I am so entirely jealous of your collection! I especially love seeing all the cow girl barbies back to back. They look so lovely together on their horses!

The Dollhouse / Re: What kind of doll collector are you?
« on: January 23, 2017, 10:21:49 PM »
I'm a very sporatic doll collector. I have about 80 Monster Highs (I got swept up in that craze) and a few Disney dolls. But until recently, I haven't really gone out of my way to get dolls. As a kid, I was way more interested in toy animals than mini people. Although, I did have a few - My favorite is a Baby So Beautiful I got for my third birthday. Her name is Michiko and she's like my little sister, haha. I also had a Jenny doll and a generic little boy doll that went with Jenny, but that was pretty much it.

Right now, I'm lowkey into porcelain/toddler dolls. I recently went to an antique store and found a toddler boy named Lantau from a company called Dolls by Pauline, and that was love as first sight. He was the most I've ever spent on a doll! So I feel like I've crossed a threshold...

I'd love to see pics of him!

I'm not sure what search words I should use on ebay to find the Simba babies. I really like them actually. Do they come in different races? I have a lot of black barbies and Asian barbies. I don't mind ordering from china but I just can't seem to find them on ebay.

Does anyone have any idea of a cheaper easier to find baby to use with barbie? Krissy and barbie infants are so rare and hard to come by. I don't want to spend a whole bunch of money on babies. I'd rather get them cheaper. Any ideas? Thanks.

Baby Primrose- you might try emailing Retrodolls to see if she can help you find a match?

Not sure about the hair color. But I really liked the promo photos of her but then I saw her in the store and the bangs changed my mind too. I also wish she was wearing tights under her dress. I hate naked leg barbies.  :lookround:

I hope someone figures it out for you though! I'd love to see her rehaired!

One of the things that drives me absolutely insane about Barbie is that the promo photos almost always look very little like the actual product.

Yeah I've noticed that too. Sometimes they look better though. I just like that they use a variety of different body types and face molds now. Though I did notice there aren't a lot of Caucasian brunettes.

Wish I could help but it's really hard to identify 90's nude barbies because a lot of the face molds/paintings were the same at that time period. Your best bet would be to skim through a barbie ID website. There's a few out there that have pictures of all the barbies out by year. I've had to search through them before and it's a pain in the rear. Best of luck!

I love barbie. You have some nice looking girls!

I am addicted to barbie fashionistas.

Just a heads up, target has a ton of them on sale for under 7 bucks. I just ordered like 6 of them lol.

Toy Box & Games Cupboard / Re: Care Bears!
« on: January 16, 2017, 06:31:39 PM »
I LOVED care bears when I was a preteen. I was obsessed. My mom used to buy me the two pack plushies. The little ones that liked hugged each other and were sewn together. I would cut the thread that held them together. My older sister still has my whole collection at her house. Since me and my BF are trying for a baby she said that when we finally get pregnant, I can have the care bears for the nursery. I'm really excited. I had quite the collection.

I also own both of the movies and still know all the words lol. I was OBSESSED. I wore care bear clothes, had a grumpy bear sweat band. Bedtime Bear was my favorite though. I miss the care bears.

I had care bear bed stuff too but my comforter got ruined when lava lamp fell on my head. I would rebuy that blanket in a heartbeat lol. My preteen years were probably the best years of my life. So I associate care bears with it lol

I think that's it right there. That's just a link I got off of google from searching "Horse Bucket Toy" lol I was bored and searched through the images until I found something that might have been it. Hopefully that helps.  :)

ETA: I searched "Saddle Up Horse Ranch" on ebay and there are some on there for around 20 bucks, if you're looking to buy. It's really cute. I had something similar as a child but it wasn't with horses.

Well shoot! that was quick! xD I must have tried about a dozen different search entries haha! But yep that is indeed what I was looking for, thank you so much!

You're welcome! I love hunting down old toys/shows/movies from my childhood so I kind of have a way with google lol

I don't know anything about her, but just wanted to mention that she is super cute!  ^.^

Hope you find out some information. I wonder if there was a line of them. If so.. I'm gonna need them all! lol

ETA:

I searched them on both google images and ebay and found that they did indeed make a bunch of different ones. Not just cats too! I saw an adorable Pig one on ebay. I searched "victoria ashlea cat doll" and "victoria ashlea original cat dolls" and that's how I got some to turn up. Many are they freaking adorable.

Pony Corral / Re: Where are the pearlized brushables?
« on: January 14, 2017, 06:52:48 PM »
yeesh, ive been all over creation and still have yet to find almost any pearlized brushables! :'-0

i couldnt find them in ohio (except for nurse redheart alone by herself at walgreens), or near my grandma in illinois. ive checked walmart, target, shopko, toys r us...nothing! all ive been finding are the posable ones and the explore equestria singles.

im going to check at walgreens and super target tomorrow, but if i dont find them there, i think i'll have to resort to buying online.

I've only seen pearlies once at walmart here in Michigan. I haven't even seen the new pose ponies. It's like no one is stocking ponies anymore. Kmart was practically out accept for some pinkie pies. Meijer cleared their shelves of ponies and now just have a box display that isn't even in the toy aisle and they are all the flutter shies and pinkie pies and rarities with bows. Nothing but the main six unfortunately. I haven't checked Ollies or Big Lots but I expect them to be similar.

I'm in an impulsive doll buyer. I don't need to be and end up selling most of my buys. I'm really thinking an selling all the dolls I own and starting over. So I can be selective with what comes into my collection. But there are several dolls that I couldn't part with.

I really just need to start putting that money that I am thinking about spending into a dolly fund. So when I want a more expensive doll I can buy it.

I have to tell myself over and over when I see a line I don't have that I think is cute "I don't need it.. I don't collect it" but in the back of my mind I'm thinking "Ooooo pretty! need! need! need!" it's bad. So bad. But right now I'm doing good at sticking to my main collections. I need to put some stuff away that is taking up room but I can't find myself to part with.  >_<
