Hi everyone!
Err- not sure if this should go here, very sorry if not!
I recently got the (rarely felt for me) pony bug and I'm trying to get a nice full set of g4/4.5 ponies, one of my main targets being the Ultimate Equestria Collection set with the Mane 6 + Celestia, Luna and Cadance.
However I'm sure sure what kind of hair they have, and being very picky about hair I was wondering if anyone knew- do they have the nice quality nylon, or do they have that dry nasty polypropylene that Hasbro began using a few years back? Or maybe they have nice manes and nasty tails?
I tried to search but couldn't find anything in the forum about this set- apologies if I missed something!

Wow, I can't believe I still have an account on here! Or that I even remembered the login name lol. Some of you might know me as Dollsorwhatever on Tumblr and IG, I'm not really hugely in the MLP hobby (I just literally own like seven Fluttershy dolls lol) but I thought I would just add a little note here (as I did on Tumblr) about the alternative nylon sources-
TheDollPlanet does not sell nylon, I'm not sure why they're labeling it nylon (I think they also call it something like 'Silk nylon' lol), but it's actually (I believe) PET hair; this is the kind of fiber used on heat-resisting BJD wigs. It's not bad hair, but it looks and behaves in a completely different way than nylon and isn't as shiny or luxurious as nylon. Not looking to disparage that company but figured that since we're sharing alternatives that I'd provide some input on that one in particular because I don't want anyone to purchase from them under the impression that they're getting nylon and end up with something else.
I'm sure most of you already know that Restoredoll's 'nylon' is nasty polypropylene, and the 'premium nylon' is real nylon, but thought I'd add that as well.
Retrodolls, MLC and CustomdollhairAU do sell real nylon though, and Dolltress does as well (with the added bonus that Dolltress is run by a professional hair designer for toy companies, so she knows her stuff)
Anyway, sorry for jumping in lol. This whole situation has made me really sick and I'm just trying to make sure people know there are alternative sources and which ones are selling actual nylon hair and hopefully make it easier for people to choose not to work with such a terrible person.

Thanks, every one! I'm glad to be here! Hi! Do you like any of the Disney dolls too or Barbies? I've just recently gotten interested in the newer dolls out there like the Novi Stars and I really like them. I am trying my best not to collect them though. I have to stick to just the ponies for now.
I have recently withdrawn from Barbie Playline as I really do not like dolls with big, smiley open mouths but I do like Skipper, as well as collector dolls! Still, Barbie really isn't a focus in my collection any more. I stick to dolls like Bratz, MH, Cutie Pops Ect. I do love Novi Stars, though! I only have Mae right now, because I don't like the hair quality on the rooted ones. They are really cute! I do adore Disney Store dolls! I only have a Merida doll right now, as I haven't had a chance to drive to the DS, but I really love the newest Signature collection!

Do you work or attend school? Profession or major? I'm fresh out of High School and still figuring every thing out. I should be in Hair School by January!
Who are the important people in your life? Definitely my Mother, as well as my Best Friend (whom I converted to dolly-ism). I also feel the need to include my two dogs and cats!
Ponies:
How long have you been collecting? Officially, about a year. I have had ponies my entire life. I remember how much I loved my G2 Playset Ivy!
Which generations of ponies do you collect? G1, G2, G3 or G4? G4 mostly, with a few G3s ere and there. I would love a few G2s.
What made you want to collect ponies? I have loved ponies since I was little, but my love was revived about a month before I found G4s. I only have four, but I still love them!
Tell us about your collection! I mostly collect dolls. ( some of you might remember me from My Scene Hangout, as well as Flickr) I love playline dolls like MH, Bratz, as well as other new lines like La dee Da and Novi Stars. I also have a few Blythes, which are definitely my favorite doll!
Anyhoo, I'm really happy to finally be here! I look forward to meeting ya'll!
