That first bit sounds like it might be a folder location thing.  I remember reading about that somewhere -  I'll try to find a link to the discussion...

I'd go with chrome or brushed nickel - brass tends to scream late 80s/early 90s.  It might come back in, of course, but if you're selling this year, I think it's one to avoid.

We're actually considering redoing one of ours for that reason - the previously homeowners redid the kitchen and 2 other baths in 2005, but skipped the one that they refinished first in 1994.  It's a good-quality job, it just looks dated (we might be moving in the fall).

For professional fluency, English and French and socially I can get by in Afrikaans, Dutch and German.  I can speak vacation Spanish, and understand a decent amount of it socially, but I couldn't get by in any kind of formal situation with that.

I studied Vietnamese and Kiswahili at university (I was a linguistics major), but I've lost them both to lack of use.

Good luck to your hockey team!

I'm into endurance sports myself - big fan of travelling to the international marathons, but love the local events too.

In terms of spectator sports, I enjoy watching rugby (union and league - I'm not picky) although I'm a bit of a fair weather fan, so I sometimes support a new team every season.  My husband (and his entire family) are huge soccer/football fans, so I tend to watch quite a bit of that just be association.

Mine is just longer than shoulder length - frankly it needs cutting.  I generally prefer to keep it just long enough to tie back.

Off Topic / Re: Insanity Workout: I WILL BE THIN!!!

I like all the programs that have that combination of plyometrics and body weight work, so I'm a fan.

My OH basically decided he wanted to lose weight, and not to be outdone by all the fit guys at work who lift etc, he decided to really go for it and do Insanity. Of course, he's trying to force as many people to do it with him as possible and I got dragged along.!

I'd give one warning on that - the kind of fitness that you develop doing this kind of cardio is actually really different from what you get doing a strength (or bodybuilding) type lifting routine.  If you're starting at a fairly unfit level you'll get stronger, and if you're overweight you'll probably loose, but if he's comparing himself to lifters, he might not be happy with the end results, just because its a different kind of fitness.

I don't actively collect them, but I do have a few of my childhood ones, and have them on display with my general toy collection:

Off Topic / Re: Engagement ring - wedding ring question!
« on: March 23, 2013, 11:35:39 AM »
I know quite a few people who get a wedding ring that matches their engagement ring so that they have the look of a single ring, but just as many people wear non-matching ones on the same finger.

I wore my engagement ring on my right hand for about 6 months after getting married (our weddings rings are tungsten and so are very thick), but I eventually stopped wearing it at all.

He's not an Iplehouse, but an IMPLdoll. Iplehouse doesn't make fantasy dolls, unfortunately. BUT , lemme say that I am really jealous. i love IMPLdoll fawns ;.; I'm thinking of getting Gela soon.

Lol I definitely knew this...what a brainfart!  That's what I get for reading the bjd thread while writing this :)

They did! Luna the Lion Tamer. She comes with cat parts which I may or may not have been stalking for ages. XD

There was a lion-headed Tedros and a Chimera version of Chase too.  And the first BIDs came with fantasy legs as well, so it's not a totally strange mistake to make! :)

Most of my favourites are either the big Vertigo series from the 90s (Preacher, Transmetropolitan) or French SF books (Metabarons, Magalex), although I enjoy quite a few superhero books as well.

One new series that I might recommend is "I Love Trouble" - it's only three issues in right now, but it's nicely written and drawn (and the physical copy comes on really nice paper stock).

I picked grey but I suppose I could have just as easily gone for "other" since they're actually grey on the outer edges and brown around the pupils.
