You found Lofty at a furry convention? That's awesome! I found ponies at an anime conventions before, and my local furry convention  (Further Confusion) has a brony party. I just gave someone Parasol at that convention as well. What convention did you find Lofty at?

That's incredible! Klingons and ponies go together oddly well. BABSCon (California brony con) has a Klingon themed party on the party floor every year and they're a huge hit. Qa'plA!

White hair on a blue pony is a really pretty color combo.

Any brothers (ones with Clydesdale type hooves) or any gimic or 3D symbol ones. Perfume Puff, princesses, merry go round, so soft, pocket pals, etc.

Basically ponies that have gimmicks that haven't aged well.

I wasn't aware Portobella was that expensive O.o.

The one I don't get is G4 Starswirl. I get that she has limited distribution and I also get that she's pretty. But I don't get why someone was selling her for $200 around Christmas. And I genuinely wonder how long she'll hold the $80 pricetag, too. Is she the G4 Mimic? Answers on a postcard...
Thanks for your input. Portobella isn't THAT expensive, but she's still like $30 while most g3s are like $5-10

"Gaps" are toy sales poison. They only work when the previous product has been really badly received and they want the public to forget the tainted name until the all new reboot comes along.

Also, the audience for MLP is little girls and not adult collectors who need wallet breaks.
Kids grow out of girly toys super fast these days. Not having a steady flow of pony could make them lose out on new fans/buyers.
it's the adults who are buying the toys for the little girls, mind you, and with the economy how it is- collectors or not, those adults would also need wallet breaks.
But kids who want toys will always want toys. Clearance of mlp toys would be good for wallets, but a real clean break would mean the kida would move on to another toy line instead.

I'm honestly curious why some ponies are so expensive, G1 mail-order aside. Sweet Scoops? Mimic? Cutesaurus? G3 Portobella? Etc.
I'm not complaining about price, I'm genuinely curious.

Strawberry Reef may be great for G3, but I still haven't forgiven it for still claiming white Tootsie is a UK pony a good 16 years after that myth was fully debunked.
Wait, where is white Tootsie from? My mom got one for me from Europe and I hope the shipping cost wasn't in vain.

As a kid, my first pony was G2 Skyskimmer, who I later renamed Fluttershy after the g3 pony, funny enough. I took her on car rides all the time as a kid, complete with whatever accessories of hers I had left. Once I got Ivy, they became an inseparable pair. But once I got my first G1 ponies, Cherry Treat became my new favorite.

I love white ponies, and my only white g2 pony was from McDonald's.

As an adult, I don't take toys with me to go places, but I kind of take Salty and Braided Beauty to dreamland with me by keeping them on my nightstand.

I think a new gen each decade is a nice easy way to keep track of gens, gap or otherwise, though a gap of more than a year seems like too much. Even during a gap, they should still keep ponies on the shelves for kids, the real money makers.

Yes I do! I'll PM you.

Is USA shipping particularly cheaper than other countries? I ask cuz I have a g2 puzzle but it's barely worth its own shipping cost within the US.
