Customs / Re: How do you sculpt feathering on a custom?
« on: May 15, 2014, 09:01:54 PM »
what if you make a very small thin cylinder of rolled out clay and cut it onto tiny pieces? You could taper one end to be the bottom of the "feather" and blend the top part to the pony. I'd imagine you could layer them to get however much feathering you want.

Is there any way for ebay feedback, or feedback from people on Facebook I've sold ponies to to count here? I'd love to be able to do the swap, but the last few customs have been ordered through Facebook so I don't have the arena feedback. If not I more than understand, I'll just look for another person with little feedback and do a one on one swap with them.

Love the last one.  What do you call her?

Fleur de Lis, she is is a background pony in the current cartoons. I'm starting to do little customs from ponies she has doubles of for her to play with.

Any chance Pyramid head is for sale X3 I just love him.

Sorry, but no. He and the Nurse were a custom order from my Facebook page. If you are interested in me making one for you you are more than welcome to shoot me a message.

Thank you to everyone!!! While I was very happy with how they all turned out, PH and Nurse more so than the others, I wasn't expecting quite this much love for the monsters.

How did you get that sparkly pony?  I've never seen one like that!

I've seen one that someone made that was either a very dark blue or black. If I remember right they got a light colored sparkly pony and put the paint inside. They then just shook it up real good to cover all over. Can't say if this person did the same thing, but it gave a similar effect.

An the two I've done.

If you do stomp on it, please don't be a dork like me and forget that you are only wearing socks.

That's looking great hun! For his hair are you going to using saran or mohair?

Be careful with dismantling the girl. My daughter busted the leg off of her Twilight trying to make her do the splits. The leg is a hard plastic but the ball piece that it fits onto is a very soft plastic. It was a royal pain in the patootie to get back on and I nearly broke the leg doing so. If you are able, I would recommend painting as much as you can without removing the limbs.

Customs / Re: Seeking Custom Help - The Clay!?
« on: March 04, 2014, 07:31:38 PM »
Since you are wanting to avoid the oven, I would go for Apoxie-sculpt, or something similar. Most air dry clay will shrink and I have gotten nothing but heart ache when trying to use them. I have not tried apoxie yet, you only have a certain window of work time to use it in before it starts to harden so I've just stuck with my sculpey clay. Hopefully someone with more experience with the apoxie will be on soon. Best of luck with your custom hun.

Cellstorm and Rain Dance are what came to me. Hope you show him off after he is all done and finds the perfect name.

Customs / Clay clothing advise, please
« on: February 24, 2014, 12:42:10 PM »
Hello, you can probably gather from the title that I'm hoping to get some advice on making clay clothes on an MLP. I'm trying to go with with a flowy type skirt, but I need to put a lot of details for the texture and to make it look like it was stitched together.

Is it best to do the clay work with the pony already on a baking tray, or is there a way to move it safely without messing up the clay?

Is there a trick to getting the folds to fall or do you just let the clay pretty much do it's own thing for that?

I was rolling my clay out to about 1/8 of an inch, is that too thin?

Any other advise or tips/tricks would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

Tyr
