Off Topic / Where to Buy a Light Box?
« on: October 24, 2018, 07:45:54 PM »
I'm looking for a light box so I can take really good pictures of ponies and other things.  But I don't know where to buy one or what kind to buy.  I've looked on Amazon and there are so many and prices are so varied.  I don't want to spend a lot of money.  A simple one would be best.

I bought a small one on Amazon a while ago, it looked plenty big enough for MLPs online but it's not big enough.  It's really nice and simple though, and it folds down.  I'd like one like that, just a bit bigger.  Does anybody have any recommendations?

Pony Corral / Cleaning Tips for G4 Ponies?
« on: January 22, 2018, 12:41:51 PM »
I just recently got a bunch of second hand G4 ponies, (yay!) and they all badly need spa days.  I've never cleaned a G4 before so I'm wondering if anyone has any tips?  I know that basically it will be just like cleaning any other pony.  But the plastic is different and they are put together differently so I wondered if there are any different cleaning techniques I should know.  Mostly I am worried about getting water inside their tail holes, since I can't just pop their heads off like G1's.

Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

Pony Corral / Question about Princess Skystar
« on: December 18, 2017, 10:49:45 PM »
Just a quick question about the Princess Skystar sea pony toys.  Is the one that comes with the musical shell the standard brushable size or some other size?  I haven't seen any in stores so I'm trying to decide which one to order, the one that's bundled with Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash or the one with the shell.  Thanks in advance!  :)

It's been so long since I've had new ponies, I'm so happy!  Nothing exotic and not a lucky find, they're just G4's that I ordered on Amazon, but still new ponies none the less.  :)  Before this I only had two G4 ponies that I bought on a whim at the doll store some time ago, Rainbow Dash and Applejack with their symbols cascading down their legs and over one eye (not sure what you call those type of ponies - I find the new types confusing).

Now I have regular versions of Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Big Macintosh, Vinyl Scratch, Miss Pommel, :muffin: Pony Hooves, Maude Rock Pie, Princess Cadence, Shining Armor, Starlight Glimmer, Lyra Heartstrings, and Cheerilee, Spitfire, and a Twilight Sparkle who has glitter on her legs and tinsel in her hair.

Also not shown is glittery legs and tinsel hair versions of Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie.  (I'm not sure if I'm gonna keep those but I'm also not sure anyone would want them.)  I also ordered a regular version of Twilight Sparkle but she hasn't arrived yet.

The guys look funny with their hair in mowhawks, hehe, I kinda wish it was long enough to lay flat, but they're cute all the same.  Most of them have such nice silky hair, I can't wait to fix it nice.  But the guys hair isn't silky and neither is Rarity's, which is a bummer, I wonder why their hair feels different...

Now my collection truly does have all generations in it!  :accomplished:  But now I want to get so many more.  XD

Introductions / Hello, I'm RavenPaw and I'm a Pony addict
« on: September 29, 2017, 10:15:37 PM »
Hello everyone!  My name is RavenPaw.  That's the name of my original character pony persona anyway, so you can call me that.  :)  I live in a small town outside of St. Louis, Missouri, USA.

My Little Ponies are a huge obsession of mine, I have been collecting since I was four years old and my aunt and uncle gave me my first pony, Peachy and the Pretty Parlor.  I am now 35 years old and still have my original Peachy and almost all of the ponies I had as a child.  (Although the Pretty Parlor and other playsets I had as a kid needed to be replaced)  You would think that having collected for so long that I would have a huge collection, but sadly I don't.  I haven't collected continually all those years, I sometimes stopped to focus on other obsessions, or for financial reasons I can't buy every pony I want.  But I always come back to MLPs and I always will.  I have around 375 ponies and friends at last count, but I have a few more than that that haven't been counted yet.  I also collect anything and everything that I can find that has anything to do with MLP, plushies, stickers, blankets, bags, lunch boxes, and so on.  I also collect a couple other toy lines from the 80's, some other toys and plushies both old and new.

I remember taking Peachy and Baby Cuddles (who was Peachy's son in my mind) with me everywhere when I was very little.  Some other favorites from when I played with my best friend are Baby Tic-Tac-Toe (Known as Tic-Tac to her friends, she was the ring leader of a mischievous band of orphan baby ponies who ran a muck through our MLP kingdom, which is called Star Crossed Meadows.  My childhood best friend came up with the name.) Masquerade, Tic-Tac's uncle, who's nickname was Elvis because he had wild hair, Baby Moondancer, who I called Baby Moonshadow because I forgot his name when I was little, Galaxy, who is Masqurade's mate, Gypsy, my first and still one of my only UK ponies so far, and her mate Barnacle, and Tex, who is the single father of twins Milkweed and Tumbleweed (and who is known as the most eligible bachelor in Star Crossed Meadows ;) ).  And I could go on, but I think I've rambled enough *blush*

I am very interested in making custom ponies, I have lots of ideas, but I am artistically challenged, so I haven't made any yet.

As you can probably tell, I heavily favor G1 ponies.  They are the ones I grew up with, I have a deep emotional and nostalgic connection to them, I think they are the cutest, had the most variety in different types, and are just awesome.  But I collect and love all generations.  I have only recently gotten into G4 ponies, but I love them now too.  I adore Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Fluttershy, Big Mac, and Shining Armor.  I also love G3 because they look so much like G1 and they are so shiny and colorful, and G2 are cute and unique.

I used to belong to a MLP email group long long ago when the internet as fairly new and email groups were a thing, before and while G2's were out.  I can't remember why I got out of that, but I've always wanted to get back into a MLP collector group, but I just never have, until now.  My boyfriend is really awesome about tolerating my pony rambles, but it would also be great to be around other collectors.  So here I am!

Oh, and sorry I rambled so much.  *blush*
