Sorry but she looks just like Princess Celestia but with a new outfit. 
I have to agree with this. I mean I get its cool that there's another alicorn and the whole boy pony/wedding thing is exciting (I agree with both of those things). . .but I hate Cadence. She's a purple Celestia, and I'm sick of all this "girls only like pink/purple" crap.
I just hope this means we can finally have the REAL Celestia instead of these pink impostors.
And Malicieuse I meant the *box* art in the first post. I said right there I know she's darker in other photos and stuff I've seen.
Sorry, i thought you ment the toys being darker. : / The picture of the box could just be bit overexposed or the box could even be just a prototype. (with the whole Cadance/ Cadence thing going on.) Either way, i doubt she will be appearing white on the finished product... Also, it's a bit silly to already call this "purple Celestia" when she hasn't even appeared on the show, meaning you know nothing of her personality. And if the fact she looks like Celestia bothers you..that's the way their "race" is simply build. I mean, most of the regular ponies, in both the show and toyline look like clones apart from their hairstyle and perhaps eyes. Yet i will not call Fluttershy "yellow Rainbow Dash".

Oh Lordy... I kinda saw this coming. Here are my thoughts on the matter:
I personally feel like the show and the fandom should be separate. Hasbro made a mistake in introducing  Pony to the show. The show is intended for and marketed to young children, not people in the "brony" age range. And I think it should stay that way. If Hasbro keeps this up, the show is going to be completely run by bronies. Hasbro is just losing sight of their target audience if you ask me.
The klutzy, silly, dim character is a staple character for a kids cartoon. Besides Disney's Goofy, there is Patrick from Spongebob and Ed from Ed, Edd, and Eddy. The only thing they got from the "brony" fanbase is the name.
Actually, klutzy and dim is how she was portrayed by most of the brony community. That's pretty much why the creators decided to give her that type of personality. It's not like ponyville didn't have any dim/silly characters already. To a lot of people it seems that being cross eyed = derp = idiot. Also, characters like Patrick can be compared to Snips and Snails. Not to Pony.

Actually, it may not have anything to do with Pony's behavior or the context of the word "derp." For all we know, it could be Hasbro trying to cover its flank from the possibility of fans suing them for using a name they came up with. We don't exactly know everything going on right now.
This. From what i heared they don't wish to make the character "dissapear". Just tweak the voice and perhaps change the name. And even that isn't confirmed yet! Yet Hasbro is already getting a load of hate mail. : /

personally i think they're just being a bunch of angry toddlers.
i don't see anything wrong with the episodes. in fact i think it's nice that they are acknowledging that life isn't all sunshine and fun all the time thank you very much.

Completely agreed.
I would definitely NOT want to show my kids a show that depicted life as being 100% perfect and happy and sunshine and roses all the time. It's terribly unrealistic and I believe that that kind of "wrap mah kid in cotton wool" outlook is extremely damaging precisely because it gives the child an unrealistic outlook on life, and most importantly: constant sunshine & roses DO NOT prepare them for the big, and sometimes scary world around them.
I would never want to police what cartoons my children watch, (it would also drive me mad to try to do so because it would be unrealistic for me to expect that I can) but rather build an atmosphere of education and rewarded curiosity (rather than punishment for watching "bad things", or many important but missed lessons through deprivation) by encouraging my children to speak to their parents about how THEY feel about what they watch - rather than assume I have the ability or the right to think for them.
How does Pony show that the world is not perfect? In those 2 seconds she appeared? : / You know what characters show that the world is not perfect? The Flim Flam brothers, Gilda, Trixie, etc. Real characters with real bad intentions. It's rediculous to claim that they wish to portray the world of FIM as perfect while there are plenty of "villians" and problems in their world / lifes.

I feel like a lot of people over at EQD are jumping to conclusions. Not to mention the first post about it being vague and sounding like a way to sell more t-shirts... At this point nobody knows what is going on. Welovefine could just as well had to take the name down because Hasbro is trying to register the name or whatever. Frankly, i wouldn't mind if they changed Pony a bit and i would love it if they gave her another name. Not because the name offends me but because it's such a lame internet meme name. If you are going to create a new character at least give her a name that can withhold the test of time a bit. " Pony" will sound wierdly out of place and out of date in an x-amount of years. Again, being a fan doesn't mean you are a good writer and all that. Also, you got to admit some wierd things happened with the character. Like why did the voice actor think she was voicing a guy? Makes me wonder if they rushed the character. Some tweaks really wouldn't hurt. If they change her, i will be curious to see what they will do with her. I do believe the character can be improved and made less painfully stereotypical. I'm also annoyed at the hate storm coming from the brony community once again. I can understand their dissapointement but i really feel they are becoming too demanding. It's the same story as with the background character blind bags. When they first saw them they loved them. But the moment they noticed they didn't get the fanfiction names they got angry at it, making up excuses why they were not the background ponies. I almost pity Hasbro.

That's pretty bad. Honestly i don't buy G4 ponies online unless there really is no other option or the seller has decent pictures. I have seen too many misprinted symbols/cutie marks in stores.
Some people might like it but i would get annoyed over paying for a flawed pony.

I always saw him as a boy. But if the backcard says he is a she, than that's the way it is.
It's like Clever Clover. I always thought he was a girl until i saw his backcard again. I had no trouble accepting he was a guy. : )

Apart from what cartoon you liked better, the G3 molds are so over saturated. They need more G4 fashion style ponies. I can think of at least ten ponies or sets that all fans would love here are a few:
1. Pegasus Pinky Pie
2. Brushable main six in G1 colors.
3. FS Moondancer mentioned in episode 1
4. FS Zecora.
5. Any G4 pony in the correct colors..Twilight, Luna ect.
All those ponies are FIM related. How is that "cartoon neutral"? Also, i don't think they would use fashion style ponies. I think that might get too expensive. Also, how can one get tired of the G3 clone pose when all G4 ponies have nearly the same pose? It would be just the same, perhaps even worse, "clone pose" wise.

But everyone has their referencing way ;D
They were called babies before the show actually introduced babies. And since she stated she wasn't familiar with G4 that much it's not surprising they could be seen as babies.

I'd like to see it remain G3. I like G4, don't get me wrong, but I think it's awesome to still have G3 alive in that way, because I really loved G3 and I often miss it.
I already feel like the Comic Con pony will probably be G4 this year or maybe next. It would actually kind of make sense, since G4 is so popular. Though even there I would love to see G3 stay alive!
Yeah, i would not be surprised if they decide to make Pony or some character like that for Comic Con. That's why i hope the fair pony will at least be an art pony.

I don't care that much about them. There are a couple i wouldn't mind owning but if i never find them i will not be very bothered by it.
I own a couple of the G3.5 and mermaid blindbag ponies and i think their paint job was kind of sloppy.
If the G4 ones have the same kind of paint job i can't say i will be very impressed by them.
But i never was a big fan of ponyville either. Though ponyville at least had some fun playsets.

I wouldn't mind a G4 pony. However they should actually stick with her being an ART pony and not make her some character from the show...That would kind of alienate every pony fan who isn't into FIM.
I like FIM but i want something more interesting than yet another version of the main characters or some boring background pony. I also agree that G3 ponies make better art ponies. Just more space to work with.
