Introductions / *awakens from a long ponyless slumber*

Yes.
I take a nap for one decade.
One decade.
And all of a sudden MLP takes over the world?
Apparently, the fandom has significantly intensified after I've left...
Who am I? I am a relict from the distant past, as my old Avalonia avatar demonstrates. I don't think I have that picture any more. But... I do still have all of my ponies!
My given name is Anjella, and depending on the context and location people may have called me by my nickname Anja instead. I have a decent G1 childhood collection, and I used to collect G2 and G3 ponies until 2010. I have lived in several places and countries the past ten years while focusing on other goals in my life (education, work, relationships, and so on). When my life became increasingly more complex I did not have the time, space or money to collect ponies any more. As a consequence most of my collection has been in storage for years. I picked up my old belongings including my collection when I moved back to the Netherlands in 2019. Seeing my old ponies ignited a spark in my soul, and I wondered if I could somehow recover my MLP Arena account.... And... It worked!
As far as the whole bronification process of the MLP fandom goes... Can you imagine being frozen in time since 2010, and awakening in 2020? Well, that sort of happened to me. My mind is still running on 2010 software most of the time. Back in the day "brony" was the term used for male MLP collectors. I basically had no idea of the whole FiM thing. I vaguely remember reading about G4s popularity back in 2018. I knew they were popular with 20-40-something men, but never gave it much thought. Personally I identify as a MLP collector mostly even though I am technically also a brony. Simply put, I could care less about 'cool' cartoons/comics if the ponies themselves are crap. Atm I am collecting G4 brushables- selectively. I am not buying all the re-releases like I did with G3- that doesn't make sense to me any more. But I definitely would like to expand my G4 collection. I am not just a G4 collector though. I basically collect all generations, but I actively collect G2 and G4.
I am generally positive about the new G5 ponies. I might collect them in the near future. It's an exciting time to be a MLP collector.
