Pony Corral / Mysterious Chrome Rainbow Dash
« on: April 05, 2019, 05:04:11 PM »
Edit: She's from a craft kit. I've never heard of it until it was brought to my attention, but it's interesting.
A little background: I came back home from college for the weekend to look after the cat, and before deciding to take a nap, I found a bag of ponies on my bed containing a G4 McRainbowdash, a G1 baby Sniffles (Without her sister for some reason...) And, well, this Rainbow dash statue. Does anybody know what this actually is and where it came from? I've tried several different keywords on google images. My Little Wiki didn't have anything on it, either. It has no date or manufacture markings on it whatsoever and is hollow at the bottom. It looks like it might be a cake topper or something?

Excuse the blurriness, this tablet's camera function isn't the greatest and it's very shiny.

Pony Brag Arena / New brag!!
« on: July 11, 2018, 04:55:44 PM »
Got a bag of ponies again at a thrift store. All except one are G3s, the fourth being a fakie. It looks like they were very well played with before I got them, as their hair was all tangled, slightly greasy, and the Fakie and Twinkle Twirl both had rotten rubber bands welded to their legs. Here's some pictures before and after being washed and brushed:

Let's talk about Crackle Fizz the fakie for a second. She was the worst conditioned one with two stickers on her side and a sequense in her ear. Didn't take a picture of that, but wish I did. Second thing is that....She's got a hand carved lot code or something on her feet. If you can't read it in the picture, it says "L-04-B2A"...wonder what that means...hmm..

Pony Brag Arena / Tiny brag: Newborn Cutie Pinkie Pie

Didn't expect to find her, but aparently my grandmother spotted a bag of ponies at a thrift store while I was looking for interview clothes. Most were fakies except for a G3.5 Scootaloo, a 2012 Mcdonalds Applejack and....this beauty. Had to wash her because there was also a sticky Lemonheads at the bottom of the bag which caused everyone to become slightly sticky, but other than that, this is my very first ever Newborn Cuties figure!!

Pony Corral / Is this cow a fakie?

Found her in a bag of toys my grandmother was going to send to my first cousin once removed (That's my first cousin's son) and found this cow. She's made of the same slightly higher quality material some of the better molded fakies have, and her stance is reminiscent of, looking up on the wiki, most closely resembling the Sweet Breeze pose from G3. Not to mention, she's got a heart reflection in her eye. Her belly is simply stamped in the mold with "©2010 CHINA", and her head is moveable. I'd really appreciate knowing if she is considered a fakie or is just a a cow who coincidentally slightly resembles a pony.

I got her off of ebay with a bunch of other baits one time, and her condition intrigued me. She's supposed to be white, but she's purple and pink instead? I assume someone tried to boil her to dye her body, but....What do you think? The camera makes the red spots look like rust stains, but I assure you, they're more red/pinkish in person.

Pony Brag Arena / New additions and some updates!!
« on: May 14, 2018, 06:55:06 PM »
Got some new ponies over the past couple days. Oddly, these all came from the same resale store, so I'm pretty happy with my discoveries.

So first, we have a SweetieBelle (You can tell 'cause she's got her name on her leg)
What I like about her is she's still got the plastic thing that gets put in the hair to keep the hair pre-styled on both her mane and tail. I'm planning on keeping it that way because I've never seen that happen.

Next is my first ever Minty. I've always wanted a Minty of my very own, and while she's not full-size, she IS still the green and pink clumsy doof we all know and love <3

I also got one of those painted G3 figures. This one of Rainbow dash. Excuse the blur, my camera thinks pony legs in the background are more interesting than small figurines.

Onto G4, I got a couple EQG mcdonalds figures. I cannot stand dolls that don't have the option to move their legs because getting them to stand in the house where I live in where you can hear and feel every footstep, is like winning the lottery 3 times in a row and then finding an actual real life leprechaun.

AAAAND! A Miss Pommell Mcdonalds figure.

Now onto updates and neat stuuuuuffs:

Some people wanted to see my EQG Mini Rainbow dash with the fake leg. (I lovingly call her Fred or MY LEG...for obvious reasons.) I got her for free from a local wal-mart. Yes, really. I found her doing my rounds looking for some more figures of Muffins because favorite, and found her without her package and without a leg. I took her to customer service, and the lady there said they'd be losing money either way of me taking it or sending it back to the manufacturer....so she let me have her for free! (Of course, a friend of mine told me they think the store actually gets paid for sending faulty items back, but that was way after I took her home, so, whatever :3) As you can see, I made the fake leg out of a sucker stick, some tape and a reciept.

Another cool thing I never showed you guys was this Mommy Charm I found somewhere.  I can't remember where, exactly, but I'm glad she's in with my collection!

I bought some ribbon recently, and I gave all my G1 ponies (and my two G2 ponies) ribbons. I didn't have blue or green, so the ones that were supposed to have those got kinda white-ish with yellow-red-blue stripes. Close enough. The ones without tails got ribbons around their necks!

Finally, I found some air-dry clay a few days ago and could finally try to fix the worst of my  G3 Mcdonalds Starswirl's feet.

Not only that, but I finally got rid of my Sweetheart Sister Starflash's old makeshift feet made of some pom-poms and tape(Her previous owner had a particularly chewwy dog), and replaced it with air-dry clay! It's not the prettiest thing in the world, but  now she doesn't wobble around because of the pom-pom's bounciness!!

The Dollhouse / Should I shave and rehair these two?
« on: May 06, 2018, 10:55:08 AM »
I wanted to start my own barbie collection even though I know very little about barbie, but I'm willing to learn.
I bought a bunch of baity looking barbies while thrifting a few days ago to start off my collection and never realised how horrible these two's hair was. One's got hair so frizzed, it's basically like a sponge and the pick I use to brush doll hair won't go though. The other is overly greasy, and dropped a lot of hair when I tried to carefully brush it out.
Spoiler
Here's the one with sponge-like hair. Yes I'm aware of the fact her arm has been chewed.

And the extremely tangled hair one. I affectionately refer to this one as "Spagehtti-On-A-Fork" because turning her hair the right way looks just like it.

Pony Corral / My Mcdonalds Toola-Roola has a bruise?
« on: May 04, 2018, 04:06:10 PM »
Yeah, I just realised this a little while ago, but my newest Mcdonalds Toola-Roola has some sort of discolouration on her forehead that honestly looks like a bruise. It's under the forehead decal....any idea on what this could be? She's pretty shiny so I couldn't get really good pictures of her up close, but I tried:

Pony Brag Arena / Thrifting haul
« on: May 03, 2018, 02:45:35 PM »
Went thrifting a few hours away from most thrift stores we go to to some...actually really nice results!

Here's some real ponies:

n some fakies, plus a few normal horse figures:

The normal G3 pony is a Butterpop! I cleaned her and the two Mc'ds G3 ponies after I took the picture with some dish soap.

Speaking of Mcdonalds G3s, this poor Starswirl was found by a dog judging by the bite marks. poor baby, but not much I can do without air dry clay. But, maybe my other Mcdonalds Starswirl will be like a sister for her and help her when she can!

Arts & Crafts Corral / My 'sona, as it were

This is Paramountain, a G3 pony I thought I'd want to share
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

She's my main pony persona character. She's based on my love for company logos, and her colours are based on colour-picked sections of one of the Paramount logos.
Paramountain is a big 'ol nerd and loves to gush about her interests, even if the other one she's talking to doesn't seem as interested.

Pony Corral / Do/how do you display you G4 Mcdonalds ponies?
« on: April 29, 2018, 07:57:32 AM »
For my new G3/4 shelf, I had to put my G4 mcdonalds ponies in the back because they tend to fall over from being topheavy, usually from the fact they have one leg raised.

So, tell me, If you've ever displayed your specifically G4 Mcdonalds ponies, do you try to stand them up, or do you try to hang them by their comb they usually have on their head? I'm curious on what you people do.

Pony Brag Arena / New display

Last night, I just switched my fakies and my G3 and 4 ponies places because I realised I have WAY more fakies for 2 shelves, and G3 and G4, I only need 1 shelf for each.

Pony Brag Arena / Recieved some baity G3s in the mail!
« on: April 19, 2018, 02:23:55 PM »
SO!! I got a box 'o baity ponies in the mail today!

5 came with their heads off and after wrestling with each one for 5 minutes a piece (Which unfortunately meant I had to bite the plug so it would fit back in the hole) and a bruised finger+bandage later, finally got them all back on.
As such, I'm keeping the bald ones bald, and the shaved ones shaved. I don't ever want to deal with G3 pony necks ever again. All are put in spoilers because picture heavy.

First up is a VERY silky smooth haired Pinkie Pie's Party edition of Pinkie Pie. I think the seller washed all the ponies's hair before sending it. Appreciated, whoever you are.

Another Pinkie with silky smooth hair, who is a Favorite Friends (wave 4) edition. I think this one is my favorite style.

Daisy Jo. That's a fun name <3

Baby Romperooni is my favorite name of all. rom-per-roooooooni!~

The rest are ponies who I had to put the heads back on.

Cute Curtsey.....was one of the HARDEST PONIES IN EXISTANCE TO PUT THE HEAD BACK ONTO. See, her neck plug and her head hole were super rigid to the point of me resorting to biting the neck and hole to deform them so they could have a chance to get back together.

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Sweetie Belle, who I think came with the normal Pinkie pie earlier in the list, as they came in a pack together.

Rainbow Celebration Sunny daze with her head a little cock-eyed because I didn't know where her neck was supposed to rest when I took the picture, but her neck is supposed to be turned to the same side her heart hoof is. It has been since corrected.

This pony is the reason I wanted this lot from Ebay. Believe it or not, this is a Goody Gumdrops, and aparently her previous owner either left her in the sun for days on end and she sunfaded, or someone attempted to dye her purple. Nevertheless, she's my baby, and I'll treasure her forever <3

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

This Spring Fever arrived and wasn't a part of the lot picture I saw...Was she a bonus? She didn't have a head, so I stole the head off a similar G3 mould knock-off, and while it's not perfect, it works well enough.

Edit: Forgot to take a picture of the last one!!

Rainbow Swirl in a diva pose, the My Little Wiki doesn't categorize? Nevertheless, this neck was hard to put back on, too.

Pony Corral / Question about Megan
« on: April 17, 2018, 10:09:30 AM »
I'm not sure if this goes in pony or the dolls section. If it belongs more in dolls, I'll move it there, but since Megan is part of MLP, I decided to put it here in corral.
I've never had a Megan, But I've been wondering: Does she feel like the ponies, made of the same vinyl material, or is she plastic? And in addition, how well does she stay on the pony's saddle when just being displayed??

Pony Brag Arena / More pony collection
« on: April 13, 2018, 10:28:01 AM »
:pout: 3rd time's the charm, eh? At first I put descriptions for all my ponies, but my computer bluescreened, and then I added them all a second time with just the images, but I got a PM and the post cancelled...so now I'm a bit frustrated and will just link the imgur collection instead:
https://imgur.com/a/kxt0b
There are a couple doubles (Namely that one groupshot of those G4 pinkie pies) All of these are on display now, I'm sending the Gusty to a friend of mine, and trading Merriweather for a baby Gusty.
