Pony Corral / Re: Ponies and your wallet

Hmm, I think the most I've ever spent on a pony was on Macau Jenny - I paid 60$ for her. The next in line would be NBBE Baby Ribbon who I paid around 40$ for, but she was totally worth it! I adore that little girl and then I had already lost more auctions on her than on any other pony I've bid on (because of snipers :argh:). When she finally arrived and was perfect(!!) I was so happy I could gladly paid 90$ for her!

I've also paid 35'ish$ for a baby Cherries Jubilee, but that was when I had a brief return to the ponyworld after a long absence, and trust me - after collecting Ball-jointed Dolls for years - 35$ seemed like a STEAL :iconclap:

other than that I think all my ponies have been under 10$. Oh, except my new G4s who I bought in my local store for 19$ Before I knew what they were going for online *sigh* But hey, Norway is always expensive so why would I believe MLPs were any different

Oh, really? I snagged up my first two G4s here the other day, from a local store and saw at least four of her on the shelves. If I would have know I would have taken her as well, instead of buying Applejack and Rainbow Dash who are quite common after all :D Oh well, they are my favs after all ;)

I haven't watch the whole show, just some few episodes from season 1 ( I really like the show though - to my surprise! It has a lot more in common with the original MLP movies and episodes than the G3 based show ever had!).

BUT I would love to see some brushable boys! Big Mac, of course, but also that brown boy pony - Dr. Whooves, or something? And other brushables that do not have pink in them. I know many likes pink, but I am more fan of ponies without the pink ;) I love Lyra's color combo! More like that! EDIT: Totally forgot about that awesome boy pony, Thunder-something? Is it Thunderlane? Thundercloud? You all know who I'm talking about right? He is really something <3 And that wonderful Ditzy Doo into a brushable. I would so buy her!

Aaaaand of course, being a G1 enthusiast - more G1s made into G4s! Why is there only Applejack, when they have soo many awesome ponies from the G1 line to pick! Some of the ponies I would love to see includes Majesty(oh my!), Gusty, Firefly (yes, I know she is pink, but she is FIREFLY after all), Glory, Flutterbye (weee - that would be awesome!), Ribbon (all time fav unicorn!), Hopscotch (because of that AWESOME cutie mark she has), Blossom (but like baby blossom with light lavender coat and white hair - I would so buy an army of her).

And of course, one of my all time fav's - Macau Jenny and Alternate Birthflower May (Lily of the Valley). Both of them have awesome color combo's that deserve to get used again ;) Not likely to see any of them though, but hey - a girl can dream, right?  :P

And talking about G1's, wouldn't it be great seeing some baby ponies from G1 as G4 fillies - like the newborn babies Sandcastle, Nibbles and Dibbles and how about Wiggles? Wee - that would be so much fun!

aww - that is no fun! But trust me, I am a person who loses things on a regular basis (not only ponies, but wallets and cellphones and glasses and everything that is important in my life) and you know, it ALWAYS turns up again. That is the beauty with things that are lost (not stolen) - they have a tendency to find their way home again.

*big hugs*

I just wanna make sure I wouldn't be breaking any copyright rules trying to sell prints of MLP on Etsy.  I have some ideas already sketched out and such... but would it work? Or would the fair be my best bet?

I understand that, but you're not going to break any more copyright laws selling on etsy, than you will selling on the MLP Fair or any other places ;) I did a search there - and just with MLP drawings it came up quite a few. I'm going to put up a link as etsy isn't auctions: http://www.etsy.com/search/handmade/art/drawing?q=my+little+pony&view_type=gallery&ship_to=ZZ&min=0&max=0

If you are still in doubt about the copyright, I would ask Hasbro directly. Your drawings however aren't copied directly from MLP - they are just MLP inspired, so I would think it would be fine :) Good luck! I can't wait to see more of your work!

Hi everyone,
I never thought of posting my pictures in the Pony Art section, but then I saw pukunui's wonderful photography and got inspired

I can't draw anything at all - I am terrible at it, but I always enjoyed photography and expressing myself through my photos rather than through drawing. I mostly take pictures of G1s, but I have some G3s as well, and I am thinking of getting some G4s for photography too.

Have you thought about opening an Etsy account as well to sell your art?

And, no, honestly, I haven't thought of an etsy account. I've never really been on there.  Could I do MLP prints and such there, as well as sell original prints and be open for commissions?  Is it a bit like DA?

Etsy is a great advice! You should check it out. You could absolutely sell prints, original prints and be open for commision on Etsy. That is mainly what you would do there. A part from DA, Etsy is more accessable for non-artists as well. I haven't been much on DA because I am no artist - at all. Etsy is for selling your work, so lots of people check in there only to buy stuff. And you could sell other stuff there too (like vintage ponies and accessories). I love etsy, and lately there seems to be more and more MLP related stuff there too.

I think G1 stuff is always welcome. Some of the more popular ones like Gusty and Firefly might sell well. Also, the flutters (I love them at least!) and the original baby ponies. How about some of the rarer ones too? Like Mimic? I'm not sure about that though, she is expensive for a reason, but I don't know how huge fanbase she really has...

FiM is a safe bet I think, but on the other hand - it will probably be TONS of FiM related stuff there. A good mix might be the best thing, and G1 with G4 seems to be the most popular generations.

Aww - open her up and play with her, I'd say! That's what I would do! Ponies are meant to be enjoyed!

AND, my fav pony of today - as well as most days - is this little cutie-pie:

Everything that does not belong in my collection  I have this huge issue with having too much things and if I can't justify keeping them I am almost always getting rid of stuff because thinking about it makes me crazy. Being a collector of accessories kind of makes that a problem sometimes, because you tend to get A LOT of extra stuff when you buy accessories - stuff you don't need :P Right now I have a xylophone and green baby bottle that I just really don't need and it drives me insane :yikes:

Hha, and I also seen those Pony-fakies when I'm searching for MLP at the Swedish auction sites. I really don't like them :lookround:

I would probably be too overwhelmed to anything for a couple of days , and then I guess I would have to sell it all and start over again  :P
