Yeah, that happened with me when I was working over a newspaper... like a moron...  If it's the surface you're working on, you can change where you work or put down a white sheet or something. If it's your hands for whatever reason, you could wear gloves. Only things I know. Sorry.

When I get a job, I'm going to try and save up for Rapunzel, the most expensive pony there is (about $600 right now). Mind you, she's nowhere near as expensive as an original 1997 Princess Diana Beanie Baby (highest on eBay is $2 million, followed by $999,999). Recently though, I spent $60 on G2 Silver Glow. But with her wings and very few imperfections, it was well worth it.

Only mistake I can think of was letting Mom put a red "J" on the bottom of Sky Skimmer's hoof. It was only because my friend and I had the same pony and she wanted us to be able to tell them apart. Of course, I was like four or five when that happened so the idea of anyone, especially myself, collecting these things in the future never crossed my mind.

Thanks, Maniah. That was very reassuring. After studying Posey and some of my other customs, I was beginning to think that I would never be successful at selling simply because I suck at making customs... I always thought the custom business was better than that... Also, fans of G4 seem to like Lauren Faust's original characters as well. Or at least Surprise. I've seen Equestria Daily advertise a Surprise custom before, and they recently discussed an "Ask Surprise" blog. Still, Posey looks too much like Fluttershy, but she's just an earth pony, which most Bronies seem to find inferior. For commissions I don't care if I like the design or not, but for personal projects I make things I LIKE. I agree, but for some reason, I didn't like Posey as much as I thought when I finished with her. Kinda wish I had gone for Bow Tie instead. Oh well, that's a project for another day.
