Getting ready to head to the fairgrounds to start setting up. Hope to see some of you there. Wasn't able to get everything priced though. Major headache last night. Remember, you can always make me offers. I am totally not good at pricing stuff.  :)

How far is it from bridgeview, il??

I believe it is a little over 5 hours away.

Yup, same person. Those blue marks are slowly appearing on all the ponies cause even the G3s are getting blue marks on them. Must be the way they are being stored and there must be something in the bin with the ponies that is doing that. They didn't always have them.

You can find pretty much anything here. You never know what you might find.
Yeah, I haven't found luck at the flear market the past times I've been... Maybe for about the first year that I discovered it did I actually have decent luck.  Now, I agree... there's pretty much one lady that's outside that has her bin of (in my opinion) overly priced ponies for the commonality (is that a word?) and condition they're in.  Every once in a great while I'll find something...but I usually walk out empty handed.  I can't spend a lot of time in there anyway, because I can't stand the flea market crowds.  People walking slowly and in the middle of the aisles so I can't pass really irritates me, lol.
I used to find all my g1s here years ago back in the 90s early 2000s. They pop up now and then but only a couple at a time. I know the exact person you are talking about. We kind of know them. Her husbands name is Brad. They have had those ponies for so many years now they are starting to take less for them. I think they are getting tired of them. They aren't in the best of condition though.  Some are some what decent. I have gotten some neat pony items from them in the past for a good price but watch them. They get there prices from the old Debra Birge pony book. That is why prices are so high.

Hey, Whiskerz - About how many G1s do you think you'll be having?  I may swing by if I have time :-\  February is stupidly busy!

I did a quick count of them and came up with around 30 or so G1s. I also have a big brown My Pretty Pony, a nursery and dream castle plus a few other things.

Off Topic / Re: Curious: how did you choose your user name?
« on: January 29, 2012, 09:09:12 PM »
I use my user name every where. On Ebay, Etsy, the TP, and now here. Whiskerz was my cat. She just past away last Easter weekend at 19yrs old. :( I changed the s to a z just because I like it and it's different. The 85 is the year I was born.

Introductions / Re: Hi from the pony girl!
« on: January 29, 2012, 08:06:29 PM »
Thanks everyone for the nice warm welcomes! :)
Welcome to the Arena, Pinkie Pie does seem to make good armies.
Yes she does!
Welcome!  Do you hit up the st. Clair fairgrounds flea market often?  I make it down there every so often... not too far away :)
Yes I do. I live not even 5 minutes away. I've been going almost every weekend since the early 90s with my parents. Actually, about 3/4 of my vintage ponies came from there. Now a days I mainly only find g3s there. Back in the 90s early 2000s I was finding g1s almost every month.

Welcome to the Arena!!  What a cute ferret in your avi!  :lovey:  600 ponies is a lot, sounds like you have a great collection.
Thanks! That's my ferret Sweetpea.

Hi! I'm from Illinois too! Cool bumping into someone else who collects and with such a big herd. That is really impressive.
Hey! In all my years of collecting I have only run into a handful of collectors from around here. Nice to meet you. :)

Welcome to the Arena!  Pinkie Pie is a great army to have.  ;)
Isn't she! I just love her! I'll post a pick of my army sometime. The last time I took a pic of them was back in 09 so it has really grown since then.

Introductions / Hi from the pony girl!
« on: January 24, 2012, 09:06:41 PM »
Hi everyone! My name is Robin, I'm 26, and I live in Illinois. I am a member on the tp and thought I'd come on over here to the arena to get double the pony goodness. I have been collecting since the early 90s. My dad is a collector of many different things and was the one who got me started collecting ponies. I collect all generations. I go to the flea market and toy show a lot. Many venders there know me as the pony girl.  The last time I counted my pony herd I believe I was around maybe 600 or so. Not sure what it is now. I also kind of have a Pinkie Pie army.  Lots and lots of Pinkie Pies.
