giving way to G3.5.  There were still a few G3s to be found, however, and, when I saw them, they stirred that childhood memory in my cousin's basement.  Not until after I graduated, did a dear friend buy my first three ponies for me.  I was quite delighted.  FINALLY, I had my own ponies!  However, finances dictated that I live with my parents for a few more years, so the ponies lived in a storage bin, safely out of sight.  (What they don't know, won't hurt me.)  Eventually, I was financially stable and able to pay my own rent and shut the door of my bedroom for certain visitors.  At that time, I discovered a second (third?  fifteenth?) hand toy store that had two of the saddest looking ponies I had ever seen: Dancing Butterflies and Moondancer.  I felt bad for them, so I bought Moondancer.  Very shortly after that, I discovered this place and learned how to clean up and reveal the hidden beauty in Moondancer.  Now I was curious and excited.  Returning to that store, I found a few of the 25th Anniversary Inspiration ponies, including Sweetie Belle.  Sweetie Belle was and is the prettiest pony I have ever seen.  Something about her made collecting ponies suddenly make sense and it's been a love affair ever since!

Yes, Surprise hair is brilliant, literally, under black light.

I wondered about the regrind.  A few of my ponies manifested unexpected bright spots in places that didn't seem logical.  My Waterfire actually is one of them, with a few touches of luminescent blue in her otherwise dark body.  Also, I have a white pony (forgot which one) with a luminescent body, but a dark head, which makes me think that this difference in the plastics is tied to why they sometimes colour differently in the sun.  She looks evenly white right now, under regular light, though.

Mine was technically a G4. I was introducted to Moondancer and Seashell when I was a kid, but they were my aunts! I broke down into buying ponies when the blindbags came out as I had to have the glitter Rainbow Dash. Then G4 lyra brushable was released and I just loved her colors so I bought! Next was Sunny Rays, Cherry Berry, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, more blindbags, then from there it got out of control! Now im wanting G1 ponies!

Welcome to the herd.  I believe this is the summary of all our lives.

Who's Firewater?  I know of a Waterfire, but no "Firewater"....
http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/Waterfire

I suppose I should've put "(sic)" after that name.  I've sort of renamed her in my head and sometimes it escapes into my writing/speech/etc.  I meant Waterfire.

BTW, if anyone has a Black Project Pony, check that out with a black light.  She looks practically demonic!  Unfortunately, mine is still in package, which meant the hair is not well positioned for photography, so I have no photo.  Even Princess Luna lights up...well...her cutie mark does.  Princess Tiffany, although a pristine white in regular light, actually turned purple under black light.  Glow-in-the-dark ponies become radiant, literally luminescent.  Rainbow Dash!  Someone needs to photograph Rainbow Dash.  I didn't think of her until after I'd already put away the camera.  I need to bring the light into my office and just scan my entire shelf, but the lamp is not easily movable, so IDK if that will actually happen or not.

I got three at once:  Bunches-o-fun, Dibble Dabble, and Coconut Cream.  Even though I was an adult when I finally got them, I had to open the boxes and play with their hair.  I braided a lock of hair on Bunches-o-Fun and she sat in storage for several years like that, but now all three are out on display on the top shelf with their original hair styles, except I let out the braid on Bunches-o-Fun.  It's got a nice subtle crimp to it now.  I kinda like it.

There are many treasures to be found on a pony shelf if one has a black light, but my collection is relatively small.  All the same, here are a few that I found:

Thank you all so much!  I'm really glad you like it!

Your g1 art could be official. *_*

Wow! That means a lot.  I'm fairly unfamiliar with G1 art, so I had to study the various images on line a while before I even had the confidence to try.

Again, guys, I'm really glad you like it.  My fanart is always for the fans!

A gift for a dear friend. The idea is that Dancing Butterflies is passing on the legacy of butterflies to Fluttershy. The butterflies they're flying through are based off of the two ponies' cutie marks.
