Nice to see ponies get a new life! (:
Thank you . To babystarz: That's what I thought, thanks. Otherwise it would be a disaster waiting to happen lol.

She looks awesome!! Such a happy pony!
A suggestion on donig the symbol: less paint is always better! Habro has such smooth paint, it's a good idea to do severeal thin layers for touch ups as opposed to trying to get it all at once.
Thank you . Yes I think you're right, thanks for the suggestion. It's true, Hasbro does have a smooth paint, it almost looks like the pony was born with it. I was wodering, is it possible to maybe draw what you want and then paint on top of it, instead of free hand painting?

Another restoration I've done is Magic Star, like my Gypsy, she also had a mane and tail severe cut. She also has a rub on one of her symbols, which I haven't restored yet (gathering courage to do that lol). Here's how used to look like, the photo isn't that good because the the light, sorry about that: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginAnd here she is now: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginThis time I think the tail has the right amount of hair. I also tried to use less hair on the plugs and it looks better than Gypsy's mane . For some reason the tales tend to get a little longer than the original pony would have, I think.

Thank you soooooooooo much for all the comments. It really means a lot . Next step is to restore Magic Star and Baby Cotton Candy. Magic Star had the same problem as Gipsy, Baby Cotton Candy had faded tail and mane a hair cut, not only that, she was rusty on the inside, really horrible. I'll post them as soon as they're ready.

I've finally restored my Gipsy . My first restored pony . The poor thing had a severe hair and tail cut. Here's how she used to look like: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginAnd this is how she is now (sorry for tha grainy photo): visitors can't see pics , please register or loginTwo things I've learnt from it: use less hair on plugs and a little more on the tail lol. I think the mane was a little thick and the tale could use a little more hair. Either way I'm very happy with the result .

Hello everyone! I'm in serious need of help, I've decided to restore my Baby Cotton Candy and to my "surprise" she was in terrible shape inside. I did notice some rust around the tale and part of the mane (which had been cut off) but when I opened it... Oh My God! It was digusting! She was rusty inside, the tale ring was gone and the body itself was black. I don't have pics, they were going to be too awful to watch, believe me. I've be using a toothbrush and toothpaste and I've managed to remove some of it. I was wondering if using a little bleach or acetone would be ok, or if it will damage the pony's body. I really need to clean that pony!!! If anyone has any advice I'd really appreciate it. Thank youuuuuuuuu! Clara Post Merge: April 17, 2012, 04:37:16 AMHello everyone!

Hard to choose lol they all look good... but I voted Envy, because of the contrast and it combines well with the wings. I hope it helps.

Hello everyone! I little update on this post. My Ponies already have new tales!!! , they're my first! Still no mane because I'm looking around some stores for a proper needle (I might end up doing my tool though lol). Here's a pic of how they look, the tale isn't styled yet. They look a little creepy without their heads lol. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginI've saved the metal ring they had inside, they were in good condition, but instead of the metal clip that holds the hair together, I used this plastic thing (I have no idea what's it called) and it worked pretty good. Here's a pic. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginI'll be posting new images of how they're coming along. I just need to have time to finish them lol. Thanks for reading
