Pony Corral / Re: That moment when you find a RAPUNZEL...........
« on: March 01, 2015, 07:23:54 PM »
I don't see any reason why the seller should feel any obligation to keep any of the ponies. I also see no sensible reason for the presented subterfuge. Good communication is one of the most basic principles of good business, after all. The seller had every right to do research (though it's a bit flaky / annoying that it wasn't done -first-. But if the seller does not have a working knowledge of MLP value there are reasons that could account for that.) and to get a satisfactory price for the items in her possession. It's just very unfortunate that she got Wizzer's hopes up before having all the valid information needed to truly commit to the sale.

G4:

Applejack (CMM w/ Cadance)
Rarity (x2) (Water Cutie; Styling Strands)
Fluttershy (x2) (Styling Strands; CMM)
Rainbow Dash (CMM)
(Princess) Twilight Sparkle (CMM)
Pinkie Pie (x2) (CMM w/ Gold Lily; Water Cuties)
Honey Rays (Charm Wings)
Diamond Mint (Water Cuties)
Princess Gold Lily (CMM w/ Pinkie Pie)
(Princess) Cadance (CMM w/ Applejack)

Just started collecting last month and haven't branched out into other generation yet. I try to keep most characters to one version I really like, but I don't mind extras if they are really unique (like Water Cuties), with a character I want / need, or if they are variants of Rarity or Fluttershy.

She's all right but not one that I'm absolutely dying to own. I like white toys, but I agree that keeping them white can definitely be tough.

I think that doing things to improve the clarity of picture and sound are fine. But outside of that, leave it be. It is what it is and was what it was. Fiddling with the actual content tells me that the person doing it would have been better served creating their own spin off / reboot / whatever. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that--I got into MLP via FiM. But the point of someone revisiting an old show is to appreciate it for what it represented for the time period it was from. Anything outside of technical clean up would destroy the authenticity of the source material.

So many beautiful ponies! G2 is the gen I'm the most clueless about. But thanks to you, I now know that I want Muse, Miss Painter and Ivy. I'm also curious who the pink pony with the Santa hat is. Also, Skipetey Doo and Cutesaurus. So cute!

GryffindorHerminone , I do that too with Easter, Christmas and Valentines Day. (My friend and I call Feb. 15th 50% off chocolate day.) I don't drive, though, so sometimes that doesn't line up. I want to surprise my family this year, so I'm going around and trying to figure out what everyone's favorite things are and putting them into little mini baskets I found at a second hand shop. I love any excuse to go a little crazy for holidays and this should be fun. :)

Haven't had this with ponies, but I use to run into it a lot back when I played and traded CCGs in my teens. I definitely get where you're coming from. On one hand, the ponies are hers and good for her trying to find out what they're worth. On the other hand, places like eBay or Amazon can really inflate the prices on things and can present false ideas of what items are worth / what people will pay for them.

Also: Bah! I had no clue that Crumpet was in any way rare. >.< I've been trying to avoid wanting anything that is going to be hard to get, but she's my most wanted G1. Go figure. *laughs* Oh, well. I guess that will make eventually getting her all the more exciting. :)

(Edited to add): And Munchy is my other top choice. Hey, at least now I know? ;) And I'm incredibly sorry that happened to you, LightningElectricDream . Sounds like someone lacked both tact and honor. How rude! :(

I wish you the best of luck. Hopefully an agreement can be made where the seller is getting a reasonable price and you are getting some new ponies.

Pony Corral / Re: G4 Princesses on ebay - please tell me they're real!
« on: February 27, 2015, 12:43:37 PM »
Yep, they're real. :) I just bought the set with Gold Lily and Pinkie Pie last weekend. Congrats on your new ponies. Gold Lily's hair is such a gorgeous blend of shades. :)

Off Topic / Re: Who is your favorite (common) Batman villain?
« on: February 26, 2015, 10:42:28 PM »
Poison Ivy, hands down. The Joker and Harley Quinn come in a close second. But then there's also The Riddler and Catwoman. Batman just has so many interesting and complex villains. I feel bad leaving any of them out!

Off Topic / Favorite Easter Goodies?
« on: February 26, 2015, 10:35:40 PM »
Hey guys! Easter is in just over a month, so I thought it might be fun to discuss our favorite Easter treats, what we'd want (or what we're putting) in our baskets this year and what we loved as kids. How much has the treats aspect of this holiday really changed over the years?

As a kid I always loved the Cadbury Cream Eggs, Jelly Belly Jellybeans and the big solid chocolate bunnies. (Even if the latter were a huge mess and storing them was a pain.) Our family did egg hunts, rather than decorated baskets. But I am thinking of doing a basket for my own enjoyment this year--at 33 I'm a bit old to be crawling behind couches and under chairs looking for junk food. :D

Mostly curious how others celebrate / have celebrated and in whether any amazing treats have released that I should keep an eye out for. Have a great day! :)

Off Topic / Re: Gamers, what are you playing right now?
« on: February 26, 2015, 10:29:00 PM »
My boyfriend got me Final Fantasy: 4 Heroes of Light, a DS game that I missed back in 2010 for my birthday. It's made itself at home in my 3DS XL and hasn't moved since. So glad he went to the trouble of getting me this, as it's a very old school rpg, yet has a pretty awesome story. I can't stop playing! Been a whole since I've connected with a game this much, so I'm really happy.

I find it easiest to just get stuff like this via Amazon. But I hope those who are looking locally will find it, too, when it releases.

Pony Corral / Re: Equestria Girls toys coming to McDonalds
« on: February 25, 2015, 07:55:05 PM »
My brothers are both salary managers at McDonalds. I'll have them keep an eye open since I'll want these, and i'll see if either of them know anything about this / can tell us anything as the time gets closer. I'm not 100% sure how much / whether they know anything about the happy meal toys, but it can't hurt to check. :)

Pony Corral / Re: POTD 2/25/2015 Pepperberry
« on: February 25, 2015, 02:56:17 PM »
I like her colors, actually. She kind makes me think of an actual pepper. But I don't think she'll be joining my collection any time soon. There are already too many G3s I want and while I find her quirkiness amusing, I don't think she would have enough appeal to me for the amount of space she would take.
