...but when it's a ratty-looking G3 or G4 I just think 'who else is going to appreciate it, I must buy it and restore it!'. I realise my mania for 'rescuing' damaged toys probably says something about me psychologically .

When you find (or found) a support group for this behavior, give me a call so I can join. Just back from the thrift store with things I really don't "need"

Still collecting, mostly filling gaps rather than expanding into new sets. As always, the price has to be right, and that's only been happening with new-old stock at the discounters. Now the G3 collection... that's expanding a lot more.

Never gave up, and still not sick of them! I love G4!

 That's like an army of armies!

Pony Corral / Re: Remove yellowing on old MLP playsets ?

Have anyone tried the usual peroxide/UV light or any such methods ? If this topic is covered somewhere please drop a link - thanks a bunch  :lovey:

A friend of mine collects 70s-90s video game consoles and computers. Because of him, I know collectors in that area use this technique: https://www.howtogeek.com/196687/ask-htg-why-do-old-computers-and-game-consoles-turn-yellow/

I've no idea how applicable the materials and technique would be to aged plastics in the playsets and especially what you would need to do to preserve stickers. Looks nasty.

I'm not a big Christmas fan, but "That’s What I like about Christmas" could almost convert me...  and now it is stuck in my head.

G3s in general, and SLH Rainbow Flash in particular. We got a not-so-gently used Rainbow at a thrift store, and I spent hours getting her to look reasonable. She's missing her crown and accessories, but after working with her for such a long period of time, I've come to appreciate the G3s a lot more, and have had a lot more of them join the collection.

I picked up Starlight today, her gimmick is hilarious: https://gfycat.com/QueasyImmaculateBongo
Shouldn't they give that gimmick to applejack instead?  :P

Is that your keyboard in the background? Awesome.

Some of you may have seen this in the art section years ago, but I had made magenta Satin n Lace into her own persona, an evil twin named, well, Magenta.  She is trying to seduce Tux away from her goody four-shoes sister Satin.

Fantastic expressions!

Also: Two "army" choices on the POTD?

Those are G3 Super Long Hair barrettes :)  CONGRATS on your fun haul

Thank you for the information, as I led me to a description on "My Generation Toys." Looks like Pinkie and Rarity came with four each, plus other stuff, but no picture, so I don't know who gets what. And if they came with four each, and I've got ten, who'd Pinkie steal the other ones from? And where is she?!?

Congrats! They all look lovely! I can't believe Pinkie was holding that many barrettes XD

They've cleaned up well, but I've yet to style them. Pinkie's got a smudge by her symbol that refuses to go away, and Rarity has some discoloration on her chest, like she dribbled while eating. There was a real mess on the bottom of her jaw, so I sort of wonder if somebody tried to feed her.

As for the barrettes,  I'll dole some out to Rarity once I determine who came with what. Can't let Pinkie hog them all.

Every Monday is "customer appreciation" day at our store, which means 50% off, so I'm always sure to check. They were pony free last week, but the trip this week was worth it.

The smaller ponies were bagged with a few other toys that have subsequently re-donated. The whole lot was under $9 before tax. Everypony was in decent shape, although Applejack's ear has some nasty black mark on it.

Big Pinkie's hard to see above, but here's what her mane and tail contained:

They've no markings on them, so I'm not sure if they are MLP accessories and/or if it's part of her original set. More research needed.

My local Target seems to have gotten rid of the display, as I haven't seen them for a few visits.
Of the three I frequent, none of them seem to be keen on showing them off. They are always placed on the lowest shelf of an end cap, far too often hidden by other merchandise. It was also a long time between the first time I spotted them and the next, at least three weeks.

And the last time I was at a Target, I took the lone remaining 35th anniversary pony, Butterscotch coincidentally, and trotted her over to the shelf with the rest of the MLP products.

Too bad, I was betting on picking some on clearance!
If there's anything good I had to say about Target, it's "Oh, boy! those clearance sales!"

I thought of another one Steven Magnet the sea serpent.

You can thank the other part of the adult fandom for that. Same with DJ Pon-3 or D**** H*****

The original source for Steven Magnet is supposedly an auto generated caption on YouTube, so I guess an AI gets part of the blame. But yeah, not only weird but a bit of an innuendo. I'm sure Hasbro picked it up because it was easily registered, otherwise he'd be a dazzle something.

That is absolute cool (and I hope delicious)

I thought ponies (regardless of the gen) were only about tea parties.
Huh. Guess not. :)
