Hi! I'm in search of a CP Bowtie, the condition doesn't have to be great. The only one based in the US on ebay is out of my price range, and the international listings on there push my limit with the shipping, so I figured I would try here before I jumped for anything.

Fakies are hit or miss IMO, lots of collectors only get them when they're bundled in with purchases of other MLPs. Are there any known fakie brands that you would keep in your collection if you somehow acquired one? Or do you buy fakies all on their own, or not keep fakies at all? For me I would say I don't seek out fakies on their own, but I've somehow gotten my hands on a Magic Pony and a Crumpet fakie. If I end up with any more I would keep them too. I find the wonky-faced Magic Ponies endearing, and the Crumpet fakies are so sweet, I love them.

I mentioned over on the MLPTP that if I could afford an army, it would definitely be Snuzzle. Then I realized that I could make my own Snuzzles! Continuing my fakie custom trend, here are two girls I'm very proud of <3 The first custom used these interesting dollar store fakies as a base. They're hard plastic and interestingly, their hair wasn't rooted into the pony. It was rooted into a flat piece of plastic and then placed in the coin-slot-like opening on the head, which you accessed by... ripping the pony in half. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginTo make a Snuzzle out of the blue fakie, I repainted her with acrylics, sealed the paint, and then took apart the green fakie to harvest her hair for the customs gods. I used the tail to make a forelock, and the mane to make a longer tail. Snuzzle-fakie basically kept her original mane and got more hair on top of that. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginKeeping the original fakie hair was a gamble, but it was already pink so I took the risk lol. I combed it, curled it, and glued the rooted ends so that it would stop literally going everywhere.  I need to vacuum my room after this. Second fakie custom is based on one of these cuties. And since it was already going to be "off-model" being on a unicorn base instead of an earth-pony base, I decided to go all-out for this girl. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginI repainted her and made her symbol 3d with some glued-on accent stickers. I also used glitter on her horn, cheeks, and hooves, and then sealed those parts like 20 times so that none of it would escape  this was my first real rehair as well! (my previous customs just got their plug holes hacked to death so that I could shove stuff in them  ) I broke a needle in the process of hand-rehairing her, and I have a whole new respect for more serious customizers! She's rehaired with yarn and three different colors of embroidery thread. I also tied some beads into her hair. Hello friends! I decided to do some pony adoptables intended for sig use! I've been itching to do some lower-effort pony art and would love to make stuff for the lovely people on here. Just comment below if you want one (Hasbro or OC; link to character ref if it's an OC). I have never done adoptables before so if there's an issue with file size or anything let me know! They're completely free and you have some customization options, as well as Earth, Pegasus, Unicorn, and Alicorn poses available. Each image is 200 px tall and 256 px wide, and 24.4KB. I recently made another OC custom named Sunbeau! The name plays off the tradition Hasbro has of ending pony names with "belle". His colors are supposed to be darker, but I'm just working with what I have on hand atm so he's more pastel than I originally designed him  Here's how he started out. So I'm pretty young (turning 20 this year!) compared to a lot of G1 collectors I know, who owned the G1 toys as children. While I owned some G1 cartoons on VHS, I actually grew up playing with G3s and donated them when I thought I was outgrowing them (silly past me ). When FiM came out I was all over it, diving into the show and the franchise's history. Eventually I stumbled upon Ponylandpress.com and something about G1s just kickstarted a collecting urge in me that G3s and G4s didn't. Nowadays I'm primarily a G1 collector, but want to get some G2s soon. I know a lot of G1 collectors' nostalgia plays some part in their collecting (not that it's necessarily the driving force). How many collectors on here didn't own G1 in their childhoods, but collect G1s today? What endears G1s to you? For me personally I wrote a paper on my collecting hobby for a class, and I found that my collecting is probably linked to the satisfaction I get from being able to catalog and organize my collection, not to mention the sense of accomplishment I get from knowing so much about one topic. I think I latched onto G1 because I love their softer designs, and there's so many ponies and so much obscure information out there to learn about!

Hi all! With the abundance of free time on my hands I figured that I could finally get to work customizing this old fakie that's been sitting around for literal years, hairless, waiting for me to get started Technically I've customized before, but it was a G4 blind bag that I painted in 7th grade so I elect not to count it. lol So here is my first custom, of my ponysona Starsketch! I only used what I had on hand and it was certainly a learning experience (and a hack job - I'm not selling this anywhere so I took scissors to the hairplugs to be able to get the yarn through  ). There were def lessons to be learned from this project but overall I'm really happy with how they came out! Hi all! I've been working on a site that documents my collection and my ponyland. I finally threw enough stuff onto my Weebly page to feel comfy publishing it. It doesn't have much on it right now, just pics of a few ponies and a few character bios, but I'm working on it slowly! I found a lot of links on other pony sites but a lot of them were broken. I want to document as many accessible pony collection sites as I can on there. Hi there Arena! I used to have a ponysona years ago when I first watched MLP:FiM. I'm a completely different person now and wanted to take a shot at designing a new one. My old one was just a pink pegasus with my hair and my glasses, and I wanted to have some more fun with this one! Simple ponysonas are great, but I liked the idea of taking full advantage of the creativity and "magical"-ness of MLP. So here they are - sorry for the grainy image quality, my phone camera isn't the best. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginAnd here's an MS Paint doodle of their symbol because I had a hard time properly showing it on paper: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginMy old ponysona had a looseleaf paper and a pencil as their symbol, because I love to draw. I wanted to keep that aspect, but ditched the paper for a more ambiguous magical cloud. I think the new one nicely represents creativity, which is really important to me! I can also explain the nose stars... lol. I got both my nostrils pierced near the end of last year, and thought putting stars in that area would be a cute nod to that. Hi all! I posted this exact post on the MLPTP but wanted to throw it in at the Arena too to see your thoughts :~)
So every time I see someone customize a g2, I wonder if there's a way to make g2s without customizing a pre-existing pony. Not that there's anything wrong with g2 customs, I just personally see g2s so rarely that it got me thinking!
Of course there's HQG1C for g1 ponies and customs, which uses molds and not an actual 80s pony. I was wondering if anyone's ever seen anyone try to make a g2 mold or similarly "create" a g2 custom instead of making it from another g2? I feel like it would be pretty cool to do something like HQG2C - I don't have any idea what the actual process would entail, but I find the idea interesting!
Would any of you be interested in such a thing if it were to exist?

Hi! Just call me FS, I guess! I've been collecting G1 mlp (and picking up other gens along the way) since 2013-ish. I typically interact with the community on the MLPTP (I'm Truly_Scrumptious on there) because it's my first and closest-to-my-heart pony home. I wanted to hop on over to the Arena too to see more ponies and more folks I grew up with G3 but had G1 episodes on VHS as a kid. I didn't collect MLPs, though, and had gotten rid of all my G3s when I thought I was getting too old for them (there's no such thing!). What actually sparked my interest in MLP again was when I got really into MLP:FiM as a preteen and young teenager. Somehow this led me to ponylandpress.com, where I looked at literally everything possible on that website and fell in love with the G1 line! As for the non-pony stuff, I'm turning 20 this year and I'm working on a degree in Geographic Information Systems. I like to draw and play Pokemon in my free time. I'm learning Italian and I tutor for Italian students at my school! So there's a little bit about me. Thanks for having me, I'm excited to join the Arena!  -FS
