Hi friends, it has been ages since I did any pony art! Here's Applejack, who originally started out as a cowgirl doodle.

Arts & Crafts Corral / Valentine's Day Card Exchange
« on: March 03, 2018, 04:06:23 PM »
Hi group, I forgot to share here - but on an FB group we had a Valentine's card exchange and I made a bunch! Each pony was hand coloured in different hues - pink, yellow, blue, purple, seafoam. Originally they were supposed to go on the outside, but I whoopsie measured. Still turned out great though! I made a purple one for myself and kept it - when making cards, it's easy to forget to keep a sample.

For Sale - For Auction / Stickers for sale!
« on: May 19, 2016, 05:17:58 AM »
Hi group, I have stickers for sale with my artwork on them! These are homemade stickers printed on glossy laser paper, die cut and backed with permanent adhesive. They are not outdoor stickers and come from a smoke free home.

The smaller ones are 1.75x2.25" while the larger ones are 2x2.75".

Each set of stickers is $4.50US plus shipping. (If you're Canadian, the price is in Canadian dollars)

Shipping:

Canada $1.00
US $1.50
International $2.75

I can mix and match the stickers, so if you want all Moondancer or all Fluttershy, go ahead! Just ask.

I ship from CANADA so it may take up to three weeks to arrive. My feedback score is perfect on Etsy - look up PurplePonyArt. I can set the sale up on Etsy too if you like. Thanks for looking!

Arts & Crafts Corral / Princess Luna and Spike Picture
« on: December 06, 2015, 05:40:40 AM »
My friend asked me to draw a picture of Spike hugging Luna, but something else happened instead. This picture is made mostly from paper and PanPanstel. Each layer is a piece of paper. Luna is cut from a metallic paper called Stardream. Spike is the only thing cut and coloured normally. I had a lot of fun making it, although committing to sticking everything down was tough.

Arts & Crafts Corral / Fluttershy
« on: September 21, 2015, 05:58:41 PM »
Hi peeps,

Just wanted to share a picture I did a couple months ago for a friend. It's made out of paper layers, PanPastel and marker. I drew a sketch and made a cloud background with PanPastel, then cut and layered the paper for the background. All the other pieces are cut from cardstock and I used foam dots to give her a little lift. My friend loved it! I have another one in the works too. Stay tuned! I have been so busy preparing for an Etsy craft sale that all I have been doing is making and assembling. I can't wait to go back to making something a little more personal :-) You can find it on DevArt here - http://calzephyr.deviantart.com/art/Fluttershy-Papercut-552462787

Pony Brag Arena / My antique mall humblebrag :-)
« on: September 20, 2015, 06:17:58 AM »
Hi peeps,

I'm more active on Facebook than here, but over the Labour Day weekend we went to my hometown, Edmonton, for a short getaway. If you live in Alberta, you may recall how it rained and rained no matter where you were in the province :-D This nixed any outdoor activitives. We decided to go to the Muttart Conservatory since I hadn't been there for decades, and on our way out of the hotel we stopped at a brochure rack to see if there were coupons. We found a business card for the Old Strathcona Antique Mall and decided to go there. My husband loves old stuff as much as I do :-)

It was a bit of trip down memory lane as there was lots of hockey stuff from when I was a kid. The antique mall is also huge - like a two story grocery store. All the booths were nicely curated.

I found a Princess Royal Purple with mashed eyebrows that made her look like a Muppet! The FB group helped me ID her, but sadly she had some pony cancer, so I took her back. I was really feeling bummed out - everyone seems to find an amazing haul at thrift stores, but never me, woe!

Finally I found some Breyers and ponies on the second floor! I was sooooo excited, but then I looked at the price tags. They were soooo overpriced. $45 for a played with Gusty? Uhhhhh...nope!

After spending hours there we were almost ready to leave - everything was starting to look the same! Both of us were just hoping something would jump out and say "Buy me!"

I said to hubs, "I'm just going to take a quick look down this aisle and we can go. Did you see anything horse shaped?"

"Naw," he replied as he followed me. Then, holy cow, I found an MLP and LPS booth. I spotted the G1 nursery and claimed it. There were bags of G3s for $10 and I was just about to hunker down and see what else there was when three little girls just stopped short of me.

"Let's trade places," I said and they eagerly dug into the LPS while I chatted with their parents. Unfortunately the LPS wasn't the 90s kind. Would love to get my hands on some of the ponies. Once they left I realized that there weren't any other G1 treasures unless one considered a MOC Skydancer for $80 a bargain. I found a counter where I could inspect the nursery and gave it a whiff. Smoke free home!! It came with a big baggie of furniture as is all for $20. Holy cow!!!

Although I am not collecting much of anything any more, I had to have this. It looked like the baggie didn't have a pony in it though, but I just so happened to remember seeing Baby Tiddly Winks in one of the overpriced booths. There were two, one in poor condition and one in good condition, so I snagged her. Huzzah!

We left Edmontonian that same day and I cleaned the nursery the next morning. Some of the stickers were lifting, but that was easily fixed with sticky squares. Lots of Dawn, scrubbing, Q-tipping and bamboo skewering later, it smelled and looked amazing. It had not yellowed at all and it really wasn't that dirty - just surface dirt that anything picks up. I was able to find another Edmonton on the FB group, Ouizza, who kindly sold me some of the missing accessories :-)

I have no idea where to display it - it's freaking huge!! I remember a lot of fun times playing with my friend Shannon and her nursery. It was something I had really wanted as a kid and attempted to make my own out of cracker boxes :-D

Arts & Crafts Corral / I made a colouring book :D
« on: May 31, 2015, 12:06:33 PM »
Hi peeps, it's been forever! I spent January to April getting ready for the comic expo and it was a lot of work. I made some colouring pages from my pony drawings and sold half of them at the expo. A lot of people liked seeing G1 ponies and I even made a new friend that collected Breyers too :)

I finally got around to making a full size colouring book and listed it on Etsy as a digital download. The ponies are "debadged" so you can colour then however you want. Here's a coupon code as a thank you: arena05. Click on over to Etsy https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/233655996/ponies-unicorns-pegasus-colouring-book and check it out :)

Arts & Crafts Corral / I can't stop drawing ponies
« on: November 03, 2014, 09:12:12 PM »
My husband wants me to draw something else, but why, I say, why!? :-) It seems I can bang out a picture a week, which is really making me happy. I'll just link to my latest one, Moondancer, and then you can check out Glory, Butterscotch, Bluebell and North Star. Who will be next? :-D

Arts & Crafts Corral / Mimic & Friends
« on: October 11, 2014, 09:35:46 PM »
Hi peeps, a friend added me to the unofficial FB page and I realized how much I missed pony stuff. I haven't drawn anything for months, but out of the blue came this idea for Mimic and her feathered friends :-)
