Pony Corral / Prototype ponies
« on: July 08, 2022, 11:27:32 AM »
Hello everyone. I've been trying to do some research, but I can't really find an answer. How can I tell between a g1 prototype pony and a pony that someone was making into a custom, but for some reason was unable to finish? I know prototypes are rare, but they do pop up occasionally. There is someone somewhat local to me who is selling some that she swears they are prototypes. I can tell when it's a poorly executed custom, but I know there are some amazing artists who can make it look like the real deal. Thanks for any info.

Pony Corral / Which one would you keep?
« on: November 26, 2017, 12:58:53 PM »
I have a dilemma that I think most collectors have from time to time. I've run out of room and I'm trying to decide which ponies to display. Would you display the childhood pony that's in pretty bad shape, but it was also given to you by someone who was very close, but has passed away. Or would you keep the one that you just got and has no sentimental attatchment, but is in much better shape? If appreciate any opinions.

Pony Corral / Hong Kong or China sets?
« on: October 30, 2016, 04:05:01 PM »
A while back I read on Facebook that some of the g1 sets were marked either Hong Kong or China. I started checking the set that I knew about and I discovered that I did have both of the "Blueberry Baskets". I checked my other dublicates, but none of them were marked differently. So, I'm just wondering what other sets had the different markings. Any help would be appreciated. I hate to think that I passed one up because I thought it was the same pony that I already had. Thanks in advance.

Introductions / Hi

Hi, thank you for adding me. My name is Beth and I'm from Michigan. I've been collecting g1s my whole life and all of my family think that I'm completely obsessed. I've even got my 5 year old daughter started on it.
