The Dollhouse / Re: Which Bratz Doll Is This?
« on: February 16, 2012, 10:32:35 AM »
I do not believe that is flashback Cloe. Flashback Cloe has crimped hair and it has dark and light blonde color and I am pretty sure it was not that long. Flashback cloe also has darker lip color.

That bratz is from a more up to date set. Just by looking at the hair it looks like maybe a 2011 doll not 100% sure though or which set she came from but I'm pretty positive she's not flashback cloe. I have Flashback Cloe and it doesn't look like her.

Here is a link I found to flashback cloe online, hopefully it will work

The Dollhouse / Re: Does anyone else think those pullip dolls..
« on: February 16, 2012, 10:26:11 AM »
I've never been into the Pullip or Blythe style dolls, so I don't own any and am not interested in them.

Other dolls I'm not interested in and don't care about owning: LIV dolls, American Girl dolls,  Monsters High, cabbage patch kids and there are probably quite a few others I can't think of but those are some popular ones that I really have no interest in.

The Dollhouse / Re: Tonner - Ellowyne, Tyler, Evangeline, etc...Question!
« on: February 06, 2012, 04:08:15 PM »
I got Miss Understood   I can't wait to get her!  I've got a few outfits for her already on my watchlist, lol.   I really want Dark Days to be my first whole doll though...LOVE her.

Her hair is an awesome shade of red, I'll probably change her outfit at some point when I find something I like better.

Two of the outfits I've purchased are Still Life and Ties that Bind.

Ties that bind is by far one of my favorite because the pictures don't do it justice, it's actually kind of silky/shiny in person than what you can tell in the photos.

Ellowyne Dolls and outfits I'd like to have IF I had unlimited funding:

1. Red to lift her mood (2006 FAO exclusive)
2. Alone Again (Summer 2007)
3. Woe and Whipped Cream (summer 2008)
4. Pale Memories (spring 2008)
5. Ellowyne in Whine (Fall 2009)
6. Ennui in Oz (2009 Dollz in Oz Exclusive)
7. Moody Blue (Spring 2009)
8. A crying Shame (spring 2010)
9. A day of Ennui (2010 even exclusive)
10. My tell tale heart (fall 2010)
11. Letting off steam (2010 tonner con exlusive)
12. Tea Ennui and Me Amber and Ellowyne (2011 exclusive)
13. Blithe Spirit (2011 UFDC exclusive)
14. Tears of Endearment (2011 spring)
15. Bittersweat (2010 spring)
16. A Fluttering Heart (2012)

not sold out

17. Renaissance Romantic
18. Woefully Bewitched
19. Lanquid
20. Stolen Moments

So that's my list of fav's that I'd like to own.

Thanks for the info, I'll definitely sign up for emails from them, that's a good suggestion.  I did end up getting a nude Ellowyne from a seller on eBay, she was only $45, and I didn't particularly like the outfit she came with originally anyway, lol.  But, I'm a sucker for a red-haired doll, so I had to have her.  Now I'm browsing for handmade clothes for her, which will make due for now.  I have already picked out the first full doll I'll be getting though, so that's exciting.  Can't wait to get her...I've never had a 16" doll to photograph before :)

Ouuu, Which one did you get? I love redheads to. I have two in my collection at the moment. One is Miss Understood and the other is I Wait Alone. Both I got direct from the website so they are in they're original outfits.

I've bought a few outfits handmade for my Tonners and Ellowyne from ebay. There are some really great ones out there. I've got a couple of mine from places like Thailand and China.

You would almost be better to buy Ellowyne directly from her website.

Ebay is great to but sometimes if you consider the price of the doll plus the outfit that come together, in the long run you can get a better deal buying direct than using ebay.

Plus if you sign up with the Ellowyne website they will send you emails and give you special codes where you can get free shipping and sometimes they give discounts like 15% off if you spend X amount with them.

Also if you keep an eye on the website and particuarly the 'end of edition specials' section, you can get stuff on sale - plus you can use the free shipping and discount codes with them. One of the outfits I dearly wanted was originally $79.00. Then right before Christmas it was discounted to $59.00, I used the 15% discount and since I was buying gifts as well I got free shipping. So I got the outfit cheaper plus free shipping and 15% off everything I bought.

Ebay is great for finding stuff you can't buy anymore because on a lot of the Tonner/Ellowyne it sells out quickly but if you want to buy direct you can get better deals sometimes than what you would pay on ebay. Though I wouldn't discourage buying a nude to start out with but do consider that most of those nude dolls you end up buying came with an outfit. So be careful because you can sometimes be buying something you could buy direct for, you get the outfit and the doll together and it can be a much better deal depending on what the final bid is.

You can also use the website as a price reference since in the gone but not forgotten section of the Ellowyne site you can see what the original price was for the dolls/outfits. That can help you figure out if the ebay price is too high. I have seen stuff on ebay that go for more than what the site is selling the dolls for and it's actually still available from them direct. So just be careful of ebay because if you don't know if it's still available you can end up paying more.

The Tonner website also sends emails so I suggest signing up with them because just like Ellowynes site they also send out discount coupons from time to time and you can keep an eye on what the actual retail price,

Pony Corral / Re: Who are the "Oldie Moldies"?
« on: February 06, 2012, 10:41:03 AM »
My first ponies were Moondancer and Firefly. My mom bought them for me new and she allowed me to have two because I couldn't really decide which 'one' I wanted so she told me to pick two; at least that's the way I remember it. I have a feeling I was probably just standing there staring at the beautiful unicorns and pegasus and I'm positive my thought was I must have them all.

I'm making the assumption that I started collecting in 1983 but I guess it depends on when Moondancer and Firefly were officially first in stores.

I don't remember being interested in the original ponies (blue Belle, Butterscotch, etc.) or taking notice of them and I'm assuming again that they were released in 1982 - the Uni's and Pegs is what got me started. But all of this would be based on what was actually out when. I just know when I first saw the Uni and Peg that was when I got them so they must have just been released.

I've been a faithful collector since Moondancer and Firefly, so that puts me at 29 years.

edit: I think I've been in the online pony collecting community since 1996/7.

Pony Corral / Re: Princess Cadence Toy!
« on: February 06, 2012, 08:25:53 AM »
So, Celestia is white and they make her toy light pink. The pictures I've seen of Princess Cadence are light pink and they make her toy bright super sonic pink. What's the delio Hasbro? I mean I like pink as much as the next pony collector but seriously, why such a defunk in the translation to toy from design?

And the toy itself looks like the light pink talking Celestia toy but without the blue fabric wings. I think they still have these at my local walmart.

I didn't buy the pink talking celestia, I'm just not into ponies with buttons on them that make them talk and I don't like that she's not white like she's supposed to be.

If you're going to make Cadence toy dark pink then she should be the same color in the artwork, etc. Is there some kinda massive disconnect between the artwork artists and graphics designers and the people that pour the plastic colors over at the china factory?

Pony Corral / Re: Suicide or murder?

It's not murder or Suicide, it's an accident.

While you were gone, Snowie got bored.

She happened to hear one of your co-workers talking about how cool bungie jumping was. She thought to herself, wow, that sounds totally hooftastic.

But unfortunately she didn't quite know the proper way to bungie.

But no worries, she's plastic so she's not dead, all except for the death of her pride because all your coworkers made fun of her not knowing how to bungie properly.

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think Ellowyne is really sold anywhere except directly from the people who make her.

Karen, I have to admit I geeked out a little at the Snape doll. Ok, more'n just a little XD Who is the pretty lady next to him? She looks like Lady Galadriel if I had to take a wild shot in the dark, but I'm not sure ^^; she's really nice though :3

The female is Deeanna Denton, also made by the Tonner Doll Company. Tonner also does the Lord of the Ring Dolls but I believe Galadriel is in the 16" size slim body like Tyler Wentworth. Deeanna is in the 17" size but the body is more...shall I say curvy. The outfit she has on is actually from the Narnia dolls that Tonner did, it was Susan's dress.

I actually have some pictures of Snape with the Tyler size doll, before I got a doll in the 17" size. The smaller 16" slimmer size doll just doesn't quite look to be the right size for him. You can kind of take pictures and make them work together but the 17" more womanly figured size dolls seem to fit much better when taking Pics with the Snape doll.

Here are some more images of Snape:

It's a $1 fakie.

I remember seeing them at the dollar tree. In fact I think I have a couple of the other colors.
