Hmm- I am glad you posted this.  I was just thinking of getting a 3DS but didn't realize that the battery life would be an issue.  THe XL is looking more appealing-

I have never used Epoxie- might give it a try.  I made the mistake of painting my last custom and now want to add some clay armor.  Ponies (not painted) with sculpty parts usually do well in the toaster oven if I cover their hair with foil- but I suspect that a painted pony will bubble and blister...

A call to her mother might help.

In the future, if you send cash or a money order through the mail, I would recommend sending it priority flat rate.  That comes with automatic indemnity of $70 (for domestic) as well as tracking.  It costs a few dollars extra but at least the person can't claim that it never arrived, and if it does get lost, you will have a recourse.

Hmmm- I just went to usps.com to try and find the free indemnity for priority flat rate, and don't see it.  Maybe the policy has changed.  Well, free tracking is still provided- so that is still what I would use if I had to send mula in the mail.
