The Dollhouse / Re: Bratz Masquerade Brogan!
« on: March 31, 2012, 12:52:04 PM »
I don't usually like male dolls, but he's cute in a Jack Sparrow sort of manner. I like his boots. Gratz on getting him.

Yea! I was thinking Sparrow to!

I used to not care that much about male dolls, but I think mostly back in the day all there was was a Ken doll and there wasn't much options for variety. So male dolls seemed very limited, there wasn't really much to choose from, etc.

I like that MGA did give the Bratz boys some props and made them kinda special instead of just treating them like an accessory without much attention. A lot of the older bratz boys have just as much detailed paid to them as the girls do in some sets.

There are some Tonner male dolls I wish I had bought - like the Brother Dreary and I've seen some male BJD's that I'd love to own if I had the extra funds.

The Dollhouse / Bratz Masquerade Brogan!

I'm happy because today, arriving in the mail was Bratz Masquerade Brogan.

I never saw him in stores and other Bratz collectors have told me that he was not sold in the USA. I have no idea if he was or not I just know I thought he was the most awesome of the boy dolls in the set. I'm so glad I managed to find  him on ebay!

So many ponies on ONE WALL.. :dribble:

There are others on the other side of the room...and there is a whole cabinet of custom bates out in the garage. Actually I couldn't get the whole wall in the shot :p
That's pretty impressive, I must say. I love the idea of having so many on just one wall! They look so awesome. :)
I don't think I can free up an entire wall for my ponies, though. Not to mention it would make some end up within kitty reach so she'd probably chew on them. XD

The shelving isn't hard to put up and you can cut the boards as long or short as you want. So say you had a corner between maybe a closet door and a dresser or something like that you could do short shelves as well Or you can also do a shelf at the top of the room that runs above a window, etc. The channel rod and little hook hangers give you the option of being creative. You can also cut the metal channel rods shorter because we had to do that in the garage to go above floor cabinets.

You can also make your shelves further apart as well. So say you had a doll collection, you could do 15" between some shelves and then others you could do 6" between. Giving you the option of displaying different things on the same wall, etc.

You're welcome to count, even though this picture is old and more ponies have been added since this has been taken and also I can't get the whole wall-o-pony in the shot...

Mine are wood boards hung by using the metal channel rods.

You can buy everything at lowes or Home Depo. You can buy the boards and then you use a jig saw to round the edge. You can either buy the fancy white boards they have in the closet organization section or you can buy wooden boards and stain them.

I've done both options. My ponies have wood stained boards since we have wood paneling in the house. My craft garage has the fancy white boards since the walls are painted - I have my doll collection displayed there.

You can buy the rods in the same section they have the closet organization things in. You'll need screws to put them up and someone who knows how to hang them on the wall. Then you buy the little hooks that you stick in the channel rod, depending on how many shelves you want and how long your shelf is will depend on how many hooks you need. They both have the white and think dark metal hooks. You can basicly decide what you like better to fit your decor.

Pony Corral / Re: Tired of ugly FiM ponies? Especially boys?

There was stuff I didn't like in the G1 cartoon but I think the difference is none of us had access to make public posts about what we found annoying.

So I don't know if we're all blessed to have the ability to post and communicate anything about the cartoon or if it's a curse that can bite you because every little opinion you have can get picked apart and over examined from every angle possible.

I thought the white muscle pony was cheesy and drawn badly on purpose to make us giggle. He was exceptionally random and for me he's just an bit of comedy which doesn't bother me very much because I'm not 100% tied into being obsessed with the cartoon.

It doesn't change My Little Pony for me. There was some cheesy stuff in G1. Maybe not in how they do it in G4 but since I was into ponies before I ever saw the G1 cartoon it really didn't matter what they put in the cartoon.

The cartoons have always been like an accessory for me because I was a collector first. Consider it an outfit for your ponies. You can either dress your ponies in the characters created by the animation and Hasbro team or you can use your own imagination and create your own idea of what your ponies and ponyland are like.

Off Topic / Re: Let's Talk Game of Thrones
« on: March 24, 2012, 11:21:33 AM »
I've read the books. And I've watched the whole HBO series.

Love it and am excited for season two.

I have so many Favorite characters it's hard to pick one. One of my favorite minor characters is Sandor (The Hound).

When I read the first book I started off not liking Sansa but as the book went on I found myself liking her more and going into the other books etc she became one of the characters I'm pulling for most. I like Arya but I actually slowly have kind of found her story in the series to be going a bit weird and don't particularly like the direction. I guess I'll see what Martin does with her.

with reading the books (and sort of in the tv show) you can find yourself finding sympathy for characters you originally might hate. I think the great thing about it is every character is flawed. There are characters to love but they also do stupid/bad or questionable things and that's what seems to make it a really good story.

I just started using twitter again in the last few weeks. I'd had the account for a while but never got much use out of it, but when I got a new phone it made it a lot more useful to me.

I'd love to have some ponyfriends to add to my list! I'm the same person just about everywhere @karentheunicorn
