Pony Corral / The Ditzy Doo Hot Topic Raffle: and the winner is...
« on: October 16, 2012, 09:15:45 PM »
My 18 year old son!  Maybe this is a brag topic but I just had to share. My son's bff is a total brony and I am constantly giving him ponies and pony merch because it is hilarious to watch him do the happy dance and squeal when he gets something new. Well, my son entered the contest for :muffin: Pony on a whim and got the call last night that he had won! He plans on giving it to his friend. I told him it was a good thing I already had one or we would be having a talk about who actually gets it  :P I am happy for him as I know he wanted one so badly and with prices what they are it was not going to happen. He is having a good month because I got him a Zecora and a DJ Pon-3 brony wallet and now this. Just had to share. Anyone else on here win one in their area?

Trader & Shipping Support / Needing some help from South Africa
« on: October 15, 2012, 09:49:26 PM »
This is probably a long shot but I really need some help with a purchase from South Africa. They don't ship to the states so I would need to ship it directly to someone in SA and have them ship it to me. I would of course pay all shipping fees and would be willing to help someone out if they needed me to purchase and ship something from the U.S. pony related or not. Just really need some help  Thanks in advance!   :)

Trader & Shipping Support / Uhmmm...my mailman asked me for money!?
« on: August 29, 2012, 09:06:43 PM »
I just had to share this really strange encounter with my mailman. He came to our door on Monday to deliver three packages (one which was an awesome proto Ploomette from So Silver, whoo hoo! :) Anyway, one of the packages was something I ordered from an online toy store. He hands me the packages and leaves. Well...later that afternoon he shows back up telling me that I was supposed to sign for one of the packages and he forgot to have me do that. Uhmmm...ok...a little too late but sure, why not. I sign and he leaves again. Well yesterday he shows up at my door again. This time he tells me that he forgot that the bigger package (from the online store) had postage due on it. He said it was about $8 dollars  We then stand there staring at each other for a few minutes before I say "do you have a form that says that?" He just looks at me and says "no, it was on the box, do you still have it?" Well, I didn't have it anymore because as soon as a nice sized box comes in the house I use it to ship ebay items in it and my husband had already sent packages out early yesterday morning. I didn't see anything on the box saying I owed money. I told him "I will gladly pay you if you show me a form and then I will give it to you as a check". He said again that he didn't have any form, and then he just stood there.   *chirp* I told him that I wasn't going to just hand him over $8 dollars cash on good faith. So he said, "well, ok, I guess we will have to forget it then"

WHAT...WAS...THAT!? First, why would I owe shipping when I paid it online already? Second, who does that? Sooooooo Awkward! Anyway, had to share that bizarre enounter with someone lol...

I apologize if this has previously been posted but I was at my TRU this evening to get diapers and was cruising through the pony section when I couldn't believe my eyes  The TRU exclusive favorites set was on the shelf...well one package of them was. I snagged it and headed for the check-out. At the front the girl checking me out said that they had put out a bunch of them that morning and they flew off the shelves. I thought these were not set to be released until fall? It shocked me because Washington State rarely gets anything early. I was a little disappointed with the quality of a couple of the ponies (will post pics soon...) but I love Nightmare Moon :)

EDIT: Here are some pics I took. It is almost 10pm here so my diningroom was dark, hope you can get a good idea. I am not super impressed with the quality. The glitter takes me back to the G3 days when they put a glaze smear of glitter over a section of the symbol--same thing. Nightmare Moon has scuffs and paint chips, so standard Hasbro but I really like her. This pic does not do her justice, she is so lovely in person (or in pony  :P ) I was comparing quality to my Zecora (that I coughed up money for from ebay  ) and Zecora's quality is awesome and I wish these ladies lived up to that. I still really like them though and am not at all sad I got them. You get 7 ponies for 40 bucks so not a great deal but not horrible. Now on with the pics:

Trader & Shipping Support / Need Some Advice--Ebay Transaction Issues
« on: June 02, 2012, 09:13:18 PM »
Ok, so this was for a non-pony item but I feel like I get the best advice on this forum. My daughter has recently gotten into American Girl Dolls. I bought one on ebay April 9th and paid right away. After almost 3 weeks and tracking never uploaded I finally hear from the seller who says the box "came back to her" and she was reshipping. This time when she shipped the tracking was added. That was the start of my not trusting this person.
So, the doll was described as "She is out of original packaging....gently...GENTLY used, original outfit, in FABULOUS condition!!!!
Ok, so this doll shows up and her right eye has a sun design drawn around it with marker like she was Pizazz from the Misfits or something. Her leg joints were loose but it was being written on that shocked me. I contact the seller and she says she would give me a partial refund. I tell her that I want to return it for all of my money back plus return shipping. She said she never noticed the doll was drawn on. I could tell she used a completely different doll in the auction pic. So anyway, I decide to open a case as she seems like a crazy person and I wanted a third party. She is SUPER nice at this point and says she will gladly take the doll back and give me a refund. I package up the doll and send it back. I was fully expecting her to get the doll and say something like "oh my goodness, I am so sorry, I didn't notice that" but nope...she said that her and her boyfriend looked it over and besides a small speck on her cheek the doll is perfect. This was my response:
She outright lied..I mean, I am not talking a small bit of writing here. The doll had a sun design all around her eye in orange and pink marker!! Ok, I call her out for being a liar but besides that I await my refund. I tell her that I want return shipping refunded as well (because I don't want to pay to look at a doll that was damaged) and she says:
"with my total shipping fees for both shipments being roughly $26 total, not to mention the PayPal fees of $4.46 and my shipping supplies. I'm not quite certain if after I refund you, if I will be credited for my listing fees or not. I'm sure none of what I'm saying really matters to you being you didn't feel you got what you paid for. In my defense, I feel I handled the situation in the most professional and approiate way possible, and I don't feel as though I should have to also pay YOUR shipping fees to send the item back. I think what we have agreed thus far, which is a full refund of your purchase price along with shipping is very fair...I hope you can be openminded and understand that I'm glad to take the doll back, however I'm not going to be able to reimburse you the shipping costs associated with your decision to return her. I'm really sorry...again, I hope you can understand looking in from my side. I hope you have a great weekend. Thanks"

So, in the end I got a refund minus the shipping back to her. I left negative feedback which was appropriate given 3 weeks to ship, lying, damaged doll etc. etc. However, here is where I need your advice. She relisted the doll and the person who won her has 13 positive feedback. Most are from a few years ago with all of the current feedback being from this seller. The buyer left multiple positive feedbacks for the seller, spaced out over days and weeks. This seller had 100% of her bids as of recent on this sellers items. This buyer has no other American Girl items listed in her feedback, mostly all make-up. However, she bought this doll after it was relisted on the 19th of May and left positive feedback on the 22nd of May as if she received the doll. The 19th of May was a Saturday and it ended late at night. So it couldn't technically be shipped until the 21st and it arrived the next day and she left feedback? Seriously? Does this seem fishy to you guys?
Can you see I am obsessed over this   Should I just let it go or should I report this as feedback boosting and shill bidding possibly? I think I am so angry over all of this that I am not seeing clearly. Advice everyone :) Sorry this is so long!

Trader & Shipping Support / Negative feedback a good thing?
« on: June 01, 2012, 04:48:54 PM »
I just had to share my strange conversation with an ebay rep today. So I sold a non-pony item on ebay to a buyer who had purchased multiple auctions. She accidentally left me a negative feedback with a positive comment for one of the items. She emailed me immediately and apologized and told me to send her a revised feedback form and she would fix it. Well, that was the last I heard from her. I emailed her a bunch of times until the form expired. It was the only negative feedback on my account and it was bothering me so I called ebay to have it removed. The person helping me wasn't sure if it could be removed since the buyer never responded to the form. So he goes:
"Are you sure you want to remove it?" I was like, huh? I sat silently on the other end of the line.. he goes "because it is a good thing that you have a negative with a positive comment" I couldn't keep quiet, I literally said "what are you even talking about?" He goes "well, just think how people never read the glowing comments on the feedback page. This way, your buyers will be drawn to the lovely words about you by the negative"
waahaahah, I could have peed my pants laughing so hard. I told him thanks for the stellar advice (I did use those words) but that I for one as a buyer just glance over at the percentage rating and decide not to bid if the percentage is low. I don't usually bother looking at the feedback. He said, "well, I think you are missing out on an opportunity but if we can't change it then that is the good part of it"
Oh my goodness! Where do they find these people! He finally transferred me to someone who could help but that was the funniest part of my day. Geesh...

Trader & Shipping Support / Ebay Tool Help
« on: May 17, 2012, 03:23:35 PM »
Ok, a while back there was a cool tool that someone posted about where you could enter an ebay user name and see what someone was bidding on or at least what someone had purchased/won on ebay. I am having an issue with an ebay buyer and she is claiming that the reason she didn't pay until the very last day of my NPB claim is because she was away from her computer. In the same breath she says she absolutely must have this item because she bought other stuff to go with it after she won it??? Ok, if you were online bidding on other items to go with it wouldn't you be able to jump on over and pay for the item *sigh* ok, all that aside, I am just curious and maybe a little nosey as to her claims being true or not. So does anyone remember what that site was? Thanks in advance!

Pony Corral / New Plush Spike, where the heck is he?
« on: April 26, 2012, 01:43:41 PM »
Ok, so I was at Target about a month ago and there was an end aisle with 5 or 6 of the plush baby Spike dolls. My daughter was choosing between him and the cutie crusader set and they won out. Then, when she had saved up enough to get him he is nowhere to be found. Am I missing something? I have literally never seen him again since that day  :(  Anyone live in Washington State and know of some in a store?

Not sure if this is the right place to put this and it is a total long shot but I need help with a non-pony auction. If anyone lives in Roswell, Georgia or close to it, please drop me a pm. I am willing to pay someone well for their help :)
