Hi collectors local to Alabama! I come with some great news- a local collector has opened up a shop that sells ponies for $0.50 to $2, and my haul from yesterday was MASSIVE, with tons of rare finds including 2-3 Big Brothers, a Sweetheart Sister, several Year 10+s, a 25th anni repro Cotton Candy, and some Twinkle-Eyes (the entire Sundae Best set was there too, but I didn't get any of them)! I NEEDED to recommend this place!
In the Lorna Brook Village shopping mall next to Lorna Rd, there's a place called "Nostalgia" (or "Nostalgia Toys", my memory escapes me) that's next to the Mexican restaurant. It's run by a very sweet woman who is a recovering hoarder and her kid. They were so kind to us!
This place has waaay more than just ponies. You can find anything in there- Disney, Care Bears, Barbie, Pokemon, Garfield, hell this place has dedicated areas for everything! Dolls, plush, you name it! Their oldest stuff is from the 50s.
So if you're nearby, definitely swing by! I know I wiped out most of their pony inventory yesterday, but if you're a collector who isn't picky about condition or isn't afraid of lots of restoring they're great. There are some perfectly mint condition ponies though- one of the Talk-a-Lots was GORGEOUS and her hair was so so soft.
The owner specifically stated she doesn't sell for Ebay prices so that it's easier for local, small, and/or beginning collectors to pick up some of the rarer ones. My haul that was probably worth over $500 (at least $150 with those Big Brothers alone) rang up as $200. They also buy, so if you have doubles, they're likely a good place to go!
10/10 would stop by again!

I asked this originally on Tumblr, but it's worth to ask here as well as there are more G1 collectors here. Also so that this could reach a wider audience. Has the community ever come up with an unofficial replacement name for G*psy? Considering her name is a slur for the Romani people, especially considering the prejudice against the Romani has been more and more revealed over the years, I figure it's only right to come up with a different name to refer to G*psy as. Also since she's so commonly sought after, and she stems from an offensive caricature in the comics. Of course, we can't change the past (and it was certainly a different time when she was released) and it'd be easier to find her under the original name (when it comes to things like listings, etc), but out of respect it's likely for the best we give her an unofficial name to use instead. If she doesn't already have one- and I've looked- I suggest Tambourine, for her cutie mark and backcard story. If you're of the Romani people yourself, please give your opinions! They'll be the most heavily considered and your thoughts on this are the most appreciated. Even if you're not Romani, offer your opinions too! Hey Arena!
I just came in possession of Precious Gem, one of my grails, with her factory curls intact. However, she needs restoration, including a hair cleaning that will ultimately straighten out her hair.
Does anyone have an idea on how I could go about either restoring or keeping her factory curls, instead of recurling her hair a different way?
Precious Gem's factory curls are extremely important to me here, and if I can't have a way to go about cleaning her hair up without keeping them in some way, then I'll just not have to restore her, and keep her in this semi-dirty state she's in. Mind you, it's not bad, her hair is still soft, but white ponies do take a fair bit of surface dirt.

For a while, I've had a Furby Baby in my possession, a shy sweetheart I named Lotus! She has squeaky gear syndrome, something I was expecting from her due to her wear, but as I've played with her (and introduced her to my Color Change, Caramel), she will often go to sleep after just a short amount of play (longest she's stayed awake has maybe been 10 minutes).
Now, I have never heard of a Furby Baby having Me-Sleep-Again. But due to the circumstances, I think Lotus may just be. Luckily her brand of it will allow me to flip her to wake her up, so it isn't too awful.
I'd just like to ask if anyone around here knew if Babies could have MSA, or if that's just generally unheard of and my gal just likes to sleep a lot?

I recently came into possession of three new bears for my collection! The ever crazy-rare Pink Power, the 25th Anniversary Tenderheart, and a scented Funshine!
As many will know, the 25th Anni bears' main selling point is their Swarovski crystal eyes and sterling silver accents, which 25th Tenderheart has plenty of. But there's a problem with mine... his nose is rusted.
I only saw it today, and while it hasn't stained any of the white fur, my Tenderheart's nose is that horrible shade of rust red-orange. He's MIB, so I don't know how this could've happened.
I don't normally deal with rust. Tail rust in my personal ponies is a problem I rarely run into (being primarily a G3 collector), and when we have run into it's been minor or the ponies are in bait condition in the first place.
My question, is what on earth do I do? I thought sterling silver wasn't supposed to rust, and yet it has. How do I clean this off of Tenderheart without damaging anything else?

Today, I found G3.5 stickers in a local CVS. I bought two sheets, my curiosity piqued. Dated 2010. This isn't the first time we've found 3.5 stickers in the wild like this, either. My collector friends and mutuals have reported these things too. In a Hobby Lobby, a Five Below, many more "bargain stores" like these, we continue to find 3.5 era stickersheets and stickerpads. What's weirding me out is, why is no one talking about this? There's no report on these on places I'd expect to report on these. So I'm digging into it myself, I guess. My mom figures it was a lost shipment, now spread to bargain stores across the US because of their age. My question for you all is, have you found G3.5 stickers in the past year? When? Where? And does anyone have any idea why they're appearing at all? The only known pattern to their appearances are in low-priced stores, all in the US as far as I've heard. When were they dated? Is this an omen that G3.5 is going to destroy the world because we called it the worst generation and we need to praise the great 3.5 gods lest we perish? (Okay, that's a joke.) Pictures would be grand- I wanna crack this "case"! EDIT:Here's the ones I found.

I found my first Magic Message G1 at a thrift store- Cloud Dreamer. Her cutie mark went brown.
For those who don't know: Magic Message ponies usually have solid blue cutie marks until you apply heat/rub them, then pictures appear.
But even the ponies on My Little Wiki show their brown symbols! Cloud Dreamer's seem to be the worst. Windy/Magical Breeze's also does it, and the others do it to a lesser extent.
Is there an explanation, and are the cutie marks worth repainting?

Turns out my Yesterdaisy is my most faded pony. I thought all Yesterdaisys' hair were pure white!
Anyone with a non-faded Yesterdaisy willing to show me what she looks like with her natural pink hair? I know I can look at her reference on Strawberry Reef, but I wanna see it in other lighting.

Two packages came in- my G3 Pop Art Pony and my G4 bling bag random grab of 10! Where's the 10th. The 10th? Was the Ponyville Valenshy below Pop Art. She somehow sneaked in with all my blind bags! Anyway, the condition of Pop Art is SUPER SUPER GOOD!! I definitely gave that seller a fantastic review. No marks to be seen, hair is silky soft and super clean, although she has a barely noticeable smoke smell from one of her super old owners (not her seller or any of the restorers who seemingly managed to get their hands on her)! Her smell I don't care about. It's so faint that you have to get up super close, like nose-touching-pony close, to remotely smell it. I'm happy she's here!

I wrote this cute story for a friend’s little sister, who recently gave me all her old ponies (Tay’s box). I was wondering if she’d like little story-based updates on her ponies, and while I’ve gotten no response from Taylor as of now, I went ahead and wrote one. This also got featured on the MLP Amino! Ponies used: G2 Ivy, G4 Cheerilee, fakie (who I’ve named Day Lily), G2 Prince Firefly, the various ponies on my bottom shelf, G1 Glory, G1 Moondancer, and G4 Applejack -- visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginIvy was having a wild day! Being introduced to the herd only a short while ago, she was busy making and meeting new friends. I believe she is a fakie, because she came from a bunch of ponies in the same mold- including an Applejack and Rainbow Dash despite me not ever seeing an official princess of those two in this mold. There's also a pony I've never actually seen before in the mold- also evidence of a fakie? Her hair was severely matted and still is quite matted, but I can't do much about it since I'm not very versed with plush. I've washed her twice and brushed out her hair. Now, I don't put voiceboxes in ANY of my Build-a-Bears. I have scents in some (my three Pokemon. I love the lavender scent), but never a voicebox. I was playing Overwatch one day and taking a break from the game, suddenly the very beginning of the G4 theme tune started playing then turned in a glitchy nightmare of a mess. I knew exactly what it was, and it was this Twilight. I was laughing super hard, and I have a video of her glitchy voice box screaming that I haven't posted yet anywhere. She hasn't turned on since. If anyone knows how to get mats out of plush ponies' hair, please do tell me! I want to get her hair back to a mostly normal state. Late this night, a new pony sputtered away from her pastel packaging- The 35th Anniversary Butterscotch, last of her kind in the store. Welcome to your new home!" the large, white earth pony said happily. "My name is Lulabelle! I've been here the longest. What's your name?" "My name's Butterscotch," Butterscotch said. "What about you two?" she asked, motioning to the purple earth pony and the small white unicorn. "I'm Prince Firefly," said the purple one. "I watch over these lands, and make sure everypony is cared for." "Ah, I'm so sorry I didn't ask you first, your Highness!" Butterscotch said, shocked. Firefly smiled shyly. "It's okay! I'm not much a prince than anyone else here. We're all of the same kind here." "And I'm Glory," said the unicorn. "I've only been here for a day. I got a friend that looks like you!"
