Arts & Crafts Corral / My Pony fan character(Colored pic finished)

EDIT: Bumping this thread as I've finally finished my pic. :3

Couldn't think of a good background since I ran into art block.

I thought up this fan character in 2005(I think it was around that year but couldn't remember) but haven't gotten around to draw her until recently. Here's a bio of her.

Her name is Fire Star, she's a pegasus pony and her symbol is a ten pointed star with flames surrounding it(her star symbol was gonna be similar to Twilight Sparkle but I was afraid that I would get accused of making her into a recolor so I scrapped that).

She's an Elemental Guardians of Dream Valley and her element is fire. She loves adventures, helps out with other ponies, has a fiery temper, very competitive, and likes to have fun. Her favorite foods is hot spicy meals and her favorite snacks is Hot Peppers and Jalapenos.

As for her powers, since her element is fire, she can handle extreme heat like being inside a volcano, walk across(or swim) in the lava, use a fire barrier on her friends and passengers to protect them from extreme heat, walk through fire, can breath fire, withstand a heatwave in a summer times) and can fly over the heat fumes with no problem(if you remembered the Magic Coins episode where Megan and Wind Whistler went to a volcano to get the red gem, Wind Whistler couldn't fly over there because of the heat fumes and messed up her air turbulence. Fire Star can do that but normal ponies can't).

Her weaknesses is water and ice. She can't handle the cold, she can't swim, she can't come in contact in water(except hot springs since it provides heat), doesn't like ice cream(unless it's a hot peppers and jalapeno ice cream and yes, there is such thing for that in real life), she can't go to a snow area's nor go to high mountains, and anything she comes in contact with snow or water will weaken her greatly and drains her powers. The only way to get them regenerated is for her to come in contact with her element like fire or hot springs.

Her fire ruby necklace helps her to control her powers as well as using it to help others to withstand extreme heat but it can only be used for a short time since it can drain her energy so it has to be used carefully.

I'm gonna use her for my Little Pony fanfiction I'm writing and it's gonna take place in Dream Valley since she's a G1 pony. Here's a sketch pic of her. I will get around to color her soon as I've already decided the colors for her. Hope you guys like it and enjoy a sneak peak of my fanfiction.

Off Topic / Saturday Morning Cartoons
« on: June 10, 2012, 12:53:22 PM »
I was watching some commercials of Saturday morning cartoons on Youtube and I remebered my childhood days of getting up and watching cartoons on Saturday mornings but this one channel is my favorite of all, second was the Fox Kids cartoons.

I first saw it when I was almost twelve in summer of 96 when me and my bro were spending a weekend at my aunt's house. My mother didn't have a cable back at our house(my mother was a single parent back then and had to work a lot) so it was a luxury for us to watch other shows that we didn't have like Nickelodeon, Disney, MTV, etc. We saw Mighty Max on Saturday morning(how I missed those days of waking up and watching cartoons on Saturday) on the USA channel, known for kids it was called USA Action Extreme Team. It used to aired Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm, Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog(also known as SaTAM), Sailor Moon, Mighty Max, Savage Dragon, Street Sharks, Gargoyles, and Super Mario World. We would eat our favorite breakfast cereals like Rice Krispies, Lucky Charms, Coco Crisp, or any junky food cereals that we can only eat for summer, not in school days. 8D

Before that, we only had ten channels at our house and the only cartoons we can watch is on Fox where they used to aired the kids cartoons on mornings, afternoon, and Saturday mornings. We also loved Fox Kids, next to USA Action Extreme Team. It would aired Spiderman, X-Men, The Incredible Hulk, Big Bad Beetleborgs, Power Rangers, The Tick, Eek the Cat, Digimon, Pokemon, Ninja Turtles, VR Troopers, Life with Louie, and Goosebumps. It would last till twelve but during the shows, it would show other celebrities promoting the bumpers of Fox Kids such as Louie Anderson where he's in a world of The Simpsons. XD

I would like to hear your memories of Saturday Morning Cartoons. :3

To help you clear up the part you have with the Ponyland and Dream Valley, Ponyland is the main part, region as they say in the Writer's Guide and Dream Valley is the district where the waterfall and Paradise Estate is. ^.^  There ya go! If you want proof of it, I can take a picture for you = D
Please do! We'll be grateful if you did that. :3

Thats fine! I just wondered as the toys are G1, I didnt realise some people called the cartoons G1.5...

The name is unofficial so that's why we called it G1.5 instead of Tales since it's different from the previous one. :3

Yea I totally understand...
Okay I got all of my vintage ones out.  Sadly I do not have all flat foot, but these are the vintage ponies which might be better to use until someone can post a photo of all flat foot.  I don't know if they look any different from the others other than the bottom of their hooves..so it may not matter.  If he wants he can use this photo. I would love to help.  If he needs a better photo just let me know.  He needs to save this and load it on his own photo hosting site as this is just a tiny pic and I don't know how long it will last.  Let me know if there is another pony you need a photo of..I might have it...I dont have a huge collection but I have some neato ponies. ;)

Awesome! Thanks! That one's good enough and I'll note Raptor about the changes when he gets back online. :3
We may need more in the future but not yet. When we get there, I'll give you a heads up.

Its really neato to have a blog like that...bravo  :cheer: :cheer: :iconclap:   The only thing that bugs me is that he has used the wrong ponies for 1982 year 1.  Those first two pony photos are all reproductions at least most of them are. They were made only a few years ago. He really needs to put a photo up of the original versions rather than reproductions. JMHO...  Thanks for sharing the site.  This is the post I am talking about where the 1st 2  pictures are repros rather than originals.

About that, those pics are mine and he wanted to use them since he didn't want to take others pics without their permission and get in trouble for it. I do have the original 1982 Blossom but that's all I have. Maybe you can help us by asking any members here if they have the original 1982 pony pics or suggest a sites that allows him to use it. :3

One of my members of MLP-History group from Deviantart, noted me about the project and asking me if he could make a blogspot based on my group which I approved.

Two days later, he finished it! http://mlphistory.blogspot.com/ I already gave him my permission to use my pics for the blog and I've updated my group journal asking members if they want to participate with us by sending the pics as long we give credit to them. If you guys want to help out to educate the new fans about previous generations by using your pics, that would be great too. If not, that's fine as well.

A big thank you to ElevenRaptor who made that MLP-History Blogspot! Let's give him all the pony hugs he needs, everyone!

I've wondered that myself and I remembered that 'pink will sell better than the white' reason. Pink is not bad on Celestia but I prefer her being white. On the plus side, at least she's got a variation like the G1's have. Remember Ember and that she came in three colors; pink, purple, and blue? Little girls loved it for having three different color options and it works out for other girls.
If I could recall, Majesty didn't have a pink body nor pink hair since she was released as white body with blue hair and girls loved it. :3

Pony Corral / Re: What's the latest pony or MLP item you bought?
« on: May 09, 2012, 10:20:07 AM »
I bought Diamond Rose from CVS and Princess Celestia, and Luna, from Target while shopping for my new bookshelf for my room. I even bought my Sonic figurine as well. XD
Here's a link to pic of it in my Deviantart gallery since I didn't upload it on Photobucket.

Pony Corral / Re: MLP History Research: Pretty Pony
« on: May 05, 2012, 04:17:06 PM »
I found a website where you can scroll through the 1981 Montgomery Ward Catalog.  My Pretty Pony is there (p. 425) and she cost $13.88.  Here's the site:

http://www.wishbookweb.com/

I wasn't convinced My Pretty Pony was actually available as early as 1981, but there she is!

Sweet! Thanks! I remember in my childhood days that mom used to bring the Sears holiday catalog home so me and my bro look through it on what we want for Christmas. XD Those were the days.
And she only cost $13.99? I thought she might cost more than that like around $20 to $30 but I was way off!

Dream Valley has a Pretty Pony page:
http://www.kimsites.net/dreamvalley/my_pretty_pony.html

I got that site bookmarked already which is why I was looking for other sources instead of just one but thanks anyway. :)

Pony Corral / MLP History Research: Pretty Pony
« on: May 03, 2012, 11:10:06 AM »
I want to update my blog for my MLP-History group on Deviantart and like any other history lessons, I like to start it from beginning like My Pretty Pony since she's a predcessor of the franchise. I'm doing a research here online and wanted to ask you guys if any of you have any memories for it on your days, such as playing with it, how much did it cost back in 1981, and so forth. I don't know too much about it because I was born in 84 and that toy was long gone before I came to this world and never heard of it until the Internet came to the household.

If you also found other stuff about Pretty Pony that I have yet to find, show me the links so I can check them out.
I would like to see the pics of it too. :3

Off Topic / Re: Elder Scrolls series
« on: April 24, 2012, 10:39:10 AM »
My brother introduced me to Morrowind on PC and I fell in love with that game. X3 Since then, I've became a fan of the series and trying to finish up Oblivion since I'm busy leveling up before doing the main quest(I need to head to Weyon Peiry to find the last emperor's son and give the amulet to him). Right now, I'm doing a Mages Guild quest and about ready to fight King of Worms. I want to finish up my Fighter's Guild and join the Thieves Guild.

I've seen the gameplay of Skyrim and it looks fun. Dragons are awesome. I would have bought the game but it's too expensive so I'm waiting for the prices to go down.

My brother played Arena before long ago and wasn't too crazy about the game. I wanted to play that game and Daggerfall too since I like playing old games.

I always make my character female Breton and named her Faerie. I always loved to explore other areas, collecting random stuff, selling it, stealing items, and so forth. :3

How many of you guys ever played the Elder Scrolls series? There's about five of them so far.

Arena
Daggerfall
Morrowind
Oblivion
Skyrim

I have Morrowind and Oblivion, those games are so addicting! XD I want to play the first two and Skyrim(I don't have that game because it's so expensive). What games do you have, which ones do you enjoy playing it, quests you like, and joining the guilds? :3

I love how you have the g4s greeting her. :) So cute, they look like little fairies in comparison.
Thanks! I got the idea after taking a pic of pony sizes so I thought, 'hey, wouldn't it be cool if the FIM cast meets their ancestor?' and the idea was born! XD

I just got one, too!  And mine also has a case of the dry frizzies.  I recently posted about it--this may help:
