Customs / ATTENTION: Commission Artist
« on: July 08, 2013, 07:06:26 AM »
It's time to update our "Commission Artist" thread. We do this every so often to ensure that the list is comprised of current members who are still customizing. We don't want potential commissioners to have to search through pages of artists who are no longer part of the Arena or have retired so it makes sense for those of you who are current to have your information on the first few pages.

I will be posting the new thread sometime tonight or possibly tomorrow morning so be on the lookout. As always, I will provide a link to the current list so you may copy & paste your previous info. ;)

Also, this thread has been titled "Commission Artist" since before I became a member of the Arena. :P Do you think the title is sufficient or does it need to be changed?
If you have any suggestions please post here.
Thanks :)

Customs / Rainbow of Customs Game! ~Posting GRAY & BLACK!
« on: June 20, 2013, 07:46:23 AM »
It's been a while since we played this game and it's one of my favorites because it gives me a chance to see a lot of gorgeous customs that I may have missed or haven't seen in while. ;)

Here's how it works - we'll start off by posting RED customs. Once we've seen a decent amount red I'll come back into the thread and call the next color. Super easy, right?

Here are some rules...

1. Each person should only post one custom per post. I want to avoid posts with 10 - 20 ponies... let's give everyone a chance to play.

2. If you are posting a custom not created by you, please give the artist proper credit.

3. Ponies should be predominantly the specified color - in other words a white pony with red hair does not a red pony make. Don't worry, we will be including white, black/gray, and brown in the game so those gorgeous ponies will have a chance to be seen. ;)

Let the game begin!
RED

Off Topic / What's Your Splurge?
« on: June 18, 2013, 08:51:48 PM »
A little while ago I was watching the finale of The Voice. It was near the end and it got to the part where they thank their sponsors one of them being Starbucks. I started thinking about my coffee drinking habits and how much I'm willing to pay for my favorite Salted Caramel Mocha or Hazelnut Macchiato. (see how my mind works? ) Of course then I started thinking about other things I could buy with that $20 - $30 per month and realized how stupid it was for me to be paying $5 for a cup of coffee (my husband would choke if he knew I was going 1 - 2 times per week).

By the end of my thought process I had decided NOT to give up my guilty splurge. :P

So do you have something you splurge on that you know is dumb and you know you shouldn't be spending your money on it BUT you do anyway?
I know we all do it with ponies but I'm asking off topic. ;)

Customs / Some long overdue customs.....
« on: April 29, 2013, 07:11:02 PM »
Hi ponies, long time no see.
Here are a few customs I completed but never posted. None are for sale - they have been at their new homes for quite some time. ;)
I hope you enjoy them.

This is one I sold at last year's pony fair but forgot to post. Normally I spill all the details but I'm afraid that it's been so long I forgot most of them.
Anyway, this is "Little Surfer Girl".

I thought I had posted this one but looking back at my past posts I don't see her anywhere.
Anyway, this was a commission for seapony. She requested a winged pony in peacock colors and Arabella is the result.

And finally, I have this really fun commission for swancrossing18 - who is one of my all time favorite sellers here on the Arena.
This is Lilou and she was a birthday gift for sc18's sister.

Customs / ANNOUNCEMENT: New Custom Sales Board!
« on: October 09, 2012, 06:26:06 AM »
Some of you may have noticed that a new sub-forum has been added to customs. :) Now we have a designated place for custom sales!

Don't fret - you can still show off your newest creations and offer them up for sale in the customs forum. :bigups:

The new custom sales forum will be used for the following:
1. You can post a sales thread for customs that have already been shown off in the customs forum but didn't sell at that time.
2. All announcements for personal sales will go in this forum. This includes off site sales such as ebay or your personal website.
3. This is where sales threads will go if you are selling off customs from your personal collection.

The same rules will apply in the new custom sales forum as the Arena's existing sale forum.
http://mlparena.com/mlp/index.php/topic,283447.0.html

And yes, you will be allowed to cross post in custom sales and our traditional sales forum.

Please feel free to ask questions and we will do our best to answer.  ^.^

Customs / *Summer Lights* - another GITD custom
« on: October 01, 2012, 10:01:45 AM »
I have one more glow in the dark pony to show off. She was inspired by the song "Fireflies" by Owl City and has been in the works for a long time.

Originally she was the pink G3 sparkle pony but I dyed her purple. I don't usually use dye but I wanted to preserve her transparency. She was given silver and black gradients and then painted with grasses, wild flowers and fireflies. I wasn't able to pick the glow up very well in the photo but each firefly glows in the dark. Her wings are made from transparency sheets and were airbrushed with glow in the dark paint before being accented with black glitter. Her hair is glow in the dark nylon from dollyhair.com (I managed to find a hank on ebay) and although it's hard to see in the photos it was gradient dyed with green Rit dye.

Anyway, I hope everyone likes her. She was sold at the fair so she is not for sale. ;)
