I ordered Heart Throb from Alfy's Toy Shop, and this was the picture on the sales page: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginPersonally I'm not fussed about whether she's pink-pink or grayish pink. I think she looks awesome either way and look forward to adding her to my small Basic Fun collection. Still, I can definitely understand why some folks might be disappointed about color inaccuracies.

Thanks for sharing the link to that site!
I've just ordered from Alfy's Toys. They use Sendle instead of Australia post, so the local shipping seems cheaper than expected.

Does anyone know the actual size? I can't go to my local Big W anytime soon, and I can't see any dimensions on the links.

Even though this item is currently only out in Australia, so far we having seen anything official about it being EXCLUSIVE to Australia. Looking at a high-res picture, the holographic stamp appears to say "only 4000" made. That seems like a lot for just Australia.
At first I did find the 4000 item count to be a huge number for Australia. But there are 182 Big W stores, so they could hypothetically sell out of the plush toy if twenty people bought the item at each store. Not saying this will happen, but it's not theoretically impossible? I sincerely hope this isn't only an Australian exclusive. As much as it seems cool that my country gets an exclusive, I absolutely dislike it when *anyone* has to miss out on anything. We Aussies certainly experience this a lot when it comes to global distribution, hah :-)

try living in NZ, basic fun doesn't care there
Has NZ had any Basic Fun releases at all? In Basic Fun’s defense, there isn’t a company ever created that didn’t want their products sold world wide. It’s not like Basic Fun has just decided that they don’t want to sell to some countries. There is so much involved in a company selling outside their own borders. Laws and trade agreements and they have to find a store that’s willing to sell their products. If a local store isn’t willing to sell Basic Fun products then it isn’t their fault that ponies aren’t readily available to everyone.
I do agree with you, but I guess I have this unshakeable feeling that some countries are not even a blip on Basic Fun's radar. Admittedly, this is coming from my own perspective as a person with limited access to the Basic Fun treasure trove. So I'm definitely not an objective voice, hah! I re-read my post and I do regret that it does sound a bit sulky. In spite of my frustration with the distribution blindspots, I am actually pleased for people who will be able to nab these as they arrive

I hope Basic Fun doesn't forget Australian buyers. We folks here still need the rainbow series two ponies (and a lot of the others, come to think of it.) I know I should be grateful that we've gotten Collector Ponies and Rainbow 1 ponies, but I feel like we're constantly getting the short end of the stick

I'm hoping that Australia doesn't have to wait three years to get the rest of BF's G1 range. We took so long to get Collector Ponies, but they seem to be selling really well at Aldi. There's tons of reports on social media about stores running out of CPs. I've actually been to my local Aldis and seen a full complement of ponies, only to come back a few days later and find them almost all gone.
Basic Fun should realize that there *is* a market here. They just need to be butts into gear and do something about it. There were a few local news websites that wrote articles about retro MLP stuff coming back, so there was even a small splash of press here.

Wait... so are these G5 or not?
And does anyone know if these are hard plastic instead of vinyl. I personally would love to see more hard plastic horses in general.

I think one issue with the straw method is that straw curls are relatively chunky. The original curls on PG fit together like maggi noodles, and it could be hard to get those interlocked and tightly formed curls by using straws. You'd need to use a LOT of straws and somehow interlock them nicely. That could be a doozy One alternative would be to take out all of PG's hair and reroot her with some pre-curled hair that holds a similar curl. For example, stuff like this would be a possible reroot material. Bear in mind that such curly hair is harder to manage in a reroot job. visitors can't see pics , please register or login

I would advise against trying to recurl PG's hair. I've tried to do so myself, and it's pretty hard to recreate the exact look. This is why I have two Precious Gems: one that is MIB and meant for display purposes, and a second one that I deboxed and straightened out into a super-long-hair pony.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but she seems to be the ONLY pony of any generation with this type of curled hair.

Apparently we're finally getting the Collector Pose ponies in Australia, at Aldi of all places! Cotton On sold the Rainbow ponies if I recall correctly, but nothing else has made it to Aus as far as I know.
Yep! We're getting them on October 30th at Aldi. Which means Rainbows Series Two will probably be in Australia in 2023 :-) I'm not complaining though. Imagine being able to walk into a store and buy retro MLP figures? Even if it's just the collector's ponies? I'm going to try and pick them up in person. My head would explode if Aldi somehow gets the other lines.

I feel blessed we've had so much - I actually think given we have rainbows before classic retro here we might get Bow Tie's set in next year's wave too - but angry for other international fans who have had such a troublesome time with them. Although I'm admittedly quite jealous, I am also deeply thrilled for the pony folks in the UK and US. I do absolutely need to mention that aspect I get a vicarious rush when I see people upload pictures of their in-store finds. Quite often, there's a tangible excitement to a lot of those posts.

Gah... that blue concerned pony is beyond cute o_O
Has anyone done a rehair of her? She would look amazing with something pink.

Hi folks,
Does anyone have the accessories that went with Lady Lovely Locks' Lilybubbles?
I'm basically after the lilypad and pink flowers. Possibly the pixietail too. Could you please PM me if you have these items. With regards to shipping, I'm located in Australia.
Best wishes :-)!
