If I am correct, I think that they started using non metal washers on ponies in G4 but I think all the G-3's have metal washers... I have never seen one without one that is a G3
Unless you want to, you wouldn't have to remove all the metal washers as long as your ponies aren't wet.

Might be a weird question, but I was wondering if there is a list of G3s that have metal tail washers so I could know wether to preemptively remove them from the ponies I have. For reference I currently only own Desert Blossom (who has some brown near the base of her tail so I’m opening her up regardless), Precious Gem, Forsythia, Sparkleworks II, and Moondancer

I would never buy a MIB/MOC that was super expensive anyways, I’m mostly a g3 collector. If I buy a g3 in-package I’m gonna open it bc they’re not worth crazy amounts of money and imo they’re not displayed well in the packaging. 1-2 I just wouldn’t be able buy it packaged anyways even if I was inclined to open it (which I’m not) unless it was one of the repros.
edit: also the reason I would buy an in-package g3 is because I love the accessories and none of the loose ones ever keep theirs

I just don’t see the appeal in keeping your ponies in a box!!! You can’t see them properly or play with them at all! Why do people do this it seems so boring and pointless. I’d rather not have the pony at all than have it in a box. If I ever buy a boxed pony for a reasonable price you bet I’m busting that thing open and freeing the pony

I've done this! I've made tops and skirts before. I also like to make boots and hats for my ponies from craft foam. I'll have to see if I can make a pattern for the clothes to share. I was thinking about making a tutorial for the hats and boots, too.
Come to think of it, it's been a little bit since I've made some ponywear. I should do something again soon.

One thing that always bothers me is how lazy Hasbro can get not only with paint apps but also with design accuracy. How hard must it be to switch out two colors? That's why I used to pre-order the Takaras, because the Hasbro ones just had the plastic colors switched for no reason.
I was honestly mad they released the insecticon Kickback twice, both times with yellow tinted wings... so my trio is still incomplete unless I find the Takara one. Kickback's wings are not supposed to be piss colored 
Yeah most of the ones on my want list are third party haha, hasbro just doesn’t make quality tf figures anymore

Eventually it became too much for me and I sold most of my collection to some guy at a comic-con for $50. Selling online was too much of a pain and at least I made someone pretty happy that day. I absolutely don’t mind “flawed” ponies at all! I’m the same about my Transformers (I have a G1 Inferno who’s missing his everything, even hands haha). I’m here for childhood nostalgia, not a flawless collection if that makes sense. I see all these ebay listings and stuff on here for “bait” ponies that have like, a few marker dots and some messy but still fixable hair! I appreciate how worthless people seem to think they are though because I’m broke 😂 The only pony I would think of as beyond redeemable would be if all their hair was missing/cut or if they had mold/regrind/cancer.
