This is my rendition of Saphira from the book Eragon.  She was made for Okami during the literature swap.  I made her using both Sculpey and Magic Sculpt.  At first, things went really well and I was elated.  Then, it felt like everything fell apart.  I had a nightmare attaching the wings and it caused some unsightly issues, an irritating horn break I had to patch, and left the wings in a position I hadn't intended.  I had a hard time rebounding from my mistakes, but I learned from them and feel like I can use what I learned to continue to improve.

My partner for the Disney/Pixar Swap was Uninu.  Her top pics were Lion King characters and I LOVE The Lion King so I just had to make one!  I had fun and yet lots of stressful moments working on Sarabi.  This is Sarabi Mark 2.  The first one ended up all wrong in color, and I was never happy with her sculpted ears.  My daughter made up my mind about whether to make a different one or not when, not long before the shipping deadline, she decided to break the tail on the other one. X.x  Anyway, here she is.

I've been searching and searching for some horses that are realistic (at least somewhat) colors and hard plastic.  It hasn't actually been an easy search!  I guess realistic horses must not be very popular right now.   Anyway, I found some Barbie horses from the good old days and then noticed that the Bratz horses and rather pretty, too.  I was wondering if anyone out there might have some with their saddles and bridles that they might be willing to trade to me for ponies.  I would love new in box, but good condition with no hair cuts and their tack is okay, too. 

Well, Spinel was a really big challenge for me, but I enjoyed making him.  It was my first time using Magic Sculpt and my first full body sculpt.

My partner for theTwisted Fairy Tale Swap as Texasgal.  I was super excited to have her as a partner because she made me a blind bag pony once and I wanted to make her a custom.  She didn't want anything scary or gory and mentioned an interest in Celtic and Bubblegoth.  I wasn't sure how to make a Celtic pony and give it any real edge, so I grabbed Bubblegoth and ran with it.

It was my first sculpted pony and I was super excited with how it was going...until, I broke it to pieces.  I had made the mistake of leaving the head on the bait and then sculpting.  So...when I wanted to put her hair in...I shattered my work to pieces.  I was -devastated-.  At first, I didn't think I could rebound, but my parents took my kids for a day and I started fresh on a new pony and had all the sculpting done by the end of the day.  Only problem...I was terrified to break it again so I agonized over the painting.  While it normally would have been a smooth process, I made it twice as stressful as it had to be.

Anyway, I called her Six while I was working on, Roogna also suggested Pen or Penelope (Pen is a female swan).  She is the princess from The Six Swans.  She has had a traumatic life.  Her evil stepmother turned her brothers into swans, so she has to give up speaking and sew them tunics out of a special flower.  It will take her many years.  She is, in the meantime, married off to a king.  She gives birth to three children...all are taken away by the evil stepmother.  So, she is quite a headcase, if you can imagine.  Six wears a bodice made of shed feathers from her brothers, a gas mask to help her remember not to speak and to hide her expressions, three skull earrings to represent her stolen babies, and she keeps her needle and thread up on her hat.

MOC Munchy - Great condition, the card bends with the bubble a bit, but crisp, pretty and the bubble is attached.

MIB Peach Blossom - Pony is good, box isn't perfect, the plastic has crinkles, yellowing tape, and some small spots of brown (must have been splashed)

MIB Forget-Me-Not - All great, just one small crinkle in the top plastic.

Wind Drifter - The plastic around the head has been removed, one small crinkle and near that a few crease-like marks in the plastic.

This was my half of the Nintendo swap.  My partner was Kaelyn.  One of the things on her list was Mario Kart.  I chose that because it seemed a little different and unique.  I tried a few variations before finally coming up with her design.  I tried to keep it a little simple and not too busy.  Almost added a koopa shell chasing Mario...but I was too afraid to mess up what I already had finished. X.x

My husband made a Midna pony for Kaelyn as well.  He just had to get in on the Nintendo action!  I don't have pics of his, they are on his phone.  But I'll add some here as soon as he forwards some to me.

Hey everyone.  I've been pretty quiet on the forums for a while because I haven't had the extra money to shop, so I haven't wanted the temptation of seeing all the awesomeness I'm missing!    Our financial situation has brought me to the next step now, however, and I'm beginning to sell off my collection.  I have lots of ponies, pony odds and ends, Monster High and other things I would like to sell to see if I can create a buffer for our January bills.  The project of taking pictures and describing everything has been daunting, so I began to wonder if there would be anyone interested in coming to a pony sale where they could see everything in person.  I'd set if up for a Saturday or Sunday within the next couple of weeks.  Any takers?
